Those 3 vs Essendon are painful as a Bombers fan. Also represent some of the last days that the Bombers were actually relevant, which is depressing - being so long ago. Arrogance cost the Bombers in 99' and, although they were able to redeem themselves the following year, arrogance is still costing Essendon to this day.

Depressing to watch that the last time the Bombers were relevant was 20+ years ago.
They lost twice by 1pt in the same series (1996). Sounds about right to me. They make it (e.g 2021, 2019) they just haven't won in a long time.
