    Hi Gaurav, enjoyed your informative video! While checking the comments, I found that purchasing a drone from a foreign country and registering it (obtaining a UIN) before returning to India could be beneficial. My query is, does the UIN registration include a specific date, and what documentation is provided after the registration process?
    I'm considering buying the DJI Mini 4 Pro during my visit to Thailand.

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, registering could make the case (stating that it is a used drone, not a new one) more genuine. UIN is an alphanumeric serial connected with Drone's serial number. Also it has a date of issue, Drone type and Drone category.
      There is no documentation. It just displayed on your profile in the Digital Sky platform.

    Question As a hobbyist if I assemble my own drone in 250-2000gm category, do I have to get UIN for the drone? and can I sell those parts like flight controller, motor etc as a reseller?

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  8 месяцев назад

      So if you assemble a drone, not only you need to get a UIN, but you need to get a type certificate too. A Type certificate is meant for basically the fitness of your drone. That is, if it is fit to fly. So as you can see, the drones that these big companies and start-ups make, they all need to certify their drones.
      As far as reselling the parts is concerned, as per rules, any transfer of registered drone/ part is to be informed to DGCA.
      This is all as per rules.

      Whether you can take a drone to a foreign country depends on the Drone Rules of that country. At Indian airports, I think there is no option or requirement or declaration that you are carrying a drone or not. There may be though, I am not fully aware. So if you have a UIN then there should not be any problem. As UIN means that DGCA knows about your drone.

      It is great that you are a certified pilot but as far as my understanding flying your own drone with a UIN would still be a problem. The Indian government wants every drone flying in its Air Space to be known to them. So even being a Pilot won't help. The question of whether to be a Pilot or not comes into picture when it is a matter of Drone Class i.e. Nano, Micro etc.
      If you can get a UIN, that would be best. And yes, the Digital Sky website sometimes creates issues. I too was unable to login a couple of days ago. But keep on trying, it will work.

      I don't know particularly about Mini 1, but the initial setting of Max altitude is 15m in every drone. In fact, in every flight, the max altitude resets to 15 m in my Mini 3. I have to increase it to whatever I want (say 500m) every time during the flight. So I think same setting should be there in Mini 1. Thank you so much for the appreciation 😊. I can sense a few problems in your case. First one, is Holystone drone is type certified in India? Means, do DGCA consider Holystone as a drone fir to fly in India? Second one can be a problem or the solution to the first one, which is, are you Indian. If yes, get/check Holystone is type certified or not, otherwise apply for type certification and register your drone in Digital Sky. But if you are not Indian, then unfortunately, you cannot fly the drone in India, legally.
