I just got the game and I'm liking the whole building aspect, it's really therapeutic to just plop down trees and landscape lol. I wish that they could release a wildlife reserve mode where you can just build a forest, put down the animals that could live there, and let it take care of itself without barriers and stuff. I know there are mods for this, I just wish it was official.
You can basically do that in sandbox now. Turn off animal welfare and escapes and you can just put null barriers down (the invisible ones) and the animals will stay within them. This video is from last summer and things like this have got a whole lot easier since then!
Oh yes, this is exactly the series I’ve been looking for on RUclips for so long. Great stuff. As for future builds, how about the Namib desert, home to desert specialists like gemsbok, springbok and ostrich as well as desert adapted elephants, lions, giraffe, rhino and zebra. The habitat is a mix of very dry mountains, sand seas, salt marshes (favored by flamingos) and dry river beds which are the preferred habitat of most of the bigger species. For inspiration google the Hoanib river and you’ll get an idea of what I’m talking about. This desert environment gives a unique take on otherwise common animal species and just shows how adaptable they have to be in order to live in such a dry desert.
Thanks ED Wildlife! Weirdly, Namibia was going to be the next episode! The Deadvlei was the idea, however the big rock mesas in the background of the desert map kinda take away from the feel I was going for so I'm revising my plans.
Wow, nice! It's hard to beat the visuals of a flooded environment, but a Serengeti environment could be fun, with a bit of challenge in making it look interesting.
This is beautiful! Only just discovered your channel, and I'll definitely look into your Tekton Zoo videos next. I think I'd enjoy an Australian landscape with some kangaroos, dingos, koalas and possibly saltwater crocodiles as another suggestion.
Oooooh Z, this is freaking cool! I love the structure of your video, I see many people do it like this (I think maaaaybe Mike Sheets was the first to do it and it really works). Your flooded forest shows off the planet zoo graphics in the best way possible. So beautiful!
Thanks Kristine! Yeh it's a lot more chilled than a speedbuild. Because my main zoo is in franchise mode I don't really have the option to make all my videos like this so I mix it up.
I'm really new to your channel (recently remembered that planet zoo existed and was looking for a diff content creator for the game so am slowly watching your San Bernandino zoo playlist), and just wanted to say, you are always allowed to say "wow" to your own builds because they are always amazingly breathtaking!
thats amazing!! and never be embarassed to express amazement at your own creations! its good to be proud of your hard work :) its absolutely "wow" anyway 👏
Nice!! How are the animal populations doing or have you turned death and birth of? I did one of these last week in ‘Ecuador’ and love watching the llamas herd together in the grasslands and the baby Jaguars follow their mother. An African grassland in Kenya would be amazing. I normally research the trees before I do it! Great Work
This is what I have been looking for on Youube for a long time.I have Planet Zoo but it's soooooooooooooo glitchy plus I wish I had ZSH plays building skills
Hi. Can you make an actual reserve? Like pictures something like a very large empty field with a few trees and some plants, and a large watering-hole for animals to drink. Also, instead of killing each other, have the herbivores and carnivores living together side by side, like ten of each specie as well as ten of each baby. And you can add in Food Enrichments so they wouldn't go hungry.
@@ZSHplays A tutorial to show how we can also turn a large of heck even an entire area within a zoo map’s borders into one large habitat that we can release animals into…. Was that more clear?

It's official, the Hoanib River is the next episode of Planet Wild! Thank you for your suggestion!
@@ZSHplays ah fantastic, soooo looking forward to it! 🤙🏼🤩
Silky smooth voice? Beautiful creations? Planet zoo? Sign me up! Glad i followed that link
Haha wow thanks Julian!

Thanks Harry! Serengeti is now on the list!
This is such a neat idea! Reminds me of a park that floods in the mountains certain times of year and people scuba dive in it. Beautiful!
Ooh that sounds great!
@@ZSHplays I think it's in Europe somewhere.

I love this series! I’m using parts of this for some inspiration. Thank you!
That’s great to hear, thanks Leaf Frog!
This is awesome! Love seeing awesome landscape and scenery like this in planet zoo!
Thank you!
Awesome project! Love the customized trees!!
Cheers Digy!
So many areas showcased here are desktop material, and it's all gorgeous.
Ooh thanks!

Absolutely amazing! Beautiful! This is exactly how I've wanted to play this game. As natural as possible!
Glad you like it! Thanks!
Such a great idea, this is going to be a great series. An Arctic glacial area would be great to watch :-D
Thanks Sean! You mean where the glaciers meet the sea or inland?
@@ZSHplays where the glaciers meet the water would be breathtaking!
Yeah! This is going to be a great series, excited about it!!!!
Thanks Ray! Any habitats you'd like to see me try and build?

That sounds really cool! TNH I built this in sandbox and turned everything off. The Jaguar ate a couple of tapirs before I did that though 😂
This video is awesome!
Thank you!
would be interesting to revisit some of these now that more animals have been added to the game
Oh my God did you just give me an idea for a cool video I can make in 1 day?! Haha thank you! If I do this I will give you a shoutout 😆

I really like it! Do you have other wild zoo ideas? I think an archipelago or a frozen tundra would be fun to do!
An archipelago sounds like a great idea! Thanks.
@@ZSHplays welcome!
you are realy good with the terrain tool bravo
I try 😀
Little Amazon👍
Great work! I'd love to see some form of Asian style build, like a small island or even Thailand maybe with rice fields and similar.
Thanks JJ! An island sounds interesting although it does mean more water 😀
I would absolutely love to see you do one of these based on Borneo I love Orangutans and think it would be cool to see them in a video like this. 😊
If they ever make them actually behave like Orangs I will do it in a second!
@@ZSHplays I know I wish they made them more arboreal like they are IRL.
Amazing idea
Thank you Blue Chompy!
Very cool
Thanks hotleg!
you have all my support
Thanks Rstrynch!
Are there any bushes and smaller plants available for this biome in game?
I’m not sure, I always use custard apple trees sunk into the ground for bushes
Nice work 😀
Thanks CG! Gonna kill every task on my PC and try your file again tonight, wish me luck!
@@ZSHplays Good luck 👍 In my opinion your map should look much heavier for a PC in terms of water surface.
When I place something down in this map my fans sound like they’re going to explode 😂
@@ZSHplays your map isn't on steam workshop by any chance? Otherwise I have checked tonight if my PC can run it a bit.
It’s not, I will upload it when I get a chance though, thanks!
Jaguar, Caiman, ant eater, Capuchin monkey would be some cool animals to this vibe! And how did u use the leaf effect?
There are Jaguars & Caiman in there already. I didn't really have the space for the others unfortunately
The leaves are one of the special effect construction pieces

Hi, I did something similar to that in the Hoanib River episode
Cool i tried to do this and it was a massive disaster well done though.
