Nobody beats the setting, the time setting, and badassery. In gameplay sure the other AC games were better, but when it comes to time, setting, and badassery, and somewhat inspiration, AC1 rules.
Nothing will ever beat AC1 with its grand landscape, dual plot, assassinations and the only assassins creed where stealth-evasion mattered. Especially with the AWESOME mood during the escape after you set up an assassination properly.
Fatal Unknown Assassins Creed is and still one of my favourite franchises of all time storytelling,setting everything was just special but it’s sad cuz they completely massacred this franchise ac odessy and the new upcoming ac valhalla has nothing to do with the assassins or creed but apparently ac odessy tells the origins of how the templars were formed but that’s still not and ac story! thats like making a john wick origin movie or show but instead of having john his dad is the main character “oh but it’s still a john wick origin movie or show cuz the dad is related to wick”! that’s basically what they are doing for me the true ac games are: Assassins Creed,Assassins Creed 2,Assassins Creed Brotherhood,maybe revelations and that’s it ac creed 3 and black flag were alright but i just i don’t know i didn’t enjoy as much as the past OG ac games,oh yh ac origins for some reason reminded of the first assassins creed game origins is also a og game that brought back the roots from the past games.

The reason there was a crossbow in the video but not in the game is because Ubisoft found out just before releasing the game that crossbows didn't actually exist at all during this time period. So they removed it from the game, but this video was already complete, so they kept it in. This style crossbow was not made until the 1500s, I think it was. The Chinese had a repeating crossbow much earlier, but it was nothing like this style.

U maybe can get one thing that when u play it on the tv it will record it when u are playing. dont now i think if u got a recordable vhs,dvd u can record on it and then put it on ure computer and put it togheter

The reason is Ubisoft wanted to do what they could to market their game. When they made the opening video when you turn on the game it might have been made way before the finished product of the game was ever made. My beleif is that instead of using the cross bow, they used throwing knives. That's only my beleif.
@Xephieroth291094 I've did some research and i think the creators decided to limit the weapons to 4 instead of 5 because, the pads on PS and Xbox etc. have 4 buttons. And if you might notice, Altaîr drops his crossbow in the movie after using it. Making the throwing daggers easier to use because of their weight. /Director
Assassins creed 3 will be take place during the American Revolution. The new hero will be a half-mohawk and half-english. So we'll have a new story, new setting, new protagonist, americas version of "Leonardo" and hopefully a new masterpiece. /Director

Never gets old. AC1 will always be one of my favourite games of all time! The combat, the scenery - everything was truly amazing in my opinion!
