Absolute class interview....not the same old script, we spent 4 hours a day in the gym ..lived on protein shakes, chicken and broccoli to put on an insane amount of muscle in a ridiculously short period of time all without steroids we are told.....the whole cast looked good and natural...what most of us strive for...Great performance from Glen in the movie..
Most honest and accurate breakdown of an actor’s training and nutrition that I’ve ever seen. So refreshing. Would love to see more transparency like this in Hollywood. A lot of people watch these movies and aspire to achieve similar body composition’s to the actor’s portrayed on screen. Interviews like this do a lot of good in setting realistic expectations and putting an end to the mass of misinformation and smoke and mirrors of the fitness industry.
Trainers rarely get the credit they deserve for the work they put in for these actors to get in shape. This was incredible, insightful, and honest. Thank you
4:26 I loved that he actually talked about this. That shot of him flexing was to specifically show off his physique, so they worked out the chest and traps and he learned how to flex them in such a way to really show the muscles and vascularity. It's not talked about enough but almost any movie that requires an actor to get in shape will have some big scene where the character shows off there body. And of course a tan, good lighting and 6k cameras help the overall look as well.
Nick is the man. Such an efficient and honest trainer, one of the best celebrity trainers I’ve ever heard talk. He clearly took his time to answer each question and to give out good training information to us gym bros. Glen also killed it both in the gym and in the movie.
It's admirable to hear him talk about perfecting what is, a relatively, small portion of the movie. Small, yet memorable. You remember the beach scene and you remember Glen looking athletic and cool as fuck. There's something to be said about mastering your craft to such a degree that you give everything for what could be considered a brief moment. I think that's really the best part about this movie. You really get the sense that every detail of the movie was finely combed through and perfected. The editing, the camera work, the acting, the superb aerial shots. It's just a well made movie.
What a great trainer. I like his style of thinking it through on what is best on each person; a deeper consideration on the art of creating a beautiful body that has been hidden from use and knowing how to develop/bring forth a person's body by a creator, like an artist, who understands muscles/nutrition that will matche the person. Great interview. Love his passion of his art.
Really honest and insightful video, fantastic. People saying “it was for one scene”. Did you watch the movie? He looked very defined and muscular in that naval uniform too.
Glen Powell looked awesome(natural; not cartoonish) in Top Gun. Hope to see him in more movies, however, I hope he doesn’t get a role in Marvel/DC or any types of comic book based hero roles.
I had a stomach sleeve last year. I lost 80 pounds and started working out at the end of December with a 3 day total body workout and make sure Iget over 10000 steps daily. I eat a lot better and have a ton of protein. I can't believe how good I look now and have gotten pretty ripped. Before surgery, I always thought I was eating right when I worked out but I wasn't. You can't out train a bad diet. I wish I had known years ago diet is 95% or it.
barely a minute. each guy got couple of seconds of shots n most of it was covered with shadows lol but yeah sides of My mouth went opposite of directions when that scene came up😅 I still watch that part up online. it cures my depression for some minute
Have a lot of respect for Glenn after seeing this but I HATED his character in the movie I thought it was too cliche from the original movie as the lone jock pilot. But he did his bit and hats off to him!
This was Phenomenal - Kudos Brother and Kudos to Nick Michell & To Glen Powell and as well Kudos to All of you involved !!! You All rock ! Stay Positive , Stay Productive ,Stay Safe Always
Very insightful and informative type of breakdown video and that's rare, probably the first too. 16:25 - 16:33 Just wondering why Glen Powell can't have whey protein?
i HATE that they don't focus on legs just because of the money shot muscles....at the end of the day when they're not shooting, they look really weird. Stop skipping leg days bruh. Think at least in terms for the costume department. Stronger and fuller legs will fill out pants and jeans a lot better!!!
The top stars have the money and time to safely deal with that stuff. This dude doesn''t. And he didn't look ridiculous like Hugh Jackman or Chris Evans. I'd bet money it was all natural.
so why did all the pilots have to look ripped? since when does pilots look like that? it's solely bcuz of that one volleyball scene and God bless my eyes for it, I ain't complaining it makes my depression a bit better lol but let's be real tho. and yea they do get benefits to build their bodies, PT's, meal preps by pro's, dietitian etc the studio is literally paying them to look a certain way! so stop the bullshit..

I love glen so much
I have never seen a more honest trainer for a Hollywood actor ever. I'd love to see more of this honesty in Hollywood.
He won't last long.
Very refreshing.
Yep. Fitness bodies in movies and on IG are unrealistic and for a specific moment in time.

He didn't talk about secret sauce so there's that but we are on good track here
Seriously though, this is a perfect example of an actor NOT taking steroids. Well done Glen 👏
One of the few celebrity trainers that actually speaks honestly and shows how passionate he is about this
Trainers rarely get the credit they deserve for the work they put in for these actors to get in shape. This was incredible, insightful, and honest. Thank you

As top gun does real damn stunts. The training is as well. One of the most honest videos I have ever seen. I love how the trainer breaks this down.
Finally a celebrity trainer that isn’t redundant and stereotypical. Intelligent info here
This was the most realistic conversation about training celebs for a movie.👍
Love this… “we didn’t use a balanced program, we didn’t have a balanced goal.”
I could listen to Nick talk for hours. Super inspiring and motivational!
Glen looks very ripped in the beach football scene --- great job, Nick!
This was by far the best training interview I've ever heard. Smart, honest, no BS. Love this. Thank you for this.

This was really insightful. He put the work in and didn’t look cartoonish like he cheated with roids. I believe he was natural and worked for it.
even if you use roids you still need to work your ass off.
No chance.
Definitely natural his physique is not really that special
@@woodenfishes he put on a shit ton of muscle and vascularity in a short amount of time. Definitely not natural.
@@yellomate-tv2pc Nah. Dude has a good frame and was obviously in shape already. And he was like 29. Totally achievable without roids.
Fantastically refreshing to see such a no b*llshit, transparent approach to hollywood training Nick!
Exactly
Exactly, most videos showing celebrities working out are pure bullshit. Finally something real, and also he looks natural , no steroids

You can't create massive muscles in that amount of time
*Chris Hemsworth has entered the chat clutching his Tren*
This is one of the rare interviews that are satisfying!
I can't believe how candid this is. Thanks for posting!
I love hows hes like "ya we just practiced flexing in the mirror" like well, thats relateble so me and glenn are the same
Good for Bagman, hope many of who worked with Tom learned something valuable for their future careers in the cinema
Bagman, HAHHAHHAHAHAHHAA.... indeed
LOL @ Bagman

Learnt so much by just listening to this guy
Came here expecting “Chicken, broccoli, rice.” Leaving with respect for the trainer and Glenn. Well done!
Glen has soo much natural charisma! Swoooon
Glen Powell looked awesome(natural; not cartoonish) in Top Gun. Hope to see him in more movies, however, I hope he doesn’t get a role in Marvel/DC or any types of comic book based hero roles.
He deserves better. Marvel and DC are so corny
He’s doing it out of passion for the original movie. I hope you have this passion for something that inspires work.
This is how a professional works. Systematic training.
Very admirable and honest insight. Holy hell, this trainer loves his profession and it shows. Subscribed immediately!
He's so underrated. He deserves more.
Nick knows his stuff!
Love the speech nick! You’re so motivating in every word. Thx
This guy seems next level.

Amazing transformation with Glen! Looking forward to seeing more of these transformations with Ultimate Performance.
Imagine training this hard then only a minute of scene where they show them all shirtless
But it was still all worth it. I was drooling lol
barely a minute. each guy got couple of seconds of shots n most of it was covered with shadows lol
but yeah sides of My mouth went opposite of directions when that scene came up😅 I still watch that part up online. it cures my depression for some minute
Amazing to see a trainer that makes sense. Rather than “Yeah Ryan Reynolds put on 30lbs of muscle in 3 months 🙄” 😂
I remember first seeing him as the comic relief on Scream Queens. The guy definitely has charisma though, and a bright future ahead.
Have a lot of respect for Glenn after seeing this but I HATED his character in the movie I thought it was too cliche from the original movie as the lone jock pilot. But he did his bit and hats off to him!

Good to see such a honest open interview , great detail , fellow brit too 👍
Yup Nick! My uncles Gary and Sean work in one of your England gyms
Damn!!! All that training for one scene in a movie. Dedicated
fantastic interview, very insightful
This guy knows what he is talking about.
Amazing! Epic team

Such fantastic work from Nick & Glen!
This guy and Mark Twight are the most straight-forward no-BS Hollywood trainers
Fascinating..
Excellent
Hard work pays off!
OK but what exercises Did he do and what food did he Eat?
They have a couple of books on diet and program design but it’s the intensity of the PTs and the work ethic that is the magic.

I like how they make the fighter pilots so damn ripped in the movie but they don’t even look like they could fight 1 on 1 with the enemy face to face.
Dude got ripped for literally one scene
and it wasn't even under good lighting😅 lots of shadows and golden hours
Great video Nick
Damn this guy knows his shit
Amazing Nick and Team!!
Awesome trainer!
Love you glen
Wow this man was so truthful
Waiting for Derek’s scientific dismantling of the supplements section of this video
Quite rich from a guy pimping Turk which has no supporting scientific research.
What a guy 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Damn what a beast lol. Love this man
This guy should play as BJ Blazkowicz in live action Wolfenstein.
7 weeks prep for a volleyball scene lol!
Football, but yeah, essentially

they trained? i thought they did 200 pushups every day after getting their asses handed over to them by tom.....ws that just in the movie?
Eat clen, Tren hard, anavar give up

“Slap me.”
I love Tom, but at 56, he was probably on trt and or hgh. As well as cool sculpting.

Since when did fighter pilots have ripped physiques?
Is Hollywood well I never met a fight I suggest the regular Joe have flat stomach slightly build that's it, yea your comment made laugh

It's not just because of the volleyball scene it's because soldiers and pilots and marines are known for roiding so that's why there so big
