Mike, Joe at Curtis Tactical does great work. What you had made is a spin off of what I had requested. Please see my page for details: www.c3junkie.com/?page_id=244
I called Curtis Tactical but as you probably know he is in the hospital so i went to GSL Technologies and they are building me a Sten mk2 suppresed barrel. He is in the hospital also but the workers are still going at it. My question is i want the canvas hand guard wrap for suppressor. Can't find one not even material to make one. Any input?
What happened to this guy been a year since last upload. First time seeing it and he has some great videos
@@Hogbellylife he has been busy with work and family and enjoying life. Hey wait! That’s me! 😀
@@MachineGunMike amazing videos hope to see more.
The suppressor improves its aesthetic a lot.
I agree
@@MachineGunMikei concur.
agree it looks kinda cool now
@@adamlach6572 grease gun always looks cool

I’ve always had a weird love for the grease gun, but seeing it with that suppressor..... makes me love it more.
I've always loved the M3 since "Attack Force Z" the little-known commando movie starring a very youthful Mel Gibson.
Going to tell you something, this is the first time that I was not disappointed buy a suppressed weapon video. Love the grease gun and your machinist is a genius ( like most of us) .
Grease Gun: Sorry mike but my suppressor is dummy quiet and everytime I get fired the clap of my action keeps alerting the guards...
The weapon model is escaping me right now, but there was a tactical pistol produced for the military (there could still be pistols with this feature in production idk) I believe it was from H&K, but it had a locking slide on it. So if you were in a sneaky situation you just locked the slide and had to rack it for every shot. It allows you to fire a round from a suppressed weapon and eliminate the sound of the action too. Then you just either slowly rack it so it's quiet, or move to a new position and rack it on the move. Either way it is far more quiet to run the action manually by a long shot lol
@@sward0483 the pistol you're thinking about is a us pilots survival beretta if i remember correctly but forgotten weapons did a video on it
@@sward0483 Welrod ?
@@serhio4275 it was originally a Smith and Wesson model 39 with a hush puppy supressor... they made several different versions with other guns tho especially Berettas or other straight blow back locking pistols
@@justinbarbee5917 very interesting. Thanks
My uncle was in SF and said he carried one in Vietnam for awhile. To help reduce action noise, he said he glued a piece of rubber in the rear of the receiver.
What a great weapon
Condition 0 I LOVE hearing stuff from people that actually used these tools. Thank you.
Damn with a suppressor that quiet you can turn off you camera's mic auto level/gain adjust! Looks amazingly well made.
I think this is one of the coolest weapons ever made.
Joe is absolutely amazing in what he does. I've know him about 20yrs and always a smile and very intelligent.
Every time you post new content it makes me happy. Missed having ya on the platform man
Thanks man
Yea rip Michael
@@MachineGunMike come back daddy
Very cool. An old fella I used to work with at a history museum was an early Green Beret. He mentioned once that he carried a suppressed grease gun, at times, in Vietnam.
I got to shoot a suppressed grease when I was in the Philippines. The Phils still use the ones we left there after WWII. I don't know if the suppressor was OEM or made after the war but it was but it was the old school style using a fenestrated tube with wire mesh wrapped around it. It was cool, but nowhere near as quiet or slick as the one you have here. Amazing work and great video.
Mark AM cool stuff, and thank you.
That sounds like an OSS supressor made for the OSS during ww2 by high standard. Check out forgotten weapons he did a video on it.
You had me at "for my M3A1 submachine gun"!
Mike...wow, that's the first "Hollywood quiet" subgun I've heard. Very cool.
Its like Deja vu all over again.
Notice the lack of muzzle flash coming out of the suppressor
And he was patting the suppressor after firing it as if it wasn't hot or the nerve ends of his fingers are shot.
Actually if you look close right before he says “don’t need these “ you can see some fire 🔥. Damn almost thought it was fake
Thank you Mike for uploading this video for us. I appreciate it very much. That is something I would never get to see otherwise.
Glad I can help ya out!
I miss your content. Best of luck to you wherever life takes you next
Thanks! Everything is good. Just busy. I'll release new videos when I have time again.
Machine gun Mike needs to make videos more often. Glad to see you back Mike!
Time and money man. Time and money.
All action, no gas. beautiful.
Sick dude, and with the can; just sick.
I'm glad you disassemble and show the details of your guns. Seems like too many on youtube wont' do this anymore thinking that disassembling/reassembling firearms will lead to youtube time-outs (I think that applies to videos showing how-to gun mods but I'm not certain on this). Great video as always and your enthusiasm comes shining through!
Im reading a book called SOG The Secret Wars Of America's Commandos In Vietnam. Great book. It mentioned they used the M3 Grease Gun but it was suppressed, i couldn't picture it in my head so I found it here. Very cool and its amazing what the SOG guys did in the late 60's. Complete balls of steel. 🙏🇺🇸
Cool. Thanks.
That book by John L. Plaster, who served in SOG, is fantastic btw!
I love that the can is the same profile as the receiver, very smooth and almost looks original.
Thanks. That was one thing I asked for.
We miss you Mike.
Good channel. Thing that I really like is that the films are not to long and not to short
Come back with more of this please.
Will do!
I had M3 and M3A1’s in my arms room back in 1975 in West Germany.
Never had the chance to fire them but enjoyed the opportunity to handle them.
Mechanized Infantry unit, they were for the recovery vehicle operators as I recall.
Thanks for the story
Mike, awesome M3!!!! The M3 is my dream gun. Its ugly, utilitarian, and extremely effective. I think you did a really good job on the distressed look of the suppressor. Thank you for posting...
You’re welcome and thank you
So we all know what someone spent their tax return on.
Who didn't spend their tax return + stimulus check on a gun? XD
Last time I played with an M3A1 was back in 1978 when I had to qualify in the US Army. What a TON of fun even though we had no opportunity to use a can on them.
I sure wish I could afford one of my own.
Congrats on a GREAT can build!
Thank you!
Now that, is an actual hollywood suppressor!
Dang, do I ever miss Machine Gun Mike videos!!!! Where are you at man?
I'm here. Just too busy with life currently. I'll make more videos eventually when things slow down. Thanks for the support!
I can't say I blame you for liking that.
The sound of silence is great.
Thats is so badass. Prob one of the coolest mechanical action sound. There is virtually no audible ( to my ear on video) that a round is even being fired. Wow 👏
new subscriber, nice video! Good to see that you are still active on youtube, i was scared you had quit youtube for good after seeing your last video was 4 years ago, but after seeing your comments it looks like you will start uploading again one day. Looking forward to it!
Yes sir! Nah never gonna quit. Just busy. And 4 years…..time is starting to fly! I don’t like that.
Thank you for your time.
That actually looks pretty cool
That's a very nice build.
Awesome, sounds as quiet as nail gun with that!
Mike
Very nice can. Almost as quiet as the can on the M3A1 my grandfather brought home from WW2.
He was in a unit in the Marines that was tasked with a very similar job as the OSS. Granddad worked in the Pacific Theater. When he came home from the war he brought a trunk full of of weapons. A Thompson, a. BAR, a TANKER Garand, several 1911s, 2 suppressors for 1911s that are INSANELY QUIET, an INTEGRALLY suppressed M3A1, and a WELROD.
Until he died we had no idea most of the stuff existed in his collection. I knew about the Welrod because he used it to keep stray/wild cats out of his yard and I remembered seeing him use it.
Fortunately granddad was smart enough to register EVERYTHING in 86 when the Amnesty was around.
When he died we found the trunk full of stuff he bought back and I was able to get a "friend" to x-ray everything to check for cracks. Everything was fine so we took them out back to try them out.
YOUR M3A1 is QUIET, but has a lot of spring noise. The one granddad had, makes a bb gun sound LOUD. NO SPRING NOISE or BOLT CLATTER.
When I was in Force Recon I used the MP5SD quite a bit. It is the modern PINNACLE for QUIET. The M3A1 grandad had is so much quieter it is scary. I have built a few cans off the design of the one on that M3.
It has amazed me for years how during WW2 we had such advanced suppressors, yet today there is nothing on the market that is at that level for sound attenuation. The can you now have is RIGHT THERE with the BEST.
To reduce the spring noise, you might want to try lithium grease or axle grease. Get a handful and roll the spring through the grease. Apply it very liberally. It should cut the noise signature significantly. Same thing with the bolt.
Again, congratulations are in order. That is a very nice QUIET can.
Cool information, and treasure that gun!
Hmmm Sir, the "Tanker Garand" was not an military arm of any war including WW2. It was never a variant of the M1 and I'm certain you're mistaken. And a Welrod too?
Mike a nice suppressor thank you for posting the video, liked and shared as always.👍👍👍
Lou Flores Thanks
Ah yes the sounds of silence , excellent video 😊
curtis tactical built me a CZ Scorpion that is very quite and fun to shoot joe does a great job on them .
jabenter1 Yep. Great customer service too!
5:53 I need to turn up my speaker to hear how "quiet" it really is. XD
bubblefish17 😀
That is rediculously awesome! Love it!
Hey Mike! Great video as always. Greets from Germany
Thanks!
Very cool design on the suppressor
Just found your channel from Hickok45! Happy to be here!
Thanks
This gun is so cool~I think it would be the special forces' favourite weapon in the forest of Vietnam.Thanks,Mike.
You're very welcome
perfect for tunnel rats
Thanks Mike!
You're welcome!
Silly quiet!
I want one!
Nice job
nice build
It looks fun. It's basically silent all the noise is from the bolt coming back and forth and blow back.
Oh my! The mechanism and the steel plate is way louder
sweet rig. You muricans have all the fun
These days I get to enjoy a Para Ordnance.45 caliber 1911 and an Octane 45 suppressor.
For those times you don’t want to wake the neighbors while increasing the air flow through certain objects.
Liked your video, the gun is super quiet and you look very cool shooting it.
My literal dream gun
we miss you mike, come back😢!!!
Thanks dude. I didn't go anywhere. Just slammed with work and family. I'll make more videos one day. Just keep in mind they cost me money to make. It's a true labor of love and that's it. :)
@@MachineGunMike I understand, that sucks. We will be waiting😂👍
Looks good. Again good work
Mike! one of the coolest subguns I've seen! And that suppressor looks amazing on it! Pretty sweet how he made it to look like it was meant to be there! Great stuff mike!
Thank you!
Definetly my number 1 choice in twd or tlou
I've got a buddy that has a greaser as well, definitely sending him your video as this is one cool mod!!! If he loves it half as much as you, I know he'll be happy :-) Thank you Mr MGM!!!
Suppressors for all no tax stamps!!! when do we want it? now!!!
Thats a top 5 Fav gun!!
wow that is awesome! first time on watching your content amigo, instant subscriber and of course a regular viewer from now on.
Double thumbs-up from Tamaulipas México
Awesome piece bro.
I was able to shoot one of the M3's with the crank charging handle, it felt great
Very impressive
Dude you have to come back to RUclips! We miss your content!
@@timmiller9666 thanks! I will eventually. I promise. Just no time right now.
I used when I was with the UDTs and Seal working in Laos but primarly in the Cuban situation (60s till 70) swim with it and always was ready,Lopaded with full 45 tracers ,to pinpoit targets. Extrem no noise waepon, Love it!
Super cool. Thank you.
love your content man, take your time with whatever you gotta do and bring more content when you feel comfortable.
Love this video. Love the Grease Gun. Kudos, Mike!
Thumbs-up from 🇨🇦
The Grease Gun: God's gift to the assault team.
Sounds good. All your noise is the bolt reciprocating
Coolest subgun!
You lucky bastard mgm. I'm so jealous, I wish I could have toys like that in Australia
Perfect for survival in the coronapocalypse.
As someone whose chief interest in guns comes from fiction (my most prized possession is the Cimarron repro of the Wyatt Earp Buntline from TOMBSTONE, which has no basis in reality) this is arguably the greatest "steampunk" weapon ever made. The real silenced grease guns had long barrels. This one is weirdly stubby, which makes it great.
Thanks for the video.
Dan Cole you’re welcome
There were quite a few MACV-SOG operators that used Suppressed M3/M3A1 SMG's during Vietnam.
Hope you are ok, Mike. Thanks and stay safe.
All good over here
Now you need to do a suppressed MG42
Not the best idea. Has been done, and it has crossed my mind, but I'm gonna have to pass. Too much stress on the gun already.
Machine Gun Mike maybe if you swapped to a 7.62 conversion and used an OSS helix QD suppressor so it doesn’t destroy the gun
Thank you so much Mike!! I really hope you come out to Arizona for the Big Sandy Machine Gun Shoot. It'd be awesome to meet ya! I promise to clean my drool if you bring some of your weapon's. Keep up the GREAT work my friend. 🤙🤙
ryan moeller I will eventually. It will hopefully become a yearly thing for me and my son. Possibly the wife if I can convince her. That’s the plan at least. Haha.
@@MachineGunMike We have 3 spare bedrooms!! More than welcome to stay at my house if you'd want.
Awesome gun and awesome video. Thanks! :)
That is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hi Mike!
miss you very much. with love, your audience.
Thanks! I’m still around. Just unfortunately, or fortunately, been super busy.
The aging looks great for titanium. Were it steel, you could put a proper plum patina on it with some work, but then it would be 10 ounces heavier. Waiting for the STEN to come through, now.
Yep. I actually am glad it is different, so it's not all plum. Looks more real IMO cause things were naturally made out of different materials. Good thing too is that I don't have to worry about it rusting now ;)
Nice I've always loved suppressed 45s! Probably my favorite ww2 automatic gun, or the BAR
me too.
Very accurate!
awesome mike ! thanks for sharing
Philippine Navy Special Forces' SMG of choice
You imagine hopping back in time and telling a platoon of Gi's to hang on to their M3's (anything full auto) because in about 40 years their $15 stamped steel / sheet metal gun will be worth more than most aircraft cost in 1945
This tool sounds delightful, lol
On single shot it sounds like a paper stapler. 😃👍
Agreed
“Don’t Need These. Really don’t need them.” not referring to the M3 &can . i really need them.
I feel so dirty after watching this gun porn! This is one of my top dream guns w/ can. We still had M3's issued to us in the late 80's. I think the original suppressors were a bit longer and used mesh as baffling (I think... but could be as wrong as an ex wife at a biker bar)
Thanks for the story. I believe you are correct. Cool stuff!
That thing is 🔥🔥🔥
EVERY AMERICAN PATRIOT NEEDS 10 OF THESE.
