  • Was Parliament’s standing ovation for a Nazi soldier an aberration or tied to this country’s support for NATO and far right Ukrainian nationalism?
Foreign policy commentator Yves Engler interviews Richard Sanders on the roots, relevance and rationale of NaziGate in Parliament. In 2021 Sanders authored Cold War Canada: Ongoing state support for East European émigré groups with deep fascist roots

Thank you Richard for very enlightening talks and decades of research and courage. It took an international scandal to let genie out of the bottle! Hopefully this time CF and friends from UCC won’t be able to get away. Canadians deserve to know the history and who is really pushing Canada towards nuclear confrontation with Russia

You are very knowledgeable about this question. The information you are giving is complicated for anyone who doesn't have your knowledge. thank you for speaking about the history of this issue. I think your average Canadian has no idea of what you are revealing here and neither would most of the MPs who applauded, or the PM for that matter. I doubt if they would have applauded this 98 year-old gentleman if they had an understanding of his role in supporting Nazis.

It occurs to me that both parties have been grooming us to support fascists outright since the end of WWII.
Involvement in the Orange Revolution in 2004, Harper's funding and training fascists starting in 2014, continued funding and support for fascist supporting organizations in Canada over all these decades and Trudeau's more emphatic support for fascists here and abroad.
In this light I think it is not unreasonable to suppose that the appearance of this Nazi in parliament could have been another step meant to further of the rehabilitation of fascism.
Particularly in a period in history when Socialism and Communism are gaining interest in the minds of the public

thank you for this important conversation. there's so much obfuscation out there, it can be hard to tell what's really going on. this is of course intentional. we must abolish NATO, the globocops

Hmmm your message is excellent. Informative and needs to be heard in mainstream. A thought. Perhaps reaching out for help from an outstanding editor and person with marketing expertise could help get your information mainstream. Have you informed “democracy now”?

Instead of the UCC why not get in touch with the A.U.U.C. (Associatio of United Ukrainian Canadians)?

The only ones fighting Russia in the second world was were the Nazis. It is a well-known fact and our parliament acted like they didn't know this. The additional information on the UCC is shocking. I knew it was started by the fascist Ukrainian war veterans but I had no idea that our government at the time played a key role. The UCC still has an incredible influence in our foreign policy. Chrystia Freeland is associated with them (no surprise there).

Was Smetana, Lithuanias president, a fascist, as stalinists maintained, or an independentist?
