I do not understand. Is the girl found on lotus -- SITA? Or Laxmi? Seems she carried a curse on her to destroy Lanka. So the scene here must be in Lanka. But some God then took the girl to be found in place near Nepal, called Sita. Is this what is conveyed here? Totally confusing..
Laxmi is Vedavati, who is reborn in Lanka. Who was given to Varuna dev who then gave her mother Bhumi. King Janak finds her and she was named Sita or Janaki.

I remember studying a story:
Once there was a sage who was devotee of Goddess laxmi, he got a boon that she will be born as his daughter, but Goddess laxmi's energy transformed into two daughters of that sage one named padmavati and another named vedavati, both the sisters worshipped Vishnu and wanted to marry Vishnu. Unfortunately Vishnu marries only padmavati. So vedavati goes into long penace(meditation) [they say vedavati was by another in her previous life and then also she could not marry Vishnu, she was born 3-4times in different lives in an attempt to marry vishnu]
Now when Vedavati was meditating on Vishnu, ravens sees her and mesmerized by her beauty Etc etc......
