I'm not a big Harry Potter fan...but the scene with *Hermione and Harry* dancing to this song was without doubt the most beautiful and innocent moment. I will never understand how they could not end up together ?
i found myself in a mental hospital after losing my memory and this was the only downloaded song on my cell phone. i got my phone for 10 mins a day to call family because they were in another country, but when i couldn't get thru to them, i'd just sit in the little room and listen to this before they came to take my phone away again. i didn't remember "Harry Potter" either, but i did have the visual of them dancing, along with a blur of my memories living in NYC and rushing for the subway and making choices that would change my life in an instant, even though i couldn't remember what those choices were. this is in my soul. thank you nick cave.

This scene perfectly encompasses the situation the characters find themselves in. In the midst of all the chaos and darkness, they are still able to find a moment of joy and escape, however brief. Just as Dumbledore once said, "happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light". Yet, when the song ends, the dance ceases, and the reality hits, they must pick back up from where they left off, a perilous, dim, somber situation. It is tempting for one to dwell in this moment so much as to avoid reality like Hermione once did-"Maybe we should just stay here Harry, grow old". However, we see the characters are eventually able to gather up their emotions and move on, for the beauty of love and friendship, represented by this dance, is exactly why they are fighting. It is a moment of tangency, being where they want to but have to move away.
It's almost unbelievable how much this song fits the scene. There a train station, that place 'in-between two worlds'. King's Cross, it's a really fitting name if you think about it: "cross"...

The cleaners are coming, one by one
You don’t even want to let them start
They are knocking now upon your door
They measure the room, they know the score
They’re mopping up the butcher’s floor
Of your broken little hearts
O children
Forgive us now for what we’ve done
It started out as a bit of fun
Here, take these before we run away
The keys to the gulag
O children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice
Here comes Frank and poor old Jim
They’re gathering around with all my friends
We’re older now, the light is dim
And you are only just beginning
O children
We have the answer to all your fears
It’s short, it’s simple, it’s crystal clear
It’s roundabout, it’s somewhere here
Lost amongst our winnings
O children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice
The cleaners have done their job on you
They’re hip to it, man, they’re in the groove
They’ve hosed you down, you’re good as new
They’re lining up to inspect you
O children
Poor old Jim’s white as a ghost
He’s found the answer that was lost
We’re all weeping now, weeping because
There ain’t nothing we can do to protect you
O children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice

when I hear this song, I immediately remember the first scenes from the first Harry Potter movie and this song, as if I were going through it with him again and again....
❤️❤️❤️
This song is so sad, depressive and nostalgic and match perfect with the harry and hermione dance scene
Indeed,it does !
Kaddi die YT-Queen

~ Ah la musica... Una magia che supera tutte quelle che noi facciamo qui! ~ Albus Silente
Who is Albus Silentó?

Tout à fait d'accord !

Well, after 7 novels, over 2 years, and 600 pages in the last one, Maxime Chattam brought me here 🙌
This song is everything
Amo il poeta Nik Cave..da Il cielo sopra Berlino..Un esistenzialista - cantante.
R.I.P. Arthur Cave. Gone too soon.
I'm so lucky, i knew this song before HP, whenever i listen it, i don't think about a movie. It's more original then a scene.
Still crying...
Shazamed this song while watching Harry Potter, came here, gave it a like and now going to download it. Ok bye.
I'm not quite sure why, but I would definitely want this to be played at my funeral.
This song is so disturbingly beautiful, so striking... The world has always been like that, it's a never-ending combination of innocence and cruelty.
