Swatithirinaal Maharaja , great scholar of music and knows many indian languages including English. His uncle irayimman thampi was another scholar at that time. Thami made a thalatu pattu " omana thinkal kidavo" for the kid swatithirinaal , and he also wrote many Keerthanas, padams, and 3 attakahai for Kathakali (dakhayaagam,utharaswayamvaram,keechakavadham). Swatithirinaal brought Vadivelu nattu, said to be the first violinist use violin for Carnatic music. Swatithirinaal brought many other artists singers, dancers from many parts of India. Sadkaala Govinda maarar, famous musician who sings in 6 kaalams was lived with swatithirinaal. Maarar met Thyagaraja Swamikal and sings in front of him. Swatithirinaal and Adisankara did lot of things with very short life span. Padmanabhan Nair Amruthavarshni.
I agree. Swathithirunaal Maharaja was a Scholar, Composer, Linguist and Patron of the Arts. Most Vidhwaans of Carnatic Music will often sing his compositions as Vishaka has done here. I do hope Kerala will take the lead in remembering him...... hope India will honour him by funding a sound and Light Show of his Life and Times.
