Illuminates are fun to fight, kind of a mixed bots and bugs playstyle.
Enemy types are bit limited but thats just because of the event and they will probably add more soon as harvester spawn in way lower diffs too
Yeah it doesn't seem like difficulty matters right now. Theres just as many enemies on 5 as 10 right now in both type and quantity.

@yashimanarada5112 we're still waiting on the illusionist since its model was leaked awhile ago.
They most likely have a few more enemies hidden since they removed a bunch of stuff from the files to avoid leaking.
Yes faction is insanely fun to fight, just a tad more variety (maybe something in the heaviest class or the lowest class of enemies) tgey feel like fighting bugs while attcking an automaton outpost lol, also they tanky as heck (the grunts/ovreseeres)

It's only the planet and new enemy that have changed which added new stuff to the game, if you go fight the terminids and bots you still do the same stuff, still the game is one of the best that we ever got in our lives.

@ericsmith116 Unfortunately I'm staying at their house, looking after the dogs while their on a cruise. I need the cash for a new graphics card.
They need to fix a terrible problem with the map optimization(not exclusive to this update). You’ll run into certain portions of maps and the frames just start $hitting the bed to the point that the game is unplayable(drops to like 10 fps). I’ll be running at 60-80 frames a second and step over a rock and fps instantly tanks, then step back over to where I just was and the frames are instantly back. I’ll be having such a good time just to have it all $hit on because there is a region of the map that is literally unplayable and I have to rely on the other team members to do any objs in that area(this applies to plenty of different planets). At least these frame drops make sense given the asset density, but yeah, the cities are quite taxing.
@ yeah, on bot planets where nothing is going on, it makes absolutely no sense though.

The illuminate feel deceptively easy right now. Either AH we're pulling punches making sure they weren't overtuned, or we're about to get a rug pulled from under us.
Probably not all of the Illuminates, it is probably only their vanguard…

Illuminate rn are just a pushover or the hardest faction in the game

they have 5 units right now. I'm assuming there are more that will flesh them out a bit and probably fill the gaps they have. I know HD1 had stuff that looked like dragoons or stalkers from Starcraft.

The Mech changes tell me once again Arrowhead doesn't know why mechs suck in the first place.
Either give it faster cooldown or more ammo. Justify it taking up a whole Strat slot.

I feel like they are working towards being able to repair/rearm them in the field because I agree, without being able to sustain them somehow they really don't have the staying power to take up a stratagem slot with the long cooldown and limited use.
17:00 Yea I think they need to make that blue spot either larger or make it to where more damage is being done when you hit it. I think with the illuminates, once the shields are down, everything should be weaker than bots.
The eye is not the thing to aim for. The weak spot is the leg joint at the body. once shields are down 2-3 autocannon shells kills them.
They don't need to be weaker than bots. Aside from the zombies, there are less enemies overall because they are tankier and have higher health pools. This is fine to me honestly.
it has the same logic as other enemies, the giant/glowing/OBVIOUS weak spot has a higher health pool than another area that is just as weak. in this case the leg joints. Like charger legs or hulk arms or strider underbellies

Is it just me or are there major issues with animations playing at like 20 FPS or something? Even some of the zombie animations looks like it's very low FPS.
Yeah my fps would dramatically change zooming in on some weapons, and the animations just look like they were rushed a bit.
I noticed that as well I wonder if they did it for performance gain bc I noticed 10 squids was harder to run on my PC than 10 bots
there also miner bug where broken terrain in the city can still be hit and block shots even tho its broken. Both my friend and I blow ourselves up on a invisible guard rail even tho it was broken.

I love fighting them, they are the perfect mix of buggy’s and bots, the crowds are easy to clear but the overseers, especially the flying ones, are pretty dangerous as well as the harvester
The railgun felt like shit when I used it on 10 takes too long to kill an elite squid and ammo economy is not good when primarily using it for squid targets, HMG felt really solid you can take out a bunch of the elite squids before needing more ammo and it shreds the energy shields fast but it’s not exceptional at killing harvester tripods. Seems like taking one or 2 RR or spears would be ideal on 10 to deal with the tripods and ships that the Sams don’t get
So it looks like the the eye of the harvester (tripods) have a lot of health but low armor whereas the leg (first segment connecting to main body, unarmored portion) seems to be significantly weaker in comparison. Someone did a video test to show the amr killing the harvester in like 4shorts (very quickly) by shooting at the leg. I havent tried the leg with the RG yet but I do agree with you that it felt like crap. Seems that the harvester has the same 'weakpoint' like the charger where the orange bulb isn't a true weakpoint lol

use the railgun on the legs of the tripod they go down in a few shots

The enemy counts just seem extremely low even on super hell dive compared to bots/bugs. Really hope they can increase it as i was dissapointed by how underwhelming it was
Also the voteless AI is useless and doesnt seem to attempt to cut or angle the player off in any way when chasing. The voteless hordes dont do anything which is a shame also
They don't have nearly the amount of units they are supposed to, there's like 4 enemy types, as the game said it isn't a full on invasion, I think the rest maybe weren't ready yet, but theres multiple enemies leaked that are missing, I think they'll come when they actually invade with full force
I died one time against them. They're fun to fight but they miss their shots a lot
The harvesters are actually super easy to handle, medium pen weapon or higher on a shoulder, blow the limb of they go down easy. You can run in with the Halt even with tesla armor and now all it'll do is try to taser you and you just blow the leg off in like 7 shots
The way this faction is designed is so refreshing and fun, it’s difficult not in a “that was bs” way. And the shields and heavy squid enemies force me to use different weapons and diverse builds I normally would never do in bugs or bots. Sound track is my favorite in the whole game, feels like Helldivers zombies especially in those defense and blitz missions. The concept of melee horde zombies mixed with strategist ability and ranged higher tier enemies that have unique mechanics compared to other factions with shields and the terrifying tripods, it’s insane. Yes obviously it needs more enemy variety but I wouldn’t call this an oversight, obviously they plan to add more and we’ve already seen glimpses of them through the leaks we’ve had for months now. The only thing I’m a little iffy about is how the weapons affect the enemies, I know we are still figuring it out, but it just seems weird that things like the recoiless, quasar, autocannon etc seem to do very little compared to their weaker counterparts, and no I’m not talking about against the shields. But speaking of the shields, I’m also confused on what constitutes shield depletion, it seems like it has nothing to do with amount of damage, armor penetration, explosions etc.
"War of the worlds" was mars invades with tripods. "World at war" is probably a WWII documentary :)
The landed spaceships are like Fabs with a shield and the vents are the door. Break the shield, explosive in the door. OR you can probably hit it with an AT round or two anywhere once the shield is down too. Also, I think you might be able to break the Tripod legs with the GL.
you gotta hit the door, it's like old fabricators. The hulls tank all kinds of damage.
going off of all the Melee zombies around, Blitzer shotty may be ideal and have a heavy support to deal with everything else
Might be a glitch or a stealth nerf. Bot stratagem jammers don’t blow up when you destroy the fabricator attached to them anymore.
Waiting for OhDough to gradually realize that they created a faction specifically to be weak to machine guns and assault rifles.

Tenderizer was pretty good, just wish they added more ammo/increase mag size

Good maps and fun faction to deal with, now we just need weapons / stratagems balance/buffs and framerate up too
now that we have the squids, its time for super earth to pull an XCOM and use the materials we can salvage off their broken bodies and ships to manufacture ourselves some god given weaponry!
Wanted the mp5 type smg to be good for the zombies, but if they're too far you don't hit shit and when they're close you hit but they swarm you during the long reload, without the bloom it would be a perfectly fine smg, very sad...
Here's my impression, Why do they sound like the automatons and not somewhat like the illuminate from the first galactic war? Do they know that enemy factions are suppose to be different from one another?

This Illuminate faction is well balanced, not frustrating yet not too easy to play against. 2nd is bugs, and the last is bots, still hate them.
I enjoy fighting the bots way more than the bugs. The bugs satisfy that Starship Trooper itch, but I find the clankers far more entertaining to actually fight.
Well bro, sorry to say, this is only a vanguard force.. illuminates would make bots cry in a corner Back in HD1. Also, they were responsible for making us lose coulpe wars.

AMRs cracked against the illuminate. Can 5 shot the big fucks in the leg joint after the shield is broken (use high rps primary). Also one shots all the medium enemies if you hit em in the noggin.

Anyone else getting constant "current network connection has been lost" errors and then disconnecting? Every SINGLE GAME has given me this message, ever since the update dropped I managed to complete only one mission... barely. Game was running perfectly fine before the update, checked my internet and everything is fine on my side. Wouldn't be Arrowhead if something didn't go catastrophically wrong, every fucking time
Sometimes I can go for awhile without seeing it, but most of the time I get that issue. A lot of times at the end of the game too.
@thepope2412 It's so frustrating. I had zero issues with it before the Illuminate patch and I played every day, now I'm lucky if a game lasts more than a few minutes without peeps running in place or everything freezing 😑

Ngl, a lot of higher skill players making rookie mistakes and quitting mid session.
Surely you're not saying high level players = high skill. I left a couple since my loadout was terrible and it would be both not fun to stay and way worse for my team.

Honestly the enemy spawn counts rn is dissapointing even on super hell dive. Doesnt scratch that itch for destruction and doesnt offer challange to make up for it either. Its a nice change but they need to add stuff or fix it fast

Tried the update, it's still boring....
Pretty much everything about this update feels bad to me. Other than the zombies, but lets face it, if you screw up zombie gameplay, you don't deserve to be making videogames.
I didn't enjoy getting ragdolled around by the new melee unit. I didn't enjoy having attacks from most the guns I tried ping off all of the armour. I didn't enjoy driving the shittest fucking vehicle in any game I've ever played in my life. And I didn't enjoy having to magdump to kill a single enemy.
Didn't enjoy wandering around these boring grid shaped maps. Didn't enjoy having the stratagems scrambled every couple of seconds. Didn't enjoy the learning process. Oh so you can't go between the big guys legs all the time because of the tesla coil dick. Ahhh you can't melee these because they just ragdoll chain you. Thought they were working on ragdoll chains? Ah so there's a new bug where your guy turns into a worm cos of the new ragdoll change.
I mean, that's just not pleasurable to me. Moth in a corridor of flame lanterns kind of learning experience.
if they added just the zombies i would be fine with that, seeing a blue wave running at you gives a rush the bugs should. The illuminate shows the flows of the weapons do to heavy armor units and hoard together at once, hopefully the glazers will claim down some so the devs can hear weapons need buffing.
