Thanks for comment. The park has new management now and is very well run. Glad you enjoyed the video, maybe it will motivate you to go back to the park before another 10 years pass.
el parque lo clausuraron por un incendio q se formo alla hace 4 años en el 2011 :( fue uno de los mejores parque acuaticos q se aya hecho en este pais. RIP columbus
Sorry for assuming. I learned something from you. Never knew that some people put salt water in their pool, which I assume is made by adding salt to fresh water since they don't have easy access to sea water.
II don't recommend moto conchos as too dangerous. Take a guagua. Pass through Sosua and Charamicos and Sosua Abajo. Shortly after you will see a Caribe Tours facility on left. Not a terminal but place where buses park waiting for next trip and drivers wait and rest. Just passed that is waterpark on left and very big gas station on right. Take guagua back to Tradewinds, or take publico. car with red box on top, to Sosua and walk rest of way. Good luck. Enjoy your trip.
The price is RD$350, about US$10. Go on Friday-Sunday, the days it is presently open. I'm sure your group will have fun and get a lot of laughs. Have a good trip, or as we say here, buen viaje (bwen VYA hay)
Good question, but I don't think so. It is quite a distance to the sea. I spent a lot of time there taking these photos and I saw no evidence of anyone having trouble with their eyes, like you might expect if salt water was used.
Tame? Hard to say. Depends on the person. If you parachute out of planes, for example, this is probably tame.If you have gone to waterparks in the US that are, I'm told, bigger, you will probably notice the difference. But compared to lying on the beach for the same period, it is much more fun. Since you indicate you are young at heart, I'd say go, make the most of what is offered, and, I'm sure, have a very good time. It is the best park of its type in the Caribbean.
It is not far. Will you be driving, taking a tqxi, or public transportation (publico or guagua). If you aren't driving, public transportation much, much cheaper. Tell me what your plan for getting to the park is and I will give you specifics.
sorry, I don't mean to sound like a smart allec but, you don't have to live near the sea to have a salt water pool and it doesn't irritate your eyes, so wouldn't be the same with water parks?
toebuCH, it is too bad you got misinformation. However, sometime in the spring the management of rthe park changed hands and the park was closed for maintenance. I think if you went back, you would find a very different park, and you would find water in all the pools that are being used. There is one pool that is not used unless there a very large crowd is expected, but all the rest of the pools are in use. All the activities that I showed in use in the video are in use on a regular basis.
If it's not within walking distance then we will probably hop on a motococho. We aren't planning to rent a car, and enjoy walking as long as it's not more than 10 or 15 minutes away.

This is in Sosua? Wow.
We will be staying at the Palms Condos(close to the Tradewinds) most of next month. How would we get to the waterpark from there?
I just came and visited the abandoned place today. Was wondering if I could use a few photos in my exploration video, would give you full credit
