Thanks for making such an in depth review! I'm glad that you like it. The Page of Pentacles is written on the side as that is how it is written in Tarot de Marseille decks. The Three of Swords is also a nod to Alejandro's Tarot de Ambiguities deck.
I love the detail he took with keeping the text on the Page of Pentacles as it was in the Tarot de Marseille. The deck is very intriguing. 😊 Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Thank you for your excellent review! As an artist and tarot creator, I deeply value this kind of feedback, as it offers valuable insight into my work. 😍🙏🏻 I’d like to address some of your questions regarding the colors and elements in certain cards. If you compare my deck to the RWS tarot, you'll notice that the background colors align with those found in the original RWS cards. Regarding the bell on the beggar’s neck in the 5 of Coins, take a closer look at the original RWS version of this card, and you'll see it there as well. Historically, such bells were worn by the sick to alert others of their presence, which adds a more somber and negative tone to the card’s meaning. 🥲 Interestingly, while the RWS tarot is the most reproduced and adapted deck by artists, I rarely see this detail carried over in RWS clone decks. As for the 3 of Swords, I have to admit that it is my least favorite card in the RWS deck. 😅 That’s why it’s the only card where I decided to take a different approach. My version draws more inspiration from the suite of hearts (cups) in my previous deck, Tarot des Ambiguïtés, also published by Artisan Tarot, rather than from the RWS. Lastly, the placement of the Page of Coins title on the right side of the card follows the TdM tradition, where the title for the Page of Coins is always placed on the side instead of at the bottom. Once again, thank you for your thoughtful review-it was much appreciated! 🫶🏻
Thank yo so much for the additional information. As I am still relatively new to tarot I do miss those details in the RWS cards. You did an amazing job in creating this deck. As a RWS tarot reader, this deck is one I can use immediately. I am very curious to see how we work together. Thank you for taking the time to comment and provide some insight on your artwork.
