A surprisingly witty, hilarious, and heart-warming tv show. The chemistry between the four ladies is so amazing. And I am so glad the music is also good, they did not go comedic there. Totally inconsistent with the tone, bad songs are not "so bad they're good!", no real nostalgia, tired tropes about female "empowerment". It's not "empowerment" when you struggle to write because you have zero talent, and it's not "empowerment" to write male characters as weak caricatures to contrast the oceans of insecurity on display by the women. Awkward performances abound as they struggle to pull together a show trying to do too much. A show can be wacky, heartwarming and insightful all at once, but in this show when one element fails another protrudes.
