could u please help, me and my friend did exactly as told anddot have the firewall blocked whatsoever. Still can't see each others session in UE4. I'm the host, we've tried vice versa. We're desperate
Is there a VR plugin for UE4 to work in the editor for creating landscapes? Wish I could fly about a scene sculpting with VR brushes and lining up the placement of 3D assets.
I get this is an old video but im pressing "launch server" and 1) the command prompt window is not appearing and 2) i cannot select a server to create a session in. any help is appreciated
do i need to have the complete project and assets downloaded onto my computer as well to collaborate or does it just see all the assets on host when connected. if so do i just set up a game that is blank and then connect to host and it will populate all assets and level for me to see?
Could the modifications be redone? is the system safe? (users might make mistakes, steal, corrupt, etc) and also can the host manage the users and modifications?
I’m a little confused if those connecting to the host server also need the assets linked to the UE4 project locally on their machine or if the host has everything and other users can simply connect to the hosts machine?
Client machines do need the assets locally. Clients connecting to the host server must have their project files (including all assets) in the exact same state as those that existed on the host when the host started the session. All modifications that happen after that will be replicated across all clients. To make it easy, it's probably worth just doing the following: 1. Make sure you ALL have IDENTICAL projects on your local machines. 2. Host starts the server and session 3. Clients join the server and session 4. Begin editing/making modifications. Hope that helped
