  • I had a hell of a time getting the bearings out.
    I rented the Slide Hammer and Axle Bearing Puller Set by OEM tools from Autozone.
    I bought the Bearing Installer from Advance Auto.
    2.1 Quarts Gear Oil 80w-90
    8.5 and 8.6 10 bolt Rear End

    You had the seal driver on backwards when installing the bearings. Good video. 👌

    I had a piece of 1" cold rolled steel round stock 9' long that went right through the differential and tapped the bearings and seals out with a five pound sledge hammer without even damaging the bearings or the seals. No problem and regular steel or aluminum round stock would have done the job also. Just make sure the round stock is clean before you stick it into the axle housing.

    I have a 1998 GMC sierra c1500 ..2 wheel drive . Is it the same steps ?
