A mixture of both. The red leg stencils are big. They could be cut but in their original state they are big and hard to use on small things. For big things like my boat, they were perfect.

Sanded it a little and wiped it with acetone. They sell an adhesion promoter for plastic which probably would have been best. But it’s holding up ok in light of the abuse it gets.

maybe a little but its important to keep them clean. it also helps to have an extra set of hand that dont mind getting a little paint on them.
