I check out two different DNR campgrounds that were free with a discover pass. Unfortunately, the day turned for the worst when Joey was attacked by an unleashed dog.

Thank you so much for the love and support for Joey.
I just wanted to fill you all in on what happened. I feel like when I was recording, I was feeling a little crazy so I didn't explain things well.
When we were on our way back to our camp site, a dog at another site ran out and attacked Joey. He had his teeth around his neck. The owner of the dog ran over immediately and the dog's were separated within a matter of seconds.
He didn't have any blood on him. He wouldn't let me examine his neck for the first couple of days. Because I didn't see blood, I thought there wasn't a puncture wound.
(Spoiler alert)
When Joey let me look/touch his neck, there was a lump and a small puncture wound. I end up taking him to the vet even though he starts acting like his normal self pretty quick. He got some antibiotics and pain medication.
This was recorded weeks ago and he is totally fine now and back to a happy boi.
He is definitely wary around other dogs and is quick to try to intimidate them. But other than that, you wouldn't even know this happened.
Again, than you so much for the love and support for my fur child. He is my everything and it was a traumatic experience for us both. To be honest, I feel like it took me longer to get over than him. Lol

I am very glad you are both okay. I hope you reported this incident so that other dogs and maybe children will be safe. I was surrounded by 3 aggressive dogs on a back road once and if a car had not come along I might not be here. It was years ago and I still am nervous about walking in deserted areas, often the most beautiful, because of the incident. I carry a stick with me always. Perhaps you should as well.🤗
I've heard about this far too many times and I find it really frustrating. Yes, carry a big stick. Poor little Joey, hope he feels better and is able to let it go.
Omg poor Joey! It broke my heart to see his little body shaking! It makes me so mad when people have their dogs off leash! Especially if the dog isn’t trained or if it has any kind of dog aggression. As an owner of a dog that doesn’t do well with other animals, he is always on the leash when he is outside! Those people should pay for any vet bills! 😠

I’m so glad the other dog was grabbed by its human so fast. Poor Joey! You’re such a caring dog mum to be there for him and comfort him so well. Massive cuddles for Joey.
Please give Joey a hug from me and I sure hope he didn’t have any wounds. Let us know what happened at the vets. I would have taken the dog to the vet for sure. 🙏

This just breaks my heart for poor Joey.He's such a sweet boy, I'm glad it wasn't worse.It will probably take quiet awhile to get over this.I have a Yorkie and their such sweet dogs.Take care of your baby and love on him a bunch for all of us.
Little Joey, I am glad he's okay! I know how you feel, my little baby boy was attacked by a pitbull! He almost died! For a few years after he was attacked..... I would pick him up when we would see a big dog and suffered from a little PTSD..... Now we have a pit and he loves our little babes.... anyway that sure is a magical area where you're at...... I love how your so grateful and appreciate everything in your life! You make me feel grateful, just to watch you and Joey...... Love you two

Both mushrooms you showed are edible. 1st were oysters, a choice edible delicious mushroom and the 2nd were ink cap mushrooms, good tasting mushroom(just dont drink alcohol with them)
So happy you shared that. I was wondering. I am not knowledgeable enough about mushrooms to ever try any :( it would be fun to take a class. Going to the Olympic Peninsula to camp for a week in 4 days. Can't wait.
@@Jilltoons Im actually a wild edible mushroom expert for the state of Indiana. We are heading up to the upper peninsula of Michigan this weekend to do some exploring and forage for mushrooms! 💜

Little dogs, especially Yorkie mixes, it seem to bring out the PREY DRIVE in those big dogs.

Chantelle thank you for another lovely video as usual. It’s hard not to be grateful for your life and where you are today when you and Joey are living your best lives. You videos are so uplifting. My husband and I were upset to think of any harm coming to Joey, definitely looked traumatized but I am so happy he is recovering and mostly back to normal and happy. I loved watching Joey’s wagging tail throughout the hike. Love to you and Joey.
Joey!!! I'm glad he wasn't hurt worse! More than once, my leashed dogs have been attacked, suddenly, by off-leash dogs. INVARIABLY, the owner (who is not around, within eyesight of, their unleashed dog) says, "My dog has never done that before!" Well - there is always a first time, because of their attitude, & it could be the last time for the dog that is attacked! Each time, I let authorities know, because the owners' carelessness was to blame for each attack & my vet bills were high for the horrible damages done. I wish the campsite had been 100% perfect, as it should have been. Keep up the good, Chantelle & Joey!
I was thinking that other spot would be too sunny. Next thing I know you are switching spots. That new spot seems to be the kind that we all want to find - and you and Joey found it! I was upset the whole video thinking about Joey. God bless you both!

We had a roaming pit bull mix in our area run from no where and attack my husband's sleeping service dog who was chained in our garage it knocked me down as it came in like a guided missile it took me three weeks to stop shaking..I stopped the dog by grabbing a fire extinguisher off the wall and spraying the dog in its face..Birdie was bruised and sore for a week.We gave the vet bill to the owner and reported them to the animal control officer.We found out they had been warned before of letting the dog roam..the officer that showed up was the same one who had to go on a previous call on this very dog...he was very angry saying it could easily have been a child that dog could have attacked. There is so sweeter or more socialized dog than Joey..Hope he heals up physically and emotionally fast💝

What a gorgeous place! thanks for sharing. POOR JOEY! I have a 5 lb chihuahua and I have to be very careful with her around all other dogs because she is always so worried about getting trampled, either by accident or on purpose! She definitely takes it hard too!

I feel so sorry for Joey! He is such a sweet and gentle little boy. I don't know what's happening but I have seen a lot of reports about dog attacks. I hope the owners of the other dog apologized. I have seen they have dog treats with CBD or hemp in them ( I bought some for my dog because he gets nervous during bad storms) because it helps calm them down if they are upset. Maybe you could try them if Joey continues to act nervous 💗! I hope he gets better! Give him a hug from me ❤️. Take care Chantelle! ✌️💕

Love how clear the water is and VERY cool campground. I'd stay the week !! Too bad the first site was hot - I actually like that one better for privacy. Seems WA is a prime camping area. AND cool boardwalk ! So awesome. OMG the thing about Joey would have given me a heart attack. SO glad he's okay !!! PLEASE give him a big snuggle for me . That shakes me up - WHEW ..

Lovely spot. Poor sweet Joey. I, too, have a small dog and am constantly on the lookout for any off leash dogs. However, sometimes these dogs come out of nowhere such as in your case where the dog ran out from his camp area. People need to keep their dogs leashed in their camps. I've had a few scary moments. I carry a couple different types of protection, which I will not hesitate to use if need be. The worst situations I've had, the owners have said, oh he's friendly. Then they say, oh, he's never done that before. Yeah, RIGHT! Glad Joey is OK and recovered from his wound. So sorry that happened. 🙁 An Oregon nomad 🌲❤🐶😽❤🌲
I had a dog recently reach through a fence and bite my pup right on the nose. She's okay but it sure did make me upset. I hope Joey is okay, poor little guy. He's such a little love muffin. Hugs for the both of you. Dig the intro btw it was a vibe. :)
Was the owner even around? So sorry, Joey! Love and hugs to you, little buddy! Sending Reiki for him! If you can get to a Wholefood's, they should most likely have Bach's Rescue Remedy flower essences made for pets who've been traumatized. It should be in the pet section.

Always carry mace to protect your little dog from attacks. Keep him on leash. I know someone that had their little dog grabbed by a Coyote in a park in the town Lynnwood, Washington. The owner chances him into the woods and found his dog's head.
