- There was a time in many nations when your word was your bond. Honesty was the best policy. When parents used to "wash their children's mouths out with soap" when they lied. Even the comic book hero Superman fought for "truth, justice and the American way." What happened to truth? Is honesty dead?

From experience, I now see that honesty allows others to trust you , which I believe is a great honour to ourselves.
I remember hearing Monica Lewinsky say lying was normal in her family, everyone lied. You can hardly expect such children to have good morals.
That is all that I see with most people it's so sad
I miss the TW now program I hope God will open a door for it to come back.
We as parents need to stop lying to our kids. It would be very difficult for us to share God's truth if we continue to lie to our children. I know many parents are just following traditions. Traditions need to be biblically base to teach our kids. If we lie we need to admit & need to learn to apologise to our kids for lying to them. Even if it is about santa, easter bunny, or whatever. I will try to practice what I preach.
Lying is selfishness. You want to benefit something from the lies you tell. It hurts. Honesty is love and shows love. It devalues a person.
So...Pilate was asking the right question: "What is TRUTH?"
People, please tell the truth, even, especially if it hurts!

I'm a huge music fan, many kinds. This topic brings to my mind a song which addresses this very subject, our corruption by dishonesty and deceipt. The song is titled 'Flawed Design' by the group Stabilo. I would encourage anyone interested in this subject to give it a listen.

Although everything else changes it's still nothing new Under the Sun it is history repeating itself over and over again the different actors different levels the one truth is God does not change he is the same from beginning to Infinity
They've been trying forever to remove God but had that yet to find out that you can't remove God he is omnipresent

Parents being friends do their children instead of parents parents who lost their morals and values it's really sad

@@gerardmoloney9979 Agreed. It takes up so much energy. I makes people sick. So many live a lie, speak lies, think lies..... I told God, I did not care what the truth was, I just wanted to know it. He obliged me and saved me shortly thereafter.

Jesus Christ knew the truth, and in (John 17:17) He stated it! Sanctify them by your truth your word is truth! Jesus Christ is the Word, so Jesus most likely was referring to Himself ( John 1:1). All the dishonesty in the world is a huge reason we need Jesus Christ return so people can be taught God's ways!
I found it very distasteful for Pat Roberts to come out and chastise the heartbeat bill of Alabama he should be removed and no longer allowed to speak
