Oh it was so comforting to find someone who also didn't quite click with ' the seven husbands of evelyn hugo'! I was actually really sad because I truly did want to love it as much as everyone else but it just...idk. the start was really strong and I liked Celia's character a lot, but It honestly felt like the narrative was just beating me over the head with a stick with the message it was trying to convey - like, I just wish it didn't repeat itself so much and was a little bit more subtle in its themes. I totally understand why it got so popular online tho, and it's lovely to see a wlw romance getting attention for once!❤
I did the same with Diary of An Oxygen Thief- I noped out of that real quick, my only hope is that finding that book on a dude’s bookshelf is an immediate red flag for anyone that’s interested. Whew.
