Beautiful work Gavin 😊 Great composition with that first waterfall, I’ve actually shot that one from up under the rock feature with the water arcing over the cliff going down stream 🔥
Reminds me of the star wars episode 3 where they had the lava. In the behind the scenes they had a watching of the scene with the lava and they had it flowing up and someone caught it and changed it lol
i absolutely love taking mushroom photos! i also started learning a ton about them they are fascinating things as always great content! learning a ton of photography tips for when i finally get my camera
Great video, Gavin. Love the jocularity. Damn good photos too. Unfortunately, I developed that filter a few years ago and you'll be hearing from my team of attorneys. Ha ha. Say hey to Amanda! 😊
West Virginia is such a beautiful state and is definitely underrated for photography. Sorry you missed the colors but you still got some amazing images and it looks like you had a great time exploring.
Hope you enjoyed your time in the Wild and Wonderful! Hope you viewers don't think Seneca Rocks is that close to Babcock State Park! You were in my back door and sorry the colors were passed when you all were here.
Ricketts Glenn State Park is my favorite park in PA! I go here yearly during fall. The best color is the first two or 3 weeks in October! There are mushrooms everywhere. Hope you enjoyed your stay!
I shot that mill in Sep. All green, but I drive past that area on trips to DC a few times a year. Hoping for better timing next year. Really nice park though.
I would consider that "impossible camera angle" as a two-image vertical pano. I've done this myself. My first day in Rome last October, I drove from the airport to a nature area nearby and used that technique (handheld!) on an image of a road and farmhouse. Love the mushroom shot! Amanda has a good eye. P.S. I have a daughter in "Mary-Land" as you say. Nice people! We phonetically call it "Marelend" though. 😉
Stitching with the impossible angle is a good thing to teach. It is something I discovered a while ago using a 17-70 at various lengths depending on composition wanted
If nothing else, there's always the waterfalls to photograph. The mushroom shots are definitely wall worthy. You should always bring Amanda. She can spot a shot like a pig can find a truffle. Finding peak color in the Fall is more of an art than a science. But, when it's just right, magnifico. The import fees are a killer from Canada.
They only have dropped in the past couple of months. The actions taken by this president, from day one in office, raised prices where I live by other 200%. Nice try.
@@paulpiasano9251 Might want to learn how things actually work and not just what Fox News tells you to believe. Also, if it’s only been a couple months then you’re getting gouged locally, been down for awhile.
I loved the mushroom image. Only in America would your trip be so long you would need to do an oil change during the journey 😉 I’d swap the price of US gas for the price of UK petrol.
Sorry to hear you got rickets! Is there any cream or something that you can rub on them?😮. One thing that you never mentioned about a creak slash is that no one can tell that you have been been there which is good too😀
I was lucky when I was at Babcock State Park. I got some good color, about 20 years ago using a Canon G2 with 4MP CCD sensor. So fun to see you having fun there too! I don't remember many images of yours that might be considered macro, but I'm quite the fan of the two you showed us here. The waterfall shots were beautiful too. Maybe you can get Andrew at the garage to call you and Brent next year at the peak of color! How you guys kept straight faces for some of those gags is beyond me. Happy trails.
Hi Gavin, Always so relaxed and interesting… I love it every time! I'm looking forward to your book that I ordered in December (Chasing Awe). Best wishes
Must be worth 3000 mile trip to see water defying gravity (~15:20) 🙂 Can I click & collect the magic filters - it'll be cheaper to fly to Canada & back to Scotland
Pretty awesome to see you all made it into WV. I haven't made it over to Babcock in a couple years now even though it is only like 3 hours from here. I need to remedy that. There's a lake and other falls in that park too. OK you talked me into it. I'm planning a trip over.
That close up of those mushrooms is ruddy beautiful Gavin. As for you question regarding many mushrooms, the collective noun for them is a bed, troop, patch, or cluster.
Great photo's as always! When I went to Babcock the color was perfect, my problem was the amount of people, I couldn't get a decent angle for anything. I'll be contacting you in 2 or 3 years for one of those filters, I'm going to have to save up for a while since you'll have to ship it to Texas. 🤣🤣🤣
oh Gavin, did we foget that when we reverse the video on a drone shot of a waterfall, the water goes up the falls. Or is that your new antigravity filter! 😆 As usual, another great video 🙂
Great image of the shrooms. I love mushroom macro. I took about 20 shots a couple of years ago of some mushrooms on a tree. Different kind of mushrooms. And I cheated - I used macro extension tubes and a 200mm lens to get really up in their business. Some of my favorite, unplanned photography.
"Your rates are variable" LOL. Nice find by Amanda including the leaves. Yes, western Maryland is friendly. Going east is not the same. It's almost like two different places. Don't ever drive on the Capital Beltway in Maryland. You may have a heart attack. Glad you made it to Wild Wonderful West Virginia. Seneca Rocks is spectacular. As I said before we didn't get the color this year. We had a drought during the summer and when the leaves starting turning we got a cold snap. That didn't help. Due to elevation West Virginia peaks early for fall color. It's quite possible to see snow in October there. I love WV. You did get some beautiful shots. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
Shame you missed the color. At least they rewound the water for you. Brilliant idea to showcase your filter there!😂 BTW nice cluster tie in between the mushrooms, the gas pump and potentially the comments. Great video and images!!👍👍

Your videos continue to inspire and cheer me up on my bad days! After a very shitty past 2 years of my life, I found photography! And your videos seem to make me happier when I'm having a bad day, so please continue to create the content you do Gavin. Much better than Thomas Heaton!
I am in Maryland and would have driven 3 hours to Cumberland to say Hi to Amanda.....and you. I would have even bought you lunch at the always delicious Taco Bell in Cumberland.
I must admit I got this from Google as I was curious. A mushroom cluster sometimes resembles several mushrooms all growing from the same spot in the ground. Rustgill mushrooms grow in clusters. If the mushrooms in a group are not growing close enough together to be called a cluster, but they are clearly still a group, then they are called a ''troop. Now I'm all set in case I get asked in a Quiz
Best Book Ever Written? www.fototripper.com/chasing-awe-landscape-photography-book-gavin-hardcastle/

Beautiful work Gavin 😊 Great composition with that first waterfall, I’ve actually shot that one from up under the rock feature with the water arcing over the cliff going down stream 🔥
It is amazing how much Amanda talks without saying a word. Her expressions are priceless!
Ok; I'm old and senile, but please tell me that the water wasn't going up the mill waterfall at 15.12!
I had to rewind to make sure my eyes were not tricking me.
Thank goodness you saw it too; so I'm not completely gaga then. 😀@@kathyhenehan1093

Sounds like conspiracy theories to me so I'm inclined to believe it.
Looks like gravity goes up hill in that water fall😅
The best Sunday entertainment - thanks.
My favorite bit is the water flowing backwards! Love it!!
Thanks a lot, Gavin and Amanda... I now have the "Whippets and Chex" song stuck in my head!
You call it a Room Of Shrooms. Beautiful images Gavin and nice find Amanda.
Love the backwards flowing river at 15:14 😂😂😂
Great to see Jason back on the show. Love the mill in WV, beautiful location…. At least at different times of the year. ;-)
More Amanda & Roy. 😁 Entertaining & thank you for the Photo experience.
Epic drone footage of those rocks near the end.
🤣😂🤣 Great as always. Really love that Impossible angle shot!
Another fantastic video full of magnifique images and fun 😃

Hilarious, and I really like that “impossible focal length” shot!👌

Great vid Gavin. Loved the shots with the 55mm 1.8 great little lens 👍
Fantastic, thank you.
Ricket's Glen is the dream, Gavin - I rang your bell - Fungi by a Fun guy!
Ricketts Glenn State Park is my favorite park in PA! I go here yearly during fall. The best color is the first two or 3 weeks in October! There are mushrooms everywhere. Hope you enjoyed your stay!
Great filter! You're a true visionary. I'd like blue leaves too. HaHa
Always entertaining watching the adventures of @fototripper #landscapephotography Stunning location btw Gavin.
Amazing! How did the water run back up onto the waterfall??
The wife bought me a copy of your book for Christmas, I love it!
Enjoy :)
תודה!
Thank you
I love that you went to two of my favorite spots (Ricketts and Babcock)! Love the shots!
Love your videos. Great lessons and humor. Impressed that you found blue duct tape to patch your Patagonia!
It needs a few more patches
Nice compositional skills! Amanda should be congratulated!
Funny funny episode...excellent photography and drone footage of West Virginia was amazing...many thanks.
I shot that mill in Sep. All green, but I drive past that area on trips to DC a few times a year. Hoping for better timing next year. Really nice park though.
Mushrooms were awesome but I might’ve tried to shoot them vertical myself or done both but were the best. Love your work, Gavin.
A troop of mushrooms Gavin. Very nice 🍄
I love Rickets Glen grow up near there, I miss the fall colors now living Tucson,Az. Great video!

Great as usual, Gavin. You’ve inspired me to go back to Ricket’s Glen. I think I remember that gas station, because I remember laughing with the note.
"Can you show us how to do it with feeling and emotion?"...dead. Great mushrooms Amanda! :P
I like these shroom pics! Great waterfall images too! Oh, and these filters, out of this world 😂
That second mushroom shot was well worth the drive and hike! Beautiful work and great video!
Love how they want to leave those stickers up now that prices have actually dropped quite a bit since 2020. 😁😁
They only have dropped in the past couple of months. The actions taken by this president, from day one in office, raised prices where I live by other 200%. Nice try.

Could you invent a waterfall filter I can use to drop one in to any good rock cropping I find? That would be SO helpful!
Pretty sure I could.

Of course but there's a $2000 collection fee for pain and suffering.
There's a reason us Aussie's talk about whinging poms . . . . . outtakes were hilarious.
Beautiful photos. You guys never fail to make me laugh 😂 seriously, I learn so much from you, Gavin. Much respect from Canada 🇨🇦
Beautiful images but somehow the leaf filter stole the show. I loved it
I had the opportunity to shoot Glade Creek Grist Mill mid October in 2021. The colors were phenomenal.
Awesome to see you visited WV! Shame the colors weren't there for you.
Awesome photography , ethereal waterfalls and the mushrooms were pure magic (kudos to Amanda too) 👏👏👏

Cumberland is my home town. Glad you stooped in1
went from Nashville this past fall to Babcock. Decenty colors
Fabulous shots Gavin 👌🏽
Another great video, enjoyed the pump humor, I bet it’s not so funny in Nova Scotia either.
Oh it's worse.
Gotta ask…were the mushrooms in anyway responsible for what that filter was doing?
I’m 5 hours south of Badcock, one of my fav photo spots (been trying to catch it with a bit of snow!)
I was just at Ricketts Glen. It was magical just after a snowstorm. It would definitely be worth another trip.
I'd love to se it partially frozen.
Hey how much is the filter the can make the water flow up hill towards the mill
Amazing video! I need to get to Ricketts Glen, it's only a few hours away from Connecticut!
That close up of those mushrooms is ruddy beautiful Gavin. As for you question regarding many mushrooms, the collective noun for them is a bed, troop, patch, or cluster.
I like a good cluster.

Was the backwards flowing waterfall at the mill your Superman like attempt at going back in time 10 days to peak color?
It didn't work.
