My first smartphone was a htc wildfire (good back then, piece of crap now) but I loved the ui and the build quality that I have had a htc since then. I currently have the htc sensation 4g but I want to upgrade to the one x+ so badly. Live your vids Aaron keep up the good work.
I found that if you have the HTC account logged in it uses quite a bit of RAM and near 90% CPU while logged in. Logging out solved it for me. Only thing you'll miss is the ability to track your phone and backup contacts but if you're using Lookout Anti Virus it has a tracking tool and Google automatically backs up your contacts if you're logged in.
you're right for the the J butterfly and the Droid dna.. but the droid dna is not the international version of the phone.. it's only for verizon.. or however.. anyhow.. HTC Butterfly is coming internationally soon.. and as George said.. it has a Micro SD card slot.. :)
I love your reviews , you show all the important stuff except the video quality (watching movies on the phone) ...phonearena and mobiletechreview they always show the movie watching experience on the phone .
I'd choose One X+ over S III, because it's just plainly better, in ever aspect. As for DNA, it's better than note because of the gorgeous display, better benchmark scores and much higher build quality. And 16 GB is quite enough for me personally.
Well, i have been using HTS Sensation XL for a year now, and have encountered zero problems with it. Fast, reliable, durable and functional. Hence my love for the HTC. As for samsung, it's a common fact that they are made of cheap plastic and built not quite as well as their competetion (HTC, Sony, Nokia)
benchmark tests don't show the phones being used in the real world. I have seen it so many times where the lower scoring benchmark phone still outperformed the higher scoring phone when they where performing real world everyday tasks. The ONLY thing better about the DNA vs the Note 2 is the 1080p display. The people and experts both agree that the Note 2 is the better phone and there is a video right on phonedogs RUclips channel.
I feel the same exact way About HTC as you do Samsung in fact I was using 2 brand HTC phones before I touched anything made by Samsung and both of the HTC phone I used failed within the first 6 months of use and they both had horrible battery life. Then I got the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the difference was between night and day. I though I was the only one but after talking to people I know I'm not the only person fed up with them as the numbers show that HTC is losing many customers.
ghz are different depending upon the processor. So the DNA's Snapdragon s4pro's 1.5ghz could be more or less than the w.e the One X+ has. Its like AMD and Intel.
I have the DNA and I love it. I also have a Note 2 and I think the screen looks better on the note 2. Not because it is bigger it just looks better to me. But I use the DNA as my daily phone.
i have been to Verizon wireless store and compared the note DNA. the note 2 display is ridiculous and on the DNA it was the same clarity. the benchmark on the note was better when i tested it. the DNA build quality was better built i still choose the note 2 for it fluidity, size and multitasking and display.
I know the DNA is better... but i like the htc one x + more because its comfortable to use and i have one but to anyone buying either one of them for a first time highly recomend the DNA :)
there is one coming soon!! with Micro SD.. check out GSMarena. It's name is HTC butterfly.. It's the international version of the phone.. but it's not released yet..
why do the Snapdragon S4 Pro Krait perform not so well in the Nexus 4? its scoring 7500+ in droid dna and optimus g, but only 4000+ on Nexus 4. WHY????
It depends on how many people are using it. Around where I live depending on the time of day I have gotten 48mpbs and as little as 10mpbs it just depends on how many people are using it at the same time on any given part of the day.
Firat of all thanks for the reply. After my experience with Android devices, put more RAM instead of just improving the CPU speed. Regarding the SD card, we just love to have it, but personally, I never used it. Ive tried many devices before I brought my gnex 2 months ago, ya I did a mistake and couldnt return it back, but now I am between 2 devices, nexus 4 or this DNA. I just dont like the S3 and the note 2 is too expensive for me now. Would appreciate any help
lol that wud be like $400 maybe what they should do is add an sd slot, and then a 13 mp camera... and i honestly dont get the complaints about the battery. the battery life because the battery life is GREAT especially with the size it is... gotta understand that adding all these superphone specs would make it too expensive to produce, and too much for many of us to purchase :)
Your video is good however your conclusion is wrong because the HTC Droid DNA is a 1.5 ghz and the HTC One X+ is 1.7 ghz so the HTC One X+ is much faster. :P
the internatonal verson of the Droid Dna (butterfly) will have a micro SD card upto 32GB , problem solved ! ... and the battery from what heard s dong great ... buttefly it is
In all do respect you might be one of lucky ones but me and many other people can't recommend HTC for all of there hardware issues. Like I said I was using HTC long before I even touched anything made by them and lets face it Samsung must be doing something right because they sell more handsets vs EVERYONE ELSE.
hahaha "and as I always say with quadrant standard, take it with a grain of salt, it's not indicative of day-to-day performance. That said, I think this does give a nice indicator overall of what you can expect from both of these devices." So it doesn't indicate day-to-day performance, but it is an indicator?
About the ONE X over S3, i totally agree. But your comparison of Note 2 and HTC DNA is just total bullshit. Let me tell u why: Note 2 is much smoother, Better framerate in High-end 3D games, less lag, Faster browser, Faster Ui, S-pen, More features, and the most important thing. BATTERY LIFE. DNA is a fucking battery hungry phone and it lasts only 7-8 hours Note 2 can last at least ONE DAY AND A HALF. My choice, NOTE 2.
I love your dogfight, i'm Italian!!! I follow you since 2010!!!!
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS DOGFIGHT!!!!
My first smartphone was a htc wildfire (good back then, piece of crap now) but I loved the ui and the build quality that I have had a htc since then. I currently have the htc sensation 4g but I want to upgrade to the one x+ so badly. Live your vids Aaron keep up the good work.
"oh snap! Good score!" Aaron's clearly a sports guy :p
I WILL MISS YOU! NOO!!!! I WATCH RUclips BECAUSE OF YOU.
We are gonna miss you Aaron.

The J Butterfly is a Japan only release, the Droid DNA is the European, and international version of it.
The HTC Butterfly(International version of DNA) Unlocked allows up to a 64 GB memory card and it will work on AT&T and T-mobiles 4G network
you're right for the the J butterfly and the Droid dna.. but the droid dna is not the international version of the phone.. it's only for verizon.. or however.. anyhow.. HTC Butterfly is coming internationally soon.. and as George said.. it has a Micro SD card slot.. :)

good luck Aron with whatever you are gonna do now. just to let you know I been watching your videos since you took over Noahs position. best regard
I think the Droid dna is better but,i think it really depends on what carrier you want. dna is on verizon while one x is on at&t i think.
Really satisfied with HTC phones lately. I personally believe they are giving the iPhone a great deal of competition.
so finally which one is best one.. can you please suggest me....
thanks

Tell phonedog to hire Chris smoove he a bit more popular than Arron

Thanks, but how much does it coast and where can I buy the unlocked version?
A Droid DNA+ would be brilliant!!!! (bigger battery and storage)
Don't compare the two. The DNA is as Aaron said "a big smartphone not a phablet" so the two phones are under two different subcategories.
When Aaron officially leaves, you guys should check out Lisa from Mobiletechreview

HTC butterfly is coming. It also has a micro SD card slot! The other are the same specs!
So first Noah leave phonesog.com and now Aaron leaves, I guess eventually I'll just stop referring to phonedog at all .
what are those 4 dots on the side of the one x?
They need to make a HTC EVO+ 4G LTE!
6:43 is the HTC One x+ screen brightness up too high or is it washed out?
where are you going?
there is one coming soon!! with Micro SD.. check out GSMarena. It's name is HTC butterfly.. It's the international version of the phone.. but it's not released yet..
I really dont think the dna is better but thats just preference the one x+ has the sweet tegra processor and the bigger battery and storage.
whats the battery life like on both phones, which one is better?
why do the Snapdragon S4 Pro Krait perform not so well in the Nexus 4? its scoring 7500+ in droid dna and optimus g, but only 4000+ on Nexus 4. WHY????
Is the HTC DNA water proof like the j betterfly?
Boy would i have liked the Droid DNA to be a nexus device.
Search for it in ebay, i found it already but can't post the link
It depends on how many people are using it. Around where I live depending on the time of day I have gotten 48mpbs and as little as 10mpbs it just depends on how many people are using it at the same time on any given part of the day.
How abt the btry lyf in HTC dna..
??
Is there a way to buy an unlocked DROID DNA? And how much it coast? Does it works with T-Mobile?
I now own a Samsung Note 2 and it never gets hot...even when playing high-end games
on my one x+ it reached 24 degrees celcius from playing high end 3D games. They fixed that issue on the one x+
great two phones
Aaron is leaving phonedog? Why
Firat of all thanks for the reply. After my experience with Android devices, put more RAM instead of just improving the CPU speed. Regarding the SD card, we just love to have it, but personally, I never used it.

I love you
It not One X+
the way smartphones are headed im beting in 2020 18inch smartphones will be the new sweet spot
aaron's leaving to give on the moon
the droid dna is supposed to be unlocked to any carrier
As i said, the much better build quality of HTC phones make DNA win hands down... Samsungs are highly unreliable, prone to breaking and glitching.
lol that wud be like $400

HTC did not choose to limit their phone the DNA it was Verizon because it was going to be Their flagship phone
In my opinion, the Nexus 4 beats both. You can't beat the support from Google.
i cant wait for mwc. htc is going to blow the roof off that place
IVE YET TO SEE AN IPHONE TAKE BETTER PICS THAN MY HTC
Your video is good however your conclusion is wrong because the HTC Droid DNA is a 1.5 ghz and the HTC One X+ is 1.7 ghz so the HTC One X+ is much faster. :P
the internatonal verson of the Droid Dna (butterfly) will have a micro SD card upto 32GB , problem solved ! ... and the battery from what heard s dong great ... buttefly it is
They need to allow for sim cards and removable batteries
i get almost 9000 on quadrant on my htc dna every time
And then you realize there's no fucking card slot
Love
Sorry guys but the Note II beats the Droid DNA
Silly boy......it will be 100 inches obviously!
How old r u aron
In all do respect you might be one of lucky ones but me and many other people can't recommend HTC for all of there hardware issues. Like I said I was using HTC long before I even touched anything made by them and lets face it Samsung must be doing something right because they sell more handsets vs EVERYONE ELSE.
Choose to limit the storage to 16GB
tegra 3 is 40nm, s4 is 28nm....the difference is clear.
one x over s3 ...that's what i said...till my one x (not +) battery reached 50 degrees celsius just from facebook browsing...
hahaha "and as I always say with quadrant standard, take it with a grain of salt, it's not indicative of day-to-day performance. That said, I think this does give a nice indicator overall of what you can expect from both of these devices." So it doesn't indicate day-to-day performance, but it is an indicator?
I got 6719,quadrant score. On my one x
0:35
DNA need more battery
Please HTC make a phone the size of the note 2
7969 on my DNA
you are basing a phone decision on xbox controllers...
I got 49.07 mbps on my dna
Nexus 4 is better
About the ONE X over S3, i totally agree.

My choice, NOTE 2.
in your mum's dreams .
You mean only in the battery life department. and any phone could have that great a battery life if it were that massive and ugly
sexy
The note2 is a shit.
