Our 2nd time out "Fishing" trip out on the lovely north sea. In this episode we see a day in the life of fishing from Dunbar. We do hope you enjoy this vlog. All the very best OMAHB team
Thank you so much buddy. I think it's all the concentration you need that stops you thinking of the sea sickness.🤣🤣🤣🌬🌬🌬🌊🌊🌊🤢🤢🤢😝😝😝😜😜😜 Have a great weekend champ. All the best my friend 😉👍
Great video Barry, it was interesting watching you work, but realy hard graft there. I don't know how you manage to walk about on the boat as it was quite choppy I'd have been bouncing of the rails or fell overboard or gone over along with the float, enjoying learning things from the coments too, I was wondering what the fish was you let go, I've no idea it looked like a wee shark to me but could be anything. Great stuff Barry
Hi Anne. As always thank you for the great comment. We really appreciate them. In this vlog, I'm still trying to find my sea legs, 🤣🤣🤣 ....but just wait until you see vlog #7 that's even better.🌊🌊🌊 That's why the rails are as high as they are, to keep me from popping out for a wee swim.🤣🤣🤣 , but I'm so glad they are there.😍 Your correct. That was a wee " spotted dog fish" a relative to the shark, and often caught in these waters. Lynsey gave me a telling off for not doing piece to camera and explaining that...doh! Silly me.🤣🤣🤣 More interactive vlog next week Anne, so I hope I explain things a little bit better.😁👌 Have a great weekend. All the best. Baz. 😁
Awwwww Thank you Jackie. Yeah, and that's only half of it! 🤣🤣🤣 I don't have enough battery power or SD card to show a full days work.🤣🤣🤣🤣 That week hardly paid for the fuel and bait.☹👎 so no wages yet...but they're coming.😁👌💰💰💰😝😝😜😜😜🤣🤣🤣🤣 Have a great weekend hun. All the best to you and pops. Xxx
Thank you Pat. Really appreciate that.😁👌 I was still trying to find my feet in this vlog...I'm hoping next week will be a tad better....more interactive. 😉👍 Have a great weekend champ. All the very best. Baz.😁
Hi Gary. Thank you for the comment. Really appreciate it bud. Unfortunately, she's laying round the old harbour ( bad weather incoming) If you look round the corner at a building called the " mc Arthur's stores" at the Cromwell harbour. You'll not miss her.😁👌 Hope you have a great weekend bud. All the best. Baz 😁
Wonderful to watch Barry. I've worked on many boats for local fisherman over the years including a potter or two (very few left now), but I've never seen how they use the gear, and didn't think it would be as interesting to watch! You mentioned you couldn't drop where you wanted to, so can you explain why that was so, and also, is it a license thing that says where you can and can't drop the creels - the "berths" you mentioned? Greetings from the wild Atlantic coast of Donegal!
Hi Keith, Thank you so much, for this wonderful comment. We really appreciate your question and well wishes. When we mean a " birth" it means a big boats length, away from other gear...its just fishermen etiquette, so everyone gets to fish, basically. No, it's a free for all on the ground, no specific ground, for a licence holder. The reason, I couldn't get to where I needed/ wanted to was basically the weather forecast that was approaching, and there would have been too much swell to go and retrieve my pots, at the risk of losing the gear, and god forbid, the boat.😳😳😁👌 I hope that answer your questions. If you have anymore, please don't hesitate to ask. All the very best. Baz😁
@@onemanandhisboat Great answer - many thanks! ...that sort of explanation would be good content for a video! ...or two! Said to see so few lobsters available... but then, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it! Ádh mór for the season ahead!
Thank you so much for the suggestion Keith, I really think it's a great idea. The next set of vlogs are becoming more " interactive ", the more I find my feet, to work, and do camera work...it's all very demanding. 🤣🤣🤣 The Lobster are usually very scarce at this time of year...another good few weeks and we'll hopefully see more on the ground.🤞🤞🤞🦞🦞🦞💰💰💰😉👍 Have a great weekend bud. All the very best. Baz.
Hi buddy. We are using frozen herring at the moment...hopefully the Mackerel will be on the ground soon, so I can save a bit of money.😁👌 We do intend to go Mackereling, but it will just be for bait, as we don't have a quota on our licence, to land them.☹👎 Have a great weekend bud. All the best Baz.😉👍
Another cracking video, good job you’ve still got your sea legs after so long building her 🤣
Thank you so much buddy.

What are you using for bait at the moment, also do you plan on hand lining mackerel?
