Hi there. For one particular error message in the manual it says to do to a Reset. However, there's no MPPT reset instructions. How's is that done? I'm not getting any amps and I think I over powered the unit with too many watts of solar.
Hi, Scott. Thank you for your feedback which helps Renogy constantly improve customer experience. I have reflected the problem to our related department and we will improve it soon.
Its unclear HOW you 'scroll down' to the boost settings, and I have never been able to 'scroll down' on my controller after the long press on the right arrow and the down arrow does not go to any boost settings, this is a written script read by a glassy eyed talking head who does not really explain what he is trying to clarify. He belabors the obvious and...Anyone who can help, my controller shows good panel output and has totally stopped charging the batteries. No error messages. But a low battery does generate the low battery message and yet after charging them with an alternator, still no solar output, not .5 amps!

Hello Renogy. I have 3 x 30amp Renogy Rover MPPT solar controllers. I can't seem to program the parameters as descripted in the manual. I press and hold the right button and all I get is the ability to change battery type and (voltage (12v/24v)). What am I doing wrong? I'd really like to set the battery parameters...boost etc.

Why is it this guy in every single video says scroll up or scroll down while he's hitting a right or left button? Can't they find somebody smarter? When you say scroll down am I supposed to hit the down button or am I supposed to hit the right button? Do you know the difference between right, left, up and down? Owning equipment made by this company is the most frustrating experience of my life! And everybody who has asked me about owning equipment from this company that is exactly what I tell them for two years now.
Hi, customer. Thank you for your feedback which helps Renogy constantly improve customer experience. We have reflected the problems to our related department. We will pay more attention to the details later in our video shooting.
Agreed! I have been using several of the older Renogy MPPT controllers with FLA batteries since 2016 with no issues at all. I bought a new 40A Rover in order to charge several LiFePo4 batteries. The manual was obviously written by a team that has never actually operated this controller. None of the instruction steps seem to coincide at all with how the controller actually reacts when the front panel buttons are pressed. Bad firmware? Or (?) Frustrating! BTW - I'm not a complete idiot with power electronics - I worked as an engineer in the defense industry designing power converters and transformers for 40 years... Edit - I forgot to mention (snarkily) that the titling on this video seems to have been written with the same attention to detail as the manual - "use" is U-S-E - not U-E-S!
@@mojavegold- the only way I found to make these things in the least bit usable is to custom program them. The preset parameters they provide for sealed, lithium ion or gel batteries are useless. Particularly if someone has AGM batteries and follows the instructions to use the sealed lead acid parameters. Over the course of time this ruins your AGM batteries because they never become fully charged. I wish I had never made the investment in this equipment but I'm stuck with it for a while and just trying to make the best of a poor decision on my part.
Hello Renogy, I bought a 60A MPPT charge controller from the company on Amazon back in 2019, I used it for awhile off and on for a few years then put it away in late 2021. I purchased an array of 4 x 190 watt Solar panels and decided to start using it again with my battery bank. Recently I have been having issues with the controller getting stuck at charging only at 1 watt, no matter how I configure my Solar array. I noticed this strange phenomenon when I connected a small 10 watt panel and a few smaller 2 watt panels in series/parallel configuration to achieve close to 15 watts. I had them connected to a 12 volt/200AH LiFePo4 Battery and noticed it would get stuck at 0.02A and about 1 Watt of charging power. I just assumed the panels were too weak to provide much power to the battery, so I disconnected them but was still puzzled. I then connected 2 x 190 Watt Solar panels in a series configuration to the controller and 1 x 12 Volt/200Ah LiFePo4 Battery. and it still says 1 watt, and the max current I saw from the panels was 0.06A. What could be causing this issue? I never bought the protection plan, and I am sure my warranty expired long ago, but after purchasing the new panels I cannot afford any new charge controller. I called the support line, and also messaged as well as asked a question on Amazon in hopes of getting some help on the issue. I am just very discouraged and frustrated with the whole situation and it will be awhile before I can afford a new controller. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
