On the buttons on the seat back, did you put the backing plate with the recessed side facing the fabric or the foam?

@@kascus My deluxe bars were from Scott Drake. I don't remember that they even had backing plates, let alone which direction, sorry.
I have a 68 that the drivers side seat cushion is old and mushy. Do you think it would be possible to keep the original seat cover and just replace the cushion or foam padding inside?
If the covers are still in good shape then there is a good chance you can replace just the foam, and burlap.
