- Meet the sniffer, an ancient creature that was once part of the Overworld’s ecosystem. Now you can bring back the extinct if you can find its egg! Hatch new mobs, breed them, and figure out how to make the extinct thrive once more. There are decorative plants that only the sniffer can help you grow!

I wish we had more info about the plants. Getting seeds is something you usually don't want in current minecraft but if the sniffer can get you ancient seeds with unique features, it could be really nice.

Frankly this has won me over because the thought of giving an endangered species another chance at life is pretty wholesome and it also helps that its adorable. I know what im voting for this time.
that's exactly my thinking aswell, but not only do we get to give this species life in the game, we also get new plants and eggs for decoration! and we may get to have them as pets (only slightest chance though, im taking a guess with that one)

I think this is the one we should get. The other mobs don't really do a whole lot, but the sniffers come in two different sizes AND have the addition of new plants being added.

As a lore enthusiast, I LOVE the implications that reviving a once extinct creature has for the history and lore! This gives us an opportunity to take a glance into the past of the Minecraft world. Can't wait to see the other potential new mobs.

As a builder in Minecraft and Biology/History nerd, the sniffer really has a friend in me :)
This mob itself gives so much new content and designs(size variants, eggs, new plants overworld and sea etc.). Maybe also archeology lore?.. closest thing to dinosaur we will see in Minecraft i guess.

I don't know what kind of plants and seeds they are talking about but almost no one uses minecraft flowers as gardening aesthetic because they are dull and look lifeless. If you ever seen GoodTimesWithScar's waterlogged coral flower design at his base (to be exact title "Hermitcraft 9 Episode 14: Building My Dream Mega Base!" time 13:00) you see the difference side by side in a picture.

like the Rascal and the Tuff Golem are cool, but they don't really do much
Decorative plants are boring, free enchanted pickaxes can make early game and manhunts cooler

@@epigone1796 Having to search and dig underground, and by the way be lucky enough to find a mine, find the rascal about three times throughout the mine, with the probability that it won't appear, or it will remain bugged and you have to dig to see it, and that at the end of it all, it ends up giving you an iron pickaxe with a poor enchantment that you will surely discard?

I’m actually so hyped. New plants and materials that you could only get through hatching sniffer eggs is such a cool concept. They also mentioned that they thought the sniffer went extinct, so maybe it could have a small role in the archaeology system that they wanted to introduce in the Caves and Cliffs update! Not to mention, the game could always use new plants! I LOVE THE SNIFFER!!!

rascal is objectively more useful. even if it's loot table only consists of enchanted stone pickaxes, that's still infinitely more useful than a bit easier access to seeds.
RASCAL FARMS? if the rascal has a loot table consisting of diamonds (may be possible as it is shown to have enchanted items, a trademark of mineshaft and other chest loot), we could make RENEWABLE diamonds, not just armor and tools from trading.

The sniffer sounds awesome, I love the idea of extra plant life especially for decorating builds. Makes it even better that the features would be additional benefits alongside the mob ❤️
And the gimmick is sick if you read the description. It pretty much says that it does not spawn naturally and the only way to get those new plants is to have the Sniffer sniff them out.

Now that the mobs are being revealed, I'd like to remind everyone to please vote wisely, and, if possible, try to stay away from any big RUclipsrs that don't talk about what the mobs do and how they will change the game and just try to convince you to vote for the mob that they want to be added.

Either way, my word still stands, Vote wisely to avoid another phantom/glowsquid incident and (If you care about the game environment) please research the mobs and how they will affect the game before voting, Some mobs really look cool but don't add much to the game, and remember to be respectful.

I still can't believe that after all these years, none of the other options will say the light of day ever again. Many of them are interesting enough & should not be forgotten by the devs & the community. Nonetheless, this mob looks very appealing & could fit with the archeology update, or at least I hope that's what we will get.

Additions if this mob wins:
-Sniffer mob (different sizes as seen in video)
-Ancient Sniffer Egg (found underwater, provides more adventure and use for the ocean)
-[possibly]seeds/eggs for new plants
-New plants of possible a variety of sizes (could be flower size or even TREE size)
-New plant growth features (we can see a long plant vine sprouting from the ground suggesting this plant will slowly progress in different stages)
-New lore to the game (the idea of 'ancient creatures and plant life' opens the door to the entire story of Minecraft)

What I love about the sniffer is its implications for future updates. What if they decide to continually add seeds to what it can sniff the more plants they add to the game? Like how they add trades to the wandering trader with new blocks.
Don't base decisions on imagined potential. Design, lore, and confirmed abilities are all fine reasons to pick something, but not potential that you yourself imagined.
I still like more the idea of the WT selling important items you lost in the last death
@@marmyeater This is a block game. It's not that deep or politcal, chill. We have a saying where I'm from "It's free to dream", so let people enjoy things for what they could be. Games are about having fun, stopping people from having fun because you think it should undergo a strict decision tree process of checked requirements is just killing the fun. Let people's imaginations run wild with what they could do or not do, we're all mature enough to realize that we're not the people with the last say but speculation and imagination are part of the excitement and thrill of new added features.
@@marmyeater I agree with you to an extent, where one should mostly base their expectations on what is confirmed, but I do think that slight imagination can be allowed, especially if it sounds totally feasible.
See, while you have a point, as with what was seen during the moobloom/glowsquid vote and partially with the allay vote, this thought actually considers how Minecraft implements features. Minecraft usually tries to tie features somewhat together and the sniffer allows for that to happen should new vegetation appear in future versions. Pretty much the same way the wandering trader has had additions upon additions to its tradepool.
He’s not suggesting the sniffer is going to, idk, introduce potted plants onto its back or somthing.

I wouldn’t really say “most endgame friendly.” Once you get the flowers and seeds you need from it, it really has no more use. I’d say tuff golem is the most endgame friendly because of its usability in builds

@@Master_Brutus Sniffer and golem are used for decorations while the other one I forgot was only about giving items
@@AJDS2009 Rascal would spawn in the deepslate layer (below y-0) and give you an item to help you mine if you find it three times. An enchanted iron pickaxe was an example of these items potentially given.
I’m immediately intrigued by the new plants. I don’t know what the next two mobs will be, but I might already have decided on the Sniffer because of plants alone.
