Hello Does the end of crankshaft sit flush with the front of the gear. I have been told it does, but the gear sits a bit forward of the shift. I have taken the engine apart and reassembled it again and I get the same result. Everything is fitting together and everything is moving freely. I don't want to glue the gear in place until I know it is right. I will appreciate any advice Regards Michael Australia
There is only 1 way for the crankshaft to fit with the gear and the bracket 3P, the cog has the details facing outwards as per the instructions and this video and mine works fine.
@@JohnsModelmaking Hello Thank you for your reply Yes I have placed the gear on the shift as per key way with detailed side facing out . The crankshaft and pistons move freely. I am just worried because of the gear not fitting flush with the end of the shift and it causes problems with any fitting in the future. Thank you for your response, I appreciate it very much Michael
I have a question, once the model is built how do you refill the steam generators for the smoke? Or is it a case of once the tanks run out they run out?
Do you think the smoke effect is good enough? Others seem to want to mod it, but I don't have the money to keep altering the build, it's dear enough as it is
That smoke generator made me nervous.. I couldn't even tell the smoke was coming out at first.. I don't know if it was necessary but it said use a damp paper towel and sit it on that while pressing the button so I did and that's when I saw smoke
Hi John I've been trying to fit my second engine and just like yours it turns smoothly but when I fit the black base it just won't turn?have taken it apart so many times but just won't turn any ideas of why this is happening? Thanks take care 🙂
I haven't received mine yet Rod, but if you can recall from issue 3 part 3p (end bracket) was the wrong way around, check if that is the problem but other than that wait for my video.
That engine looks really good and there's plenty of parts in this issue . Makes me want to go to the newsagents and buy it even though its on order !
Nice video John yes it did look very tricky that build but you looked like you were having fun! Catch you soon
Thanks 👍 Rod. It was very satisfying to complete it.

Good question. I imagine you can refill but honestly don't know, yet!

I am expecting it to be as advertised which is better than the test in my video.
@@JohnsModelmaking that's my concern having done previous partworks I know the adverts don't always match the released product!
@@craigthornton1971 Yes I understand that.
