It seems to me that a person could live in many rural areas here in the USA on a similar budget ($2000-3000 per-month). I know many who live on less.

That's very true, I am an example myself of that in these hard times, and I don't even live in a rural area, I live in a big city in the United States yet in a safe area and I'm not even retired yet and I pay $535.00 for my rent per month, I am a member of this couples information because the SLOW TRAVEL is what appeals to me, to be able to see the world by staying in a country for a month or less on a budget is attractive but I could never live in non of these countries long term, maybe mexico cause its just next door, there is really good pros about foreign countries but there is also cons that they don't talk about like bad quality water and very bad air pollution and food poisoning, getting bad fevers because of foreign mosquito bites and many other cons, this type of information is very good and I appreciate it but it is overrated, there are many safe good areas that are golden gems to live in on a budget here in the United States that are in good sized cities that are not over crowded, where drugs and crime and homelessness is not very common, you just have to know where and do your due diligence like I have

@@ccrider8483 but what about healthcare prices? Food prices and quality? Ability to walk anywhere anytime living without a car? I don’t know how anyone can manage living on 2k per month in the US. Do you ever buy new tires for your car? New phone? New clothes? Do you get free food from food banks? I only buy essential groceries and I spend 900 per month on food. Rent in my area is 2k for a studio. Gas, car service, clothing, insurance - I need at least 4k to survive. If I owned a paid-off house and a paid-off car like greedy boomers do - I could survive on 2k in the US living a very boring vanilla life.

Sounds like the bills are very similar to France except a little more on cell service and then in FR the transit is higher. Could you add some detail on quality for future videos? Cost of food without knowing if it's chemically treated and without some closeups of the market prices as you go through the market doesn't really tell the home economist what they need to know. The details on the transport costs was very helpful.

@@VagabondAwake I think overseas retirement is still for adventurers, people who have traveled a lot during their life. Especially for Americans, less for Europeans who can easily experience other cultures.
Amazing there are 1.7 - 2 million American retirees in Mexico, with all its issues (violent crime, cartels, open poverty). Those expats are doing a good bit of economy-propping up. Home prices in Baja are crazy high.

looks like a good place to stay for a westener , i dream of retiring early by living on a budget and looked intoo thailand vietnam , phillipines , poland , belarus , malta , greece all of these are cheaper overall compared to the netherlands varying from 25 to 50 percent cheaper but im not sure if i could live there happily , biggest thing for me would be if i can get by speaking english german or dutch , the type of foods available , internet , transportation , overall weather , general cleanliness and health insurance/distance to heathcare
i know that once i have the funds to retire those funds can schrink dramaticly if i get ill the heath insurance in thailand for expats is pretty steap and excisting heathissues (like diabetic astma or hearth disease) whont get insured
im invested some in crypto and depending on how "rich" i end up i might decide on a cheap "homebase" country and travel other places from there , definetely whont stay in the netherlands if i can help it as im not dependant on staying there and the taxes fines and general way the goverment acts on wishes of the people and encoach on youre freedom or block ways to improve youre quality of life with new rules and regulations just rub me the wrong way
