hi!! maybe you’ve grasped it already, but if you haven’t, I hope this explanation can make it easier for you to understand.
when we hold a guitar to play it, the most bottom string is considered the 1st string, and so on until the top string that is considered the 6th string. these numbers are also what the horizontal lines represent in guitar tabs, so top line = 1st string = the most bottom string in its playing position, and bottom line = 6th string = the most top string in its playing position.
while the numbers are the number of fret that you need to push.
example: number 3 on the 2nd line, means you’ll have to push the 3rd fret of the 2nd string and make a sound of it (pluck the 2nd string)
