Had the same thing with a crafter last week, could not get it to some down blow 15 to 18. dpf had over heated at some point and had damaged part of it. Nice info to put out there
Wow Johnny, what a great interview..absolutely amazing.. Alois, is such a lovely man , so giving with the history and information, what a story.. You can see this car is so special to him.. My god, so cool with his Dad, together this all started. Definitely a legend for Porsche and the automobile world.. Thank you..👍👍
One thing to check, on my rely van the dpf sensor flex pipes literally broke down inside and became blocked, but on the outside they looked fine ! It's worth a check.
Cheers Jimmy, this one seems to fly in the face of your gallery of previous videos, I would have thought a van doing a regen that often would put a code up.
Awesome and terrifying info. Would such a dpf respond to a professional off car cleaning service (heat, backflush, ...) ir is it always time for a new one? Those euro6 dpfs can be bloody expensive...
Hi Jimmy. I have a simmilar problem with a 2018 Peugeot boxer, same van. I makes regens every 7-10 km and the pressure won't go bellow 30mbar after cleaning, the tip of exhaust yas some ash deposit. 350.000 km and had the adblue pump disabled 100.000 km ago
A little update on my customers van. As you mentioned we took off the Dpf because it is easy to remove and cleaned with cleaner then rinse it with water. It was full of ash. Reset the dpf values. Now the pressures are nearly perfect and in 1000 km it made 2 regens, before it was regening every 7 km and the fan doesn't blow all the time any more. The only sign of a blocked dpf on these van if the cooling fan on full blow all the time.
I personally don't trust no main dealer I had a 63 plate Vauxhall mokka 1.7cdti that I got off my father it had a turbo over boost issue so I had a brand new turbo replacement and still same issue took it back to the garage that completed the turbo change they cleared the code after few miles same thing would return ie limp mode and engine light took it main dealer they told me it's a ECU issue at a cost of well I've £1000 I can't remember the exact amount but near 1500 if I remember rightly I got a permanent code fault deleted and the car nearly 3 years later is still driving fine
The final diagnosis isnt necessarily correct. You've quoted yourself the amount of additive in the filter is high. You won't clear additive or ash out of a dpf with either a regen or the on-vehicle chemical clean you use but it will clean using a off vehicle clean because it flushes under pressure and in the reverse direction so the particales dont need to be broken down to clear. Chances of the dpf being physically damaged on one of those is unlikely, they are very robust, just needs correctly cleaning.
My Insignia 1.6 cdti is doing this, it's also using oil.? How often do you have to deal with cars with leaky turbo seals and oil in the dpf? That's what I am leaning towards
Hi Dr DPF i am a owner of Citroen jumpy van 2.0hdi 2018 and get regular dpf issues even after replacing it (p246c fault after 700kms!). Do you think adblue delete Can impact dpf performance on PSA cars since scr and dpf are fitted together ?. No solution found here in France 😅
Are these vans a nightmare, but if so what lwb van can you recommend, I hear the citroen also have issues with the turbo going , is the 2ltr ad blue eng any better.
If you’re wanting to do anything other than read codes or reset service indicators then you’ll need a professional level machine. Not cheap though. That launch that Jimmy uses is about £6k
Hi Jimmy, I have a similar issue where it regens every 60km or so but the pressure does go to 5mbar so would indicate dpf ok?? But why regen so frequently? Thanks
I've got a customer with a citreon relay Luton van 19 plate with a brand new dpf that keeps getting stuck in dpf cleaning mode and no one can figure it out
I have a 2018 Peugeot boxer, 140,000 miles.I bought it in January to convert to a campervan for camping trips with my grandsons. But I'm having the same problem, regen every 20 miles or so and then loses power. I've been to several garages and never get a straight answer when i ask is cleaning them possible, just "replace dpf and cat." It seems they have the fancy computer but, unlike yourself, don't really know how to use it. Quotes for replacing them with new parts is beyond my budget, but one said using salvaged parts they can do for £1800. Is this worth doing?? The last garage suggested a "delete" for £500! Not the road I want to go down, but I'm at a loss as what to do on my limited budget as a pensioner. Any ideas as to what I can do?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
if its every 20 miles it'll be beyond cleaning sadly, will either be damaged or full of ash which wouldnt be surprising at 140k miles and most of them being courier vehicles that need regens more often.
It all depends on your budget. If you can afford to replace the parts then do it, if not map it out. I know people say, oh no don’t remap your emissions equipment out, but if the replacement parts were way more affordable than they are, then people would be more inclined to replace rather than remap. Personally if it was mine, I’d be remapping it out. It won’t affect your road worthiness test either. Also 500 pounds seems a small bit steep for a remap. And also, if you do go down that route, get someone to do that knows what they’re doing. Lotta cowboys out there loading crap files onto your car and not doing it right.
Do a delete, get a decent fabricator to cut the internals out and do a proper welding job on it. Not the ideal answer but if you can't afford a new dpf it's your only other solution💁🏼♂️.

Basically, the stealerships just can't be bothered to go indepth, or they haven't had the training.
I'd be surprised if they could spot a flat tyre if it didn't have a fault code

Very interesting, jimmy you’re the man
Top man! You should offer training on these issues. It's really bad when main dealers don't have a clue and don't care. No change there I suppose...

Dont wash dpf. First its good, but after some time you need new dpf anyway. Wasted money
thanks for sharing lad 👍👍👍👍
No problem 👍
Very interesting,, I've noticed mine is now regenerating average 175km,

I had a similar issue with my DS3 but even a new DPF didnt cure it. Never found out why.
Would some of the acid based brick cleaner help shift a bit of ash and extend the life of the dpf a little ?
I did try but didn't help

makes me wonder if dealers are using cheap £35 OBD scanners off Ebay to diagnose stuff.

Can't beat experience Jimmy. It'll be interesting to see how diagnostic software accuracy improves with the advent of Ai.
Do you Is that the same for a Vauxhall insignia 2018, it regens once a week with no errors on the dash, head wreckin
Are you sure it’s properly regenerating?
Jimmy, how do I get in contact with you to get my DPF cleaned on my van? It’s a Peugeot expert please.

Correct me, if I'm wrong BUT... I think the 'km' is a 1,000 miles'... not killometers'?
hello sir
Hi dude.
One statment is wrong in the video. Euro 6.4 cars do regen every 200km(124miles). Thats totally normal.
Older cars they do regen 500-1200km
Ford 2.2eng shit iveco 2.3 3.0 ok
