Hi good video review.
My flat is a new build. Not sure what drill bit to use for my living room walls ?
Cheers
What's the walls made from ??
@@MrandMrsDIY
Hi thanks for your reply.
The wall in the living room . Feels like Drywall. As I can easily push a drawing pin... into the wall.
Cheers
I have metal studs and want to install similar floating shelfs...shall i just screw through the metal stud as a plug wont fit due to metal stud...the screw should hold the metal brackt of the shelf?
Hi mate, sounds like a tricky job! I would consult the manufacturer of the shelf to see what they recommend, cheers
Why glue These shelves when they come with screw holes to hold them into the brackets when fitted.
How are you getting those off the wall at a later date now you've screwed all the screws behind the shelving, you going to knock the plaster off
We put the glue on the brackets because there designed poorly and loose, when left use resting on the brackets they hang down forward a bit and bottles can slide off, so the glue makes them stronger, ive fitted about 50 of these though my rented properties and its the only thing that works
What is the FINAL scew being drilled into? 🤔 The bracket didn't look like it had and extentions other the round bars.
Its a small Gromit screw that go's though the shelf into the metal brackets inside
Wonderful
Thanks hun
Hi mate how do I know which drill bit to use to drill through the wall?
And which glue do I need exactly?
Thanks
Use a masonry drill in brick and block work, and use ether 3C's Maxbond or there Multi Use would work well
That envelope idea is genius! Subscribed just for that
Hahaha no problem!
If there’s two of you, you can also have one person hold the vacuum at the drill site. 😂 This is my only job when my husband starts drilling around the house.
Can I do this on a dry wall and no stud area?
Yes certainly, have your walls been dot and dabbed with plaster boards over the block work
You’re supposed to keep screwing the nail into the dry wall anchor even when it is all the way in or the anchor doesn’t activate and then retract the screw a little to hang
Depends on what one you're using, some of the cheap lack shelves bend downwards due to the poor quality of the metal
What kind of glue was it? Was it wood?
3C's Multi-Use!
Do I have to look for stud to install shelves or can I just hang anywhere?
Took me four days to drill the holes into concrete lol
Four days? Which drill-bit were you using?
I don’t have a wire detector?!!!!!
Before attempting to drill, make sure there are no pipes or wires behind where you've selected. A £10 pipe detector won't cost as much as a burst pipe or an electrical problem!
Silverline tools!!
Yes they are, however we aren't working with SL no more.
@@MrandMrsDIY yes, neither are we lol
Type of glue? Is that gluing to the wall?
Maxbond from 3C, no not quite gluing it to the wall, mainly just the bracket as they sometime feel loose when just the shelf is sat on it.
