    Pierre is absolutely correct; in an annual report called "The State of the Forest in Canada" it states: "Drawing upon scientific evidence, data, and metrics, this report deconstructs the government’s overly positive portrayal of the Canadian forestry sector. It introduces the basic factors Canada omits from these annual reports to arrive at its self-congratulatory conclusions, presenting evidence that the actual state of the forests is far more complex and worrisome, and the logging industry far less sustainable, than the government claims." Basically it states that “The Federal Government Is Risking The Well-Being Of Future Generations By Failing To Accurately Report On The Degradation Of Forests In Canada."
    It also comes with a wide array of Policy Recommendation which are Transparent, Comprehensive, and Balanced. The problem is that the government doesn't seem interested in applying good forestry management, and instead would rather utilize poor forestry management to fuel their unscientific and often blatantly partisan climate change narratives. This is unacceptable, as the state of our Boreal Forest should be a top priority, because the Boreal Forest is the Earth's largest terrestrial carbon storehouse, storing 208 billion tons of carbon annually, or 11% of the world's total, whereas Canada only contributes 1.5% to the world's total. But we will NEVER hear of this from our current federal government, in fact they go through immeasurable means to keep information such as this out of the public eye. WHY ?
    I would go into it, but I think you already know Why !

    With the 8 billion dollars going to a liberal environmental slush fund with no results and accountability; that money could buy 27 Canadair CL-415 water bombers and give our military pilots valuable air time to practice flying skills. There are TWO MARS water bombers (mothballed by the Trudeau regime) and are located BC Aviation Museum, but again due to indifference by the NDP government, they failed to negotiate a contract with the private owners. And now Canada has wildfires burning tremendous amounts of forests that consume CO2 all because of indifference and pride of a government officials not buckling down to a private owner. So much for their cause to the environment! Pierre Poilievre is absolutely on the mark when it comes to forest fires and working with the aboriginal communities in these areas.

    Forest fires. Satellite infra red fire detection has been in place for well over 20 years. The satellite detection system replace forestry observation towers years ago. Those historical observations towers are on display in places like Falkland BC, Kaslo BC. The satellite detection system sends a signal to forestry department giving the exact location. When slashing and burning your required to inform the forestry department and permit #is issued.
    A helicopter with a water bag can be dispatched during the early detection.the fire can be out within the hour for roughly a cost of about $1500.00 use of helicopter and pilot coming out of any rural airport. Pilots thrive on being able to fly any pilot would jump at the opportunity.

    BC has a problem coordinating the manpower and equipment it has in place now. Crews told to stand down for a couple days, being pulled from a smaller easy to put out fire to go off somewhere else, leaving it to burn and grow. Enough stories have come out that it is pretty obvious that it is incompetence at best, part of the narrative at worst.

      @@stephjobin2789 The logging companies leave so much unburnt fuel on the forest floor, when we stopped doing prescribed burns in the 80 things started to get worse. Yes, global warming is a thing, however forestry practises need to be investigated also. I spend a lot, a LOT, of time in the back-country and it is a mess. Fuel everywhere.

    They learned from tofino and port alberni when their fires blocked the community off for weeks due to slide risk after the fires last year. They ran out of supplies nothing was getting in or our and road closures went on for months. I wouldn’t wait for PP to become PM when your looking at a whole new season on the horizon. That community should be well stocked and prepared now.

      A disgrace is the fools that believe carbon tax will stop forest fires Had Canadian sold LNG to Germany China and India they could have cut their emissions by half a real number not some political BS

  • @edaiston

    And not a word about climate change . How convenient for a party that wants to increase oil and gas production which will increase the probability of more and larger fires.

    • @rldukes4

      I agree fully! We should raise the carbon tax way up and then the climate will be great! China , India and the USA are so wanting us to do our fair share and save the earth!!!

      Really LoL if only Canada could switch China and India to LNG they could cut their emissions by half a real number not pie in sky BS from Liberal’s and NDP Here a piece of information for you only two provinces that actually lowered their emissions Alberta and Saskatchewan have they’ve done it through technology B.C. that had carbon tax for 16 years still see their emissions going up

    • @tracywatts1459
      @tracywatts1459 Месяц назад

      Ya and plants need carbon for photosynthesis so ZERO carbon is the only goal . When plants release oxygen that feeds fires so we need way less oxygen to.

      @@peterbutz642 cause the population keeps going up by mostly Vancouver immigration. Also we get emissions from Seattle and LA in BC. I am on the island and spent a few weeks in the summer socked in by smoke from the California wild fires if we are getting their smoke you can’t deny we get their emissions. So I take offence to that comment. the entire west coast of BC. is especially environmentally conscious and we have no oil.
