- The cycle of violence continues in Manipur. At least two people were killed in fresh firing between two groups in Imphal West. The gunfight broke between village volunteers of two communities at Koutruk village, on the border of the Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts. Manipur has been on the boil since May 3, 2023 when ethnic violence first erupted in the northeastern state.

Kukis never strayed into Meitei areas to attack. We respect the buffer zone manned by the Indian security forces. It's the Meitei fighters who'd crossed the buffer zone to attack the Kukis. Please study the place of firing and you'll see who crossed the buffer zone. Please refer the government intellligence agencies for confirmation. do not simply give in to Meitei lies.

The issue is not the weapons here, people will make weapons if they don't have one because they have to protect themselves. The more important issue is here is what is causing the conflict? If meiteis stay in their valley, if they stay at home- there will be no conflict. The Kuki-Zo people are not coming down the valley to attack but only defending against the meiteis who come to attack and kill Kuki-Zo people, but happen to die there. Stay home, stay safe
