Fun fact: This is a prequel to the storyline of a couple of Second Doctor stories in the classic series. The Abominable Snowmen and The Web of Fear. An origin story for The Great Intelligence, the bad guy in these stories. The lunchbox with the London Underground makes so much sense if you know those stories. The Doctor is literally creating and safeguarding his own past with that lunchbox 😎
It's such a shame the story feels muddled and for the great intelligence to have evolved from sentient snow is super underwhelming. I much preferred the fan canon where the Intelligence was a being from before the universe began, who lost its form in the big bang and has been searching for a new one ever since. Sentient snow? @@kaledmasterme i think sentient snow is much more interesting as a concept than a generic "great old one from before the universe" character. The idea of snow that learns and mimics eventually creating a consciousness that then becomes separate from the snow itself is way more interesting to me.
