We begin from scratch and like to have a story that tells us what the animation is all about, who the target audience will be and the key messages that need to be made including any final call to action.
We can provide a script that is produced in consultation with you before taking this and listing all the illustrations we believe will be needed to tell your story effectively.
We work closely with all of our clients during the initial stages to ensure that they are happy with what we going to produce during the final animation stages before we get to that point.
We had draw or animation content on paper before converting it to a digital format because we believe that this provides us with a more authentic effect in the final animation.
This can be a time consuming process but we prefer to provide our customers with a piece of work that is uniquely theirs than drag and drop illustrated content that is selected because it is readily available rather than having been created specifically to support and enhance the story being told.

We do also produce Whiteboard Animations that are drawn digitally on a tablet using iDraw but the quality of the line and resulting visual effect is quite different from something drawn on paper. It is however considerably faster than creating them as described in our How-To above and so we only offer them to clients where the budget is more challenging.

can we add picture or text without hand animation? i want to add some text and images insert by just fade in effect, its possible in videoscribe?
Apologies for the slow reply but yes one can simply add images without the hand but I'm not sure about the fade. Possibly. We tend to use VideoScribe to create the movement of the hand and the transitions from one set of illustrations to the next but do the final editing / compositing in other software such as Aftereffects, Motion and FinalCut Pro. where there are more options on fades, effects and transitions.
OK... I'm trying VS and have one issue I cannot figure out. Just how the heck do you end your design? When I'm done with my last image/text that is going in the design and play it back, at the end, it shows several of the last page images instead of JUST the last one!
Hi John, you need to use the "Set camera to current canvas position" on the RH side of the time line. The icon looks like an reel to reel old film camera and is probably the most important tool for making your scribe look great. Once you have your images in place where you want them to be revealed, click the "Set camera ..." icon before doing anything else to make sure they get redrawn in your animation where you want them to be seen. You may also need to click the ZOOM AT END option, that is only revealed to you when you preview your animation, to switch the default ZOOM OUT setting off if you want to finish your animation on the final image you have used in your timeline.
One other option for ending your scribe with any other image you have used within it is to duplicate it and place this duplicate at the very end of the scribe before switching off the ZOOM AT END option in preview mode. It's a small tick box on the lower R/H side of the preview screen.

This software work only English font? can i use Amharic font?
+Solomon - VA - I'm not sure about the free version of Videoscribe but the full version should allow you to import any font from your font library into the Videoscribe font library. As a last resort you can create your own path over anything you write or type if you first save your phrase or text as a PNG on a transparent background in a good image manipulation application like Photoshop before then placing the vector path ( which the hand and pen / pencil / brush follows ) over the top to create the animated reveal shown in this video. I'd recommend looking at iDraw ( now renamed Graphic ! ) if you are working on a Mac platform. I'm afraid I can't comment on whither it is PC compatible though Inkscape ( if a little clunky ) also works on both.

+Henrietta Hrefna - Our Own. - It is how we ( I ) write Henrietta. This is a "Hand Drawn" illustrated story revealed in Videoscribe rather than one produced in Videoscribe if that makes sense? Thanks for asking.
isn't it much faster to draw digitally on a drawing tablet? could save some serious work
Too right Ties but you loose the quality of the line art one only really gets by drawing on paper. You need a vector file for VideoScribe and if you use the brush tool in most software it will produce a double vector path either side of the brush stroke with a fill to create the "line" which then doesn't look very realistic in VideoScribe. One can create the image digitally using the brush tool and then place a separate vector path over the top on another layer using a tablet but you still end up drawing it twice.
We therefore now offer clients two options of whiteboard animation than was the case 3 years ago when this How-To was produced. A quick simple digital style which is what it is and more affordable than the more visually interesting paper based style which comes at a higher cost. Horses for courses depending on budget, market and brand values. Thanks for your comment.
Myself, I draw directly on a digitally tablet and I use the pencil tool in Illustrator.
