  • Here's Lea, one of my AI assistants, to give an update on where I'm at with my new novels and screenplay.
I've nearly finished the first draft of my next novel, a ghost story. Unlike Ama, this one isn't filled with extreme gore and brutal violence. It's more of a psychological horror story. Okay, there's a bit of violence, but not like in Ama. Without giving away too much, it’s about a guy haunted by a traumatic event from his past. As he tries to move forward, he uncovers a dark secret about an old house and the people who lived there. He gets pulled into a situation where he needs to bring the secret to light. The story dives deep into loss, regret, and the ghosts-both literal and emotional-that haunt us.
For my other novel, I'm in the middle of a rewrite. Originally, I wrote it in the first person, but I’ve decided that style doesn’t really suit me anymore. I hit 50,000 words before changing my mind, so there’s a lot of rewriting ahead, and I’m still figuring out where the story is headed. No details yet-it’s still taking shape.
And finally, the screenplay for Ama. I’ve been using ChatGPT to help with it, and it’s really paying off. I had thought my screenwriting skills were decent-though maybe not Hollywood-level-but good enough to make someone pause before tossing it in the rejection pile. Now, with ChatGPT’s help, the screenplay is shaping up nicely. I might even send it out for fun, but the plan is still to make the film myself using AI.
