This was a beautiful piece of History. It was special moment to see and hear my Grandfather Fitzgerald Jemnott being recognized for his contributions. Job well done!
Name is significant. Remember your family name must be proudly protected at all times. God bless you all with that song one day at a time sweet Jesus. Recorded 2 AM on the drag. Grenada here.
I was the first woman to play in the band in 1968-1970 with Jemmot and Neville Jules. It was Catelli All Stars at that time. They sponsored us. In 1970 we came to America New York City to play in Madison Square Garden.
I get chills up and down my arms whenever I hear the Steel Pan, an instrument with a resounding song that can wake up a dead man Wow! and especially whenever I hear the name Winston Spree Simon Pioneer and Inventor of the Steel Pan, who was the first cousin to my mother Rita Simon from Trou Macaque Laventille. This amazing and incredible instrument is ❤💛💚💜💙🤎💗💓💟here forever.
Excellent. Trinidad All Stars is a great institution. Including comments from Ray Holman to give an Invaders perspective was an excellent idea. Too many of us seem to forget the musical rivalry that existed between Trinidad All Stars and Invaders during the 1950's and early 60's. That was the era of the Bomb. It serves to remind us that there was steelband excellence before Panorama.
My band since 1970, after I heard "Maggie" calypso by lord Kitchener. The best bomb-tune competition for J'ouvert morning was "Fiddler on-the roof", they won that. Anyone remember when the pan-yard was on South Quay in the old bus terminal?
To me i love Rain and Heat. With the tune heat i feel the noise of the crowd over power the tune that make all stars lost or the judges did not want to give them that win. Case close.
I wish RUPERT ALEXANDER, "ZATO"MALXOLM ALEXANDER, "BROKO"TONY, "DUMPLIN" TONY "VATS"FITSROY, BATES"BRITO"SYKIE" and others one of the best stage groups t,dad all stars ever had playing at the t,dad hilton for years, seems no one mention those guys contributions.
Brought me to tears, thanks for this production, and congratulations All Stars!

Yes I remember being in that open area that would be part of the twin towers listening to All Stars practice.
