This song has three reactions I've observed from people who like it:
    1) General favorability
    2) Deep rooted Catharsis
    3) It's incredible and I never want to hear it again

I cry every time. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few months before my son was born and this song always gets me. I remember seeing Nothing More perform this live in the House of Blues North Myrtle Beach - when I looked around, everyone near me had tears rolling down their faces. It was an amazing but gut-wrenching experience. Thanks for giving them a listen!

My Dad died 2 plus years ago - I heard this song for the first time the same week he passed. It kills me every time, but it also connects me to him. I don't listen to it often - maybe four times total - but as masochistic as it sounds, when I need to feel him close, I listen to it, and it's like he is here, battling, still.

Love this band so much. And they firmly believe in putting on the best show for their audience so they feel like they are getting there moneys worth. One of them even learned how to weld to make their stage props. Highly recommend This is The Time (ballast), I'll Be Ok (live), Christ Copyright, Mr MTV, Live Bass solo. Last one is amazing to watch even if it's not recorded. Pretty much anything live is great, the singer (Johnny, who used to be the drummer) is a great live singer.

This song came out shortly after my grandfather passed, he was my father figure as I didn't know my dad. I had not cried for him yet, enter this song, I balled on the way to the gym. As soon as I got home I asked my wife to design a tattoo around this song and my grandfather.

I was lucky enough to go through my “awkward teen” phase VERY early (10-11), so the actual time I spent with my parents as a teenager was some of the best to this day. I’m very grateful the timing worked out the way it did, as what would normally be a stressful time for them was actually very peaceful! I still look back and appreciate that period of my life

Great reaction man. Spend as much time as possible with your kids. After my first child I had a few people telling me that kids grow up fast and to enjoy the time spent with them. I didn't pay attention to time but someone hit the fast forward button. I had 2 boys by the time I was 19 years old , I'll be 33 soon and my oldest son is able to get his drivers license this year and my youngest is going to be in high school . Time waits for no one and it's going 100mph. Now I have to start thinking on how to gradually let them go. Love your kids and make sure they know it. Take care man, also sorry for the book. Peace

First of all, you have a kind and warm voice that exudes wisdom and I appreciate everything you do! Secondly, you are dead right about playing with your kids. No one regrets spending those silly moments with them but as they grow up, you start to miss those moments more and more. Thirdly, these guys write from their hearts and deeply personal experiences. “Jenny” is about his sister and substance abuse while “God Went North” is about losing his mother to cancer. I would love to hear your perspective on either or both since they are somewhat tied together. Thanks for what you do.

I watched my dad fade out from cancer. It was traumaic. I wish he had faded out from time. At least time doesnt rob you of who they are. whats worse is he left when i was still pretty messed up. not just from being young but also from the stress and pain i dealt with watching him slowly die. I didnt get to grow up and say hey sorry i was a jerk. you were right, or hey i think you were wrong but you did the best you could.

Cry every time I hear it. So much shit drove a wedge between me my father and there is nothing there now. Now that I am a father to a son born with severe birth defects I won't be able to help him on his way to spread his wings to independence. I do wish I could vicariously live through our relationship as a means to fix my father's and my owns schism and I know it's selfcentered but it breaks me to know someday I will leave before him and he may never truly know how much I love him.
