@@theaccordian9377 bruh why you gotta be so literal, besides regardless of training his legs would still be taking damage just like a boxers face does despite intense conditioning 🤷
You are basically converting your sideways momentmum into friction that slows your fall. So this technique only works for a little while (when you have sideways motion during your fall), but it is very interesting.
If you had two walls relatively close together and lots of practice, you could probably use this technique to slide all the way to the ground by periodically jumping between them
@@Aburaishiif you had two walls you could push outwards against both, probably creating enough friction to hold yourself up if you wanted to (as long as you have the right build, that is)
@@chickenandlasagna mario usually can't double jump tho, that's a smash bros only thing pretty much, mario just does... a jump but then if he jumps again after landing his next jump is higher, and then a third jump even higher

Can we just appreciate for a moment that this dude made an entire video about doing a double wall jump just to get up this particular obstacle, and now here he is, just using it to get up casually in a video! Great work! Well done, man!
The friction the wall provides both lengthens the fall and makes it smoother for you, as you impact the floor at a slower speed (comparing to a free fall with only the friction of the air to slow you down). Also, the more you keep sliding on the wall (ergo, the less you stay on free fall), the slower and smoother the fall will be.
If you push on the wall, the wall pushes back, meaning that you start to drift away from the wall immediately. This is probably better described then as a descending or inverse wall jump rather than a wall slide.
award* What does Oscar award mean? an annual award given to a performer, director, technician, etc., of the motion-picture industry for superior achievement in a specific category: judged by the voting members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and symbolized by the presentation of an Oscar.
Idk but the way this guy quickly figures that he needs to angle his jump to get anywhere close to sliding down the wall tells me he’d be good in some kind of hard science field
According to physics, you can only wall slide for a limited amount of time (there is no absolute limit, just that you can't slide forever), so you might have to jump between walls as you're sliding down.
@@squidbad Ok buddy, if it's not obvious, there is going to be a force pointing away from the wall from the moment you contact it which will bring you out of contact with the wall (i.e. he has to push against the wall with his legs to keep his feet on it).
@@squidbad For all practical purposes, yes, besides Earth's gravity pulling him down. He's moving far too slowly for atmospheric drag to matter. The friction experienced against the wall to slow downward movement is proportional to the coefficient of friction of the contacting surfaces and the amount of force exerted normal to the wall. The requirement to exert force normal to the wall to generate friction is why he must eventually move off the wall.
Can't slide very far down. There is nothing pressing the hands and feet to the wall hard enough to keep the same friction achieved as soon as the slide starts. The sliding is effective for a few seconds at best.
Youll want to hit the wall with just enough velocity that you can ride the wall the whole way down for max effect. Ideally you dont want to "rebound" too high. This will maximize the drag and friction.
Of course sliding reduces the fall impact. Sliding causes friction. Even the friction from air resistance lowers the impact if you jump out a plane. Obviously not anywhere near enough for you to survive but friction will always lower the impact. That much friction on the wall should have reduced the impact significantly.
