"When you're haunted, you become accustomed to it, but you never really get used to it." Strangely enough...I understand that. What really got me was the way it just faded at the end, midsentence. Before he could finish writing, he was stricken. *shivers*
This was always the spookiest of your readings to me. Years and years later I still find myself thinking about an unnaturally bright, silver owl watching me from the trees outside my window at night and get a shiver. Props to the author and to the reader, excellently well done for what it is and when it was written.
Me too. He wasn't malevolent, just a watchful companion. The fact that he only got anxious when the main character was getting sick makes me think the owl actually cares about this family.
This tale reminds me of those old New England superstitions about the Eastern Whip-Poor-Will, in that they are birds of ill omen, that can sense when a soul is about to leave its mortal body. This story is proof positive that Creepypasta need not have some malicious, shambling phantasm in order to send chills down the spine. A great addition to the series.
This is a genuinely creepy rendition! I really like the combination of actual movie clips and music...I like it more than the still stock photos used by other creepypasta story tellers. It's too bad things got cut off when they did, and I think a bit more variety in voice and pacing would get me into the story a bit more, but it's definitely well done!
i think this may be one of my favorite creepypastas you've done my good sir! it rather reminds me of something that has happened to me several months ago, so i really strikes a chord with me. that, coupled with your amazing talent for creepypasta, has convinced me to favorite this masterpiece. as always, i look forward to your future videos
I like your creepypasta videos, I don't feel they try to actually frighten, but just to create a creepy, contemplative mood, which I really appreciate. It lingers. It helps that some of the ideas in the stories are so fun to think about. What I was really wondering was, where did you shoot the gravestones from near the beginning? Do you have any other pictures of that graveyard? I really like some of the designs, they're very different from any I've seen :)
Your voice always sounds so lovely and peaceful, and that makes it worse. I swear, if you were to read me the phone book, the tiny hairs on the back of my neck would stand up, just waiting for something terrifying to happen.
In my case, I'd say I've gotten used to having ghosts around. In fact, I get more nervous if something odd hasn't happened in a long while, more like a "Ok, what's keeping them away?".
"I can even see it smiling, if you can imagine an owl smile. I can't imagine what that means, though. I think I can guess" - *completely flips his shit because of horrible Fourth Kind movie experience*
I'm mexican-american and I have been told the stories of la llorona since I was a really young, and another thing my family told me was about the lechusas, which is another word for owls in spanish. They said that they are actually whitches that transformed into owls and that if you hear one screech as it passed by, it could mean a bad omen if it is black and a good omen if it is white. Superstitions, but I still can't help feeling scared whenever I hear and see a screeching owl fly over
I live out in the woods, and during the video, a screech owl [which, let's all admit, they sound VERY scary at 3 in the morning] screeched and it made this far scarier. ...I think I might watch My Little Pony now to calm myself ;_;
This is a little upsetting considering there is an owl that lives outside my window. I can hear it at night, one time it scared me to death making this weird chicken sound. xD
You claim that the contest is still open. Does that mean you are going to film more than three of our creepypastas, or does that mean one or both of the remaining slots are open?
@ people talking about MCP. MCP doesn't give credit and acts obnoxiously when asked to give proper credit to writers. this guy already has proven he is much much better than him.
I've followed your advice and I've heard the Otis Jiry version of your story. Ryan only changed one sentence of your story, and the general feeling of it is still pretty much intact. It is a great tale and I love it, either version.
No. Vicious, like an asshole, changed the ending to my story. That's not really what the owl does. Look up another narration of the story. I recommend Otis Jiry's version.
Um ya...his grandpa went crazy so he saw the owl....now the sons old and he sees the owl. It's him slipping into senility....and he knows it at the end so he hopes his grandson never had to see it. Oh, spoiler btw.

I love how this video has no dislikes. What's not to like about this video? This the the best Creepypasta yet.

Kinda gives you a looming uneasy feeling, especially when it starts moving and smiling towards the end.
I'm been waiting for these contest winner pastas to show up! I love all your videos, but the creepypastas hold a special place in my very soul!
PLEASE: Keep doing more of these, because they're The Twilight Zone reincarnated.
Gorgeously performed and shot, and really underrated. PachucoDesiigns did a really great job with the story. A classic in my eyes.
Vicious516, thank you for introducing me to creepypasta all those years ago. I appreciate it so much and I hope you are doing good man.
Your work was really great! I hope you continue writing more!
The Owl is death, but... It might also be a guardian, keeping you safe under its gaze until you're run your course.
This was well worth the wait of your absence. Very cool indeed
This is great, thanks. I like how you filmed the trees and houses. And made them all stuttery.
Someone did a reading of this on RUclips a little while back. I really liked this one. Great job on the reading/video Ryan.

You are so soft-spoken Ryan. Really makes a story worth listening to. :3
About time you made more creepy pasta.
please make more i been waiting years and years for more
Woot! woot! I've been waiting for this.... or should I say "Hoot! Hoot!"? :P
I like your creepypasta videos, I don't feel they try to actually frighten, but just to create a creepy, contemplative mood, which I really appreciate. It lingers. It helps that some of the ideas in the stories are so fun to think about.

Well. That was delightfully creepy. Well done, both of you.
You and MrCreepyPasta need to collaborate on something.
Yes. If the Contest is still open, I would like this more than anything.
i really like the way u read these stories bro real fucken awsome! u should do more! ALOT MORE!!!!!
I think I can guess" - *completely flips his shit because of horrible Fourth Kind movie experience*
and did the owl watch him use the bathroom...
That would have made a better premise than "the inevitability of death"
reminds me a little of the movie "the fourth kind"
because of the "smiling" part :3
great one though.
I believe in spirt guardians. He is probably a protector, or maybe even your grandfather.
finally thank you vicious
Fuck yeah mate! More Ryan Murphy madness!!!

Sounds like the government. Looking out for you and doing good, but also watching you to make sure you don't make any mistakes.
And then the owl said, "You must move your house to the lee of the stone!" Seriously, though, good story and good telling thereof.
wow . . . um . . . that was fricking . . . okay, i will never look out my window the same way again.
Well played.
its been a while since ive seen one of these
6:53 Is that horse man in the top window? I'd hope so.
Vicious, you're such a hoot.
That was fucking good. Bravo!
the owl may have your grandfather watching over you
"Now that I..." now that you what, Ryan? D:
This doesn't sound like it was written by someone old enough to have their elderly grandfather die in the 30's.
Can't decide if it is good or bad.
If the stories are presented to me, I just might do both.
Guys, IT'S THE COSMIC OWL!!!!
It's hard to hear you over the music...
I wanna hear the full story
I guess the Owl collects the souls of the old.
I live out in the woods, and during the video, a screech owl [which, let's all admit, they sound VERY scary at 3 in the morning] screeched and it made this far scarier.
...I think I might watch My Little Pony now to calm myself ;_;
A barn owl is creepier than a horned owl
Should have thought not to have watched this at bedtime- I saw the named after a date post midnight and it was a godawful night.
I couldn't catch the last few words. It sounded like he just trailed off.
I hope I get to see my entry.
Do you know the Story about Mayonette?
This is a little upsetting considering there is an owl that lives outside my window. I can hear it at night, one time it scared me to death making this weird chicken sound. xD
Is this why my dog is so afraid of Owls? When i take him outside at night and hears one he runs inside and just growls the rest of the night :I
You claim that the contest is still open. Does that mean you are going to film more than three of our creepypastas, or does that mean one or both of the remaining slots are open?
great now i won't be able to sleep
I've always seen owls outside of my window...... this may explain why......
@ people talking about MCP. MCP doesn't give credit and acts obnoxiously when asked to give proper credit to writers. this guy already has proven he is much much better than him.
I've yet to see MCP change the entire ending of a story on a whim and completely without permission to do so.
Ri Dragon
Agreed.
I've followed your advice and I've heard the Otis Jiry version of your story.
Ryan only changed one sentence of your story, and the general feeling of it is still pretty much intact.

He had no business changing anything.
But thank you.
feels like a metaphor for a god
OMGZ IT IS!!! :D
BUT WHO WAS FONE???
Good.
I always liked the owl.
indeed
"The owls are not what they seem."
thumbs up if you get that reference ;)
Sillent hill...
The nope train is here!
Close encounters was about aliens that kinda maybe resemble owls. Maybe. It also sucked. This is about an owl.
Trippy birdie trippy birdie trippy birdie trippy f****** birdie trippy
(my world is grey[my hell is grey)
Music was a bit too loud, I had a hard time hearing you.
Pahahah, transcribe audio on: "Always nagging at you, spend your money" Subliminal messages D:
could be both.. different cultures.. different stories ya know
i love you :D and i love mrcreepypasta....and he loves me :) cuz he knows if he doesnt love me....i'll find him, do you love me? you should :)
Maybe he is insane? Maybe...
the owl seems more good..... just the presentation was scary
I thought this story was vaguely sweet. I don't know why, I just don't see the owl as malevolent.
someone watched Close Encounters
6th months ive waited 6th months what ever happened to the thing where we send you our storys
Woot
yah its was fucking genious
Judging by the story it's probably both
NOW THAT I WHAT D:
so the owl was going to kill him ?
No. Vicious, like an asshole, changed the ending to my story. That's not really what the owl does. Look up another narration of the story. I recommend Otis Jiry's version.
okay
Um ya...his grandpa went crazy so he saw the owl....now the sons old and he sees the owl. It's him slipping into senility....and he knows it at the end so he hopes his grandson never had to see it. Oh, spoiler btw.
Jon Axsom but he started seeing it when he was 7? that's a little young for senility.
Let's not put brony shit into this, please.
Aside from that, that's pretty intense. That happened to me too.
Do not want
you must be deaf then
do smile dog or jane the killer or maybe jeff the killer WITH jane the killer
first?
