In my family we r also driving polo and rapid. Polo 2015 model petrol, rapid 2017 model diesel. Polo completed 153000/ kms and rapid 109000/- kms. I use to visit service centre only after 15000 or 16000 kms as recommended once in a year or before , depending upon need. Normal service cost around 10000 for each. So less than a rupee per km service cost. Driving conditions, driving habits, quality of spares used & other factors decides service cost. I or my known people never faced any issue with service cost or product performance of vw group cars. Never faced issue with AC motor, fuel pump, alternator. Yes clutch plates, battery , tyres, brake pads, suspensions changed and that in cost as per part price.

And every month average it was ₹2,700
Make a note:
1. His car 1.6 diesel variant (It needs high periodic maintenance)
2. 4 periodic accident service, it’s too much for personal vehicle
3. These accidents resulted in additional expenses in paid services due to spare part reliability concern! (So many spare part replacement in paid service)
4. And once the warranty period finished don’t relay on dealer shops, the custom service center will be a better option!
5. I hope the petrol variant will be a better option in Volkswagen/Skoda brands!

Only labour cost will be free. Spare parts of Skoda, VW and BMW are expensive.

High maintenance, less resale value and unavailabilty of parts at local shops is the reason why people prefer Hyundai and Maruti instead of VW and Skoda.

Seems like you are a rough driver, skoda cars are a bit expensive to maintain but not like this, suspension doesn't goes off this much early.
Your good driving practice (s) will divert a lot of running expenses.

It's the type of roads he goes on plus at 70-80k kms most of the suspension breaks down as the bushings wear out.

Thanks for clearing this, glad I didn't buy any Volkswagen or Skoda, I was happy with my tata tiago, just pay an AMC gold package for around Rs 4000, I got pairs and lubricants worth of around Rs 30000 and free labour twice for two years, after that, the car parts didn't wear coz they had changed the parts at 30000km. I still have new clutch plate, pressure plate, coolants, brake fluid, bushes with me unused coz I claimed them accordingly with this package. Best low maintenance cost by tata motors.

My Rapid Diesel Ambition 2013 model doesn't met with a single accident yet .....
Total kms driven 1,75,455.....
After reaching 1,80,000 kms, Timming belt, tensioner kits need to be changed at a scheduled interval of 90000 kms as per Skoda services....
Service cost for this sedan is quite justified as it runs 15000 kms on its each service ...
1. Engine oil (4.3 ltr)
2. AC/ Pollen filter
3. Oil filter
4. Fuel filter
5. General check up ...
Average service cost is less than Rs.10000.....

Good effort to show the good features. I would like to share from my experience. If a kid half opens the door from inside ( means door has to be pulled out still more to get down) and driver has missed out to notice that door and applies remote lock. Then all doors get locked including the not completely open door. Another feature. If you have switched off the engine and before opening any of the door the windows or mirrors function thru the electricals 🎉.Means even if key is in off position your windows and mirrors work from inside the car.

I see a lot of comment that the cost is very high but i think its not that costly. The maintenance cost and repair cost largely depend on type of engine and price of car. Diesel car's maintenance cost around 30% more than its petrol variant. Secondly if you are comparing your small hatch with this car you are mistaken. Third thing is once a car crosses 1 lack mark the service cost will increase drastically. I have maruti Ritz diesel and elite I20 Petrol. I20 is costlier than Ritz yet the service cost is more or less same except the accidental repair. As I 20 is costlier, the accidental part replacement is costlier. So compare this car's maintenance with a 12 lakh car and not below 8 lakh cars.
Skoda and VW gets serviced at 15k kms not like our Maruti which gets serviced at 7k kms, it’s a premium car, if you take care of it you feel it’s worth, if you have taken it to some trusted VW mechanic outside you will save money, I own VW TDI 1.2, I usually pay less that 10k for every 15k kms. I also know Baleno from family which gets serviced at 7k and pay around 7k, so you will pay 14k for 15k kms, polo still less in comparison.

but I am Happy with My Toyota Etios with low maintenance cost Reliable engine, smooth ride with sefty more space, (just normal service :- oil change, oil filter air filter replaced no any extra exp..). That's y I love Toyota just start engine enjoy trip then return to home.... Only car good looks & extra features not matter...As per my Experience...

Apart from Service cost.. There is a major delay in getting parts.. My frd car took 25 days to replace the Front Bumber..
thanks a lot bro!!!!, this is really really good insight into the maintanace. i own a maruthi suzuki ertiga, have never paid more than 10k, for any service, including parts repacement, for 1 lakh km. brakes are replaced at 80k km, ac recharge was done once at 70k, no other issues, just fuel the car and keep going

I’ve never been a Skoda owner but I’ve had two vw Vento’s back to back. And I’ve never had so high bills for the cars. Some problem of Skoda’s ? You should have complained about the AC motor, even the first time you paid should have been under warranty.
1.46 Rs. per kms running cost (169758 rs for 116254 kms driving) excluding the tyres and battery is not bad at all for a robust, well built German car with Czech badge.

Total: around 19 lac ₹₹
Uber/Ola: ₹10 lac (Covering 1 lac Kilometres)
Ola uber people uses Maruti car cng
I own a zen costing 30000rs car
CNG kit Got it under 17000rs
My running cost on cng 2 rs ....and equivalent 0.5 rs/km for services
2.5rs /km getting around 300000rs for 100000km plus who want to wait for uber to come

1) on 10000 km service it's fuel filter with same part number cost 1119 and on 116000 km same article cost 2157 ...

That’s not show New Skoda rapid tsi service is poor compared then other brands and this is premium brand and build quality better than Honda city and verna. Rapid service period is fifteen thousand kilometres or one year which ever is earlier and on the other hand city service is ten thousand kilometres or six months and Skoda is biggest brand than honda maruti Hyundai Toyota and ford or jeep also

seems Skoda Jaipur find you with all milky cow thats why they always charges you approx 30~35 K on each paid service after 70K of running vehicle, all this cost seems to be extreme high. hope next time you will allow out sourced service provider who will give you more flexibility to service your vehicle.

I've spend more than 4 lakhs on my rapid and it has done almost 170k km. Every bill after 75k it goes around rs25k minimum.

His brake pads were replaced a number of times. That suggests he's a rough driver. Anyways I know very few must have noted the time intervals b/w each service. The service is definitely on the higher side, but this is Skoda and it comes with a peace of mind.

I was planning to buy Rapid rider on road at 8.5 lac but after seeing service cost of 34000 INR at 84000 kms & continues to 45000 inr after every 15000 kms, I cancelled my plan to buy #Skoda or #Volkswagen. I will go with #Hyundai or #Tata or #Honda or #Toyota because easy maintenance ❤️

But you get a well built safe car with good performance at 8.5L but verna & city costs you 10.5L and 13L. Even if you decide to go with verna you pay 2L more.. Imagine Rapid comes at 8.5L with a zero maintenance for upto 2Lakhs with added power and safety

Look at his accident record...and that is diesel engine..new rapid is petrol...you will get same feature models without safety tincan brands like verna ,city more than 4 lakhs....even if you consider service cost for seven years you will get a skoda for free service of 7 years if u consider verna, city etc..but shitty cars cannot match the driving pleasure, solid premium fit and finish to skoda..just look at how it is manufscture and compare accident of skoda and volkswagen...

I drove in 160 + and couldnt feel any shake or anything, the passengers inside itself didnt even feel anything. and ride all around the ghat too that is a very curvy roads ,You will enjoy the ride. I agree Rapid is great, but dont call the cars shitty, each cars has its own good and bad point. Rapid/Vento owners seems to be cornered but get back to reality, who wants to pay a maruthi cars price in maintaining for 5-7 years when you have plenty of other options around including hatchback and re-map if needed to suit your taste ? Who will drive 160-200 everyday ? Do you wish to own a car that would fail in the middle of th night when you drive in strange and lonely land ? U need reliability , what use in having strong body car and if its break down in the night and when you have family traveling with you , what will you do ? People want reliable cars, we can keep these cars like rapid or vento as second cars, primary cars needs to be reliable. And nobody can beat Toyota and Honda and yes, if you have enough money Volvo Too.

According to my experience Skoda rapid rider version is a superb deal, you get all the necessary features in this package plus solid build quality.
Maintenance is high only after the 75000 km's as i have mentioned in the video, it requires some major part changes.
Skoda is a very good car compared to its competitors like hyundai and maruti.
I have a swift the cost of maintenance for 120000Kms comes around 120000-150000.....
Every 10000km service cost is 7k approx
Every 20000km service cost is 12k approx
So for 120000 km is 120000km and some running repairs like lights, AC repairs, suspension add upto 30-40k. I always got it serviced at authorised dealer only. Maruti Suzuki Swift is a 7-9 lakhs car and maintenance costs is around Rs 1.2/km for running 150000Kms. And according to video the same for rapid is Rs 1.6/km for 120000 km. Skoda is notoriously known for high maintenance cost but people don't care about the quality. Maruti uses same engine in swift, dzire, brezza, ciaz,baleno. So please try to calculate your total cost of ownership before buying the car and take no tension later. Many people buy Skoda and expect it to have service cost in the range of maruti. BTW great content brother 💪 I am a Skoda fan. Now planning to go for Karoq

Before buying pls check the transmission tunnel on back seat it is so big that you cannot accommodate 3rd person on back seat
First time some one is showing actual bills. Otherwise salesman on RUclips always try to prove that Rapid service cost is equivalent to Maruti.
