Great video and nice way of explaining everything. I am still mad at the Narrow label still wasting about an inch of tape for no reason on the left side of the label. Wish I could reduce the margins on both sides, to save tape even more.
It's actually a real problem. After doing some test labels and finding the least expensive generic refills on amazon, you're still paying between .30-.50 cents per tiny label. It's just not worth the cost.
Thanks for this tutorial! For those saying it’s a bit too fast, you can slow down the video: On mobile: tapping the three dots on the top right and choose “Playback Speed”. On computer, tap the ⚙️ icon on the bottom right and choose playback speed.
Hi 👋Thank so much for sharing this video. I'm looking into one of these but I wanted to know if I can reduce the left & right margins to cut down on the waste paper that the label produces?
Thank you for posting this Tutorial, it was very helpful. I would like to know IF there is a way to Center the two lines of text example. I would like the Resistor centered over the value 2.20 ohm. Thank you for your help with this question.
Hi, thank you for this demo video! It’s really helped me! One question, I’m trying to chain print in two line forma, but can’t figure out how to do that. Is that something I can do? Thanks very much!
Tighten the spool? I couldn't see any difference rotating CW or CCW no matter how many turns I gave it. The first printing was a bunched up mess so I pulled out about a foot until the label material itself tore. Then I hit about 20 characters, cut it off, and tried to separate the stuck together layers. That done, I saw that I had a "negative" print, white letters on a black background. Have I somehow selected that style of printing or is that a result of messed up tape tensioning?
How do you get rid of the two dots that mark the line to cut at??? It’s such a waste of label tape! I don’t need to cut at the two dots every time I print something.
How long do the labels last on your items? Do they still look good after say 5 years? How easy will they be to peel off? (paper laser printer labels are very hard to peel off and leave a lot of the label and glue. I wonder how these labels will perform over a few years.
Hi, I’m trying to make labels for cables but this label maker keeps leaving longer margins on the outer edge and the font is too close to the center line that wraps around the cable. Any advice on how to center the font or increase the margins only on the inside of the text between the center fold line?
To my knowledge there isn't a way to adjust margins on just one half of the label, but I do have a few suggestions. Start by checking your text alignment. I would avoid align center and consider doing either right or left to help avoid text in the middle. Another option would be to use the tab feature either before, after, or between words on the label to help avoid text on that middle fold! If the margins are too long on the outer edge, I would adjust them to a smaller size - but keep in mind you'll need them for a flag label + it has to pass that internal cutter blade. It sounds like a left alignment of your text with a tab or two following the text might do the trick! :)
Thanks for the demo! I just bought this printer, and while the print results and options are fine for my needs, I’m quite frustrated by the horrible screen display, the wasted tape and proprietary AC power supply. I have adjusted the contrast on the screen, and the super thin default menu font is very hard to read. Why didn’t they use a bolder menu font, like what we see when we preview our label design with the magnifying glass? Epic fail, Brother! The wasted tape seems odd, but I suppose it’s a way to sell more tape. Whatever… I have FOUR AC adapters that meet the exact power specifications of the printer, but I get a warning that says WRONG ADAPTER. I confirmed all adapters work, so this is a bit suspect. Overall, I think it’s an OK printer, but these design flaws will annoy me every time I use it.
I tried two different tapes and both bunched up :( Not sure what I'm doing wrong - I definitely spun the tape counter-clockwise plenty before putting it in? Please help!
Hello, i tried to print using sampe 12mm Tze tape and the letters are small as if print using 2 row, how to print that big letter? I mean just print 1 row but big like how you demonstrate it. I already use the large font size but no use
What is the Margin? Is it between each letter or between words or on the end of each word? Even the instructions do not define what a margin a tab or any other function is.
It would be nice if we could actually see something other than a blank LCD screen on the Brother label maker. I thought my PTD210 was defective but I see that your device’s LCD screen is equally unreadable. Definitely a defect in this model.
My labels are coming out with three layers;. Clear, white, and dark. If I manage to separate the layers when they come out, they end up being. White letters with black background 😕. I think I am putting the print cartridge in wrong? May have to send back and get something simpler.
I've got to watch this again. You go fast because you know the subject. I'll need to replay at 3/4 x so your words sink in. Too bad you poorly exposed the LCD. Mostly I had to imagine what you were seeing.
You can choose your playback speed on RUclips, slowdown or speed it up. That way the poster doesn’t have an hour long video and you can speed it up and watch it in half the time, or otherwise slow it down.
You cannot change the color on the printer - the color is controlled by the tape you purchase. Checkout our tape guide at: www.ptouchdirect.com/ptouch/brother-tze-p-touch-tape-guide.html
hello can you guide me how to do "CONT HALF CUT" in "casio KL7400 Label IT" model , it will very helpful . for example performing half cut for "HELLO HELLO HELLO " half cut after every hello word.
Please Re-Make this video. As you can see by all the comments, it would go a long way toward customer satisfaction. You are well acquainted with unit. We are not. (PT-D400) please speak the directions slowly so we can follow along, in real time. Illuminate your device (screen without glare) so we can see what you’re doing, the buttons you’re pushing, etc. Again, slowly. And lastly, please respond to customer Q’s as there will invariably be some issues not covered. We would ALL appreciate this. Thank you in advance.
Horrible product and not user-friendly. The screen is not backlit and very hard to see. Uses too much tape and very hard to figure out how to shorten the tape length. I would return it and buy the Dymo but it would be too much trouble and cost. Unless you want to spend days figuring out the manual instructions, just buy the Dymo or another simpler label maker. This one is a waste of money for the average, infrequent user.
Slow this to "0.75" speed if you want to catch anything that is said. To the creator: You speak way to fast. The reverb (from the bare, flat walls) makes this very tedious to listen to. Use a room that has pictures or tapestries on the walls to cut down on the echo (reverb). Next, move the camera so that we can see what is on the screen. May I suggest a "Circular Polarizing" filter? They are worth their weight in gold! Hope this helps, good luck in the future.
I’ve been wanting to get a label printer for my small business for the longest time and finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did ! This machine is great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxw55tQTywUAAOsbrlwxONZULry77sFF1Q and the blue/green color matches the rest of the accents in my office. My favorite part is how small the footprint is. It’s less than 1/4 the size of my regular printer.Set up was fairly easy. Seller will email you a link with video instructions Which I found to be more helpful than the written instructions. I use a Mac and had no issues. They even included an adaptor for USB to USB-c which is great because I’m always losing mine! I had a few issues getting the labels to print properly and wasted quite a few sheets. You need to play around with the settings to get everything adjusted just right. If you have the wrong settings, it’ll crop off the edges or feed through blank labels. These aren’t issues with the machine though, just user error.
Bought it yesterday, such a waste of time. You should have a easy to understand, step by step tutorial so everybody can use the equipment and have a easy to see display. Very poor equipment I,m returning it and buy the Dymo which is much more user friendly
So, I guess I need to throw out the sample cartridge since each label comes out of the machine with a hard-to-separate black film stuck to the face of the label, right? I realize you're trying to make a business of selling this stuff online but this whole afternoon is turning into a classic example of why people stick with the local stationers who can show them how in a couple of minutes. Would that I had. Grrr.
Why are you going so damn fast? And why can't we see your display? You are just talking and pressing buttons. I don't know what you are doing! I can't figure out how to use this stupid machine. Such BS.
great narrative but slow down a bit on the keystrokes. The view of the display was terrible. Question - how would you do lables that you want to wrap around wires, how do you get all the blank space you need to make the lable the best lenght without wasting tape?
Tried using your method to save tape using margin key. Had set on narrow, it printed with 2 1/4” on right side of my word and 3” on the left. Plus, it won’t delete the letter W no matter how many times I hit the BS key. I’ve started and stopped this video so many times because instructions are given so fast. Speaking slower might help listeners. I’m wasting too much tape. If this is the case, I’ll return this product.
The rapid speech pattern plus the poor acoustics and lighting in the room make this really difficult to understand. The product is not user friendly or intuitive so a comprehensible video would be helpful.
1/6th of an an inch isn't one 16th. Can't see label maker screen. Brother label makers waste tape on purpose so you have to buy more tape. I will stick with my Brady.
