erica vikman came second in the 2020 national selection, and her song became a huge hit in finland. it pretty much revolutionised the national final, as it became a platform for artists to boost their music career. that’s why finland has been so successful at eurovision since, where they really struggled before 2020

First time I heard Finnish music called lighthearted 😄 As pretty much everything except some drinking songs are melancholic ☺ But I guess some might sound more cheery without understanding lyrics ☺
Definitely shades of Babymetal with this - since Jukka Sorsa joined the crew, rock guitar has become very prominent in Kaarija's music and that's a great thing
There are no limitations to how many times or when you can participate in Eurovision. Many artists have participated many times in national finals and some even made it to Eurovision several times, for example Loreen. Käärijä however has said that he will never participate again.
You should react on the official video too, and Käärijäs Chachacha at Emma- gala too, they are supercool and Käärijä is the best💚💚

erika is amazing, her song cicciolina is pretty much the reason our national final started to have more campy and interesring entries and overall brought such a fresh breeze to the competition, this collab was insanely good
Käärijä wrote this before releasing Cha Cha Cha, and "forgot it to this archives to be released some other better time with some powerfull female singer"😮

They could've won the whole shebang with this, but Käärijä has said he is one and done with the ESC. And I understand it.
Every artist will have their DNA, but I think this is pretty different from Cha Cha Cha. However, I think anything Käärijä does will always be compared to it. And that is not a negative.
A couple of things: she lashes the whip, because the song is literally called "Ruoska", which is 'whip' in Finnish. The song is about both these artist garnering such hateful comments online. So, essentially this is an anti-bullying song. Secondly, Erika Vikman is one of the most popular pop stars in Finland right now, but she first became known as a *tango artist* by winning the Seinäjoen tangomarkkinat (est. 1985) singing contest. And as someone in the comments suggested, you should check out her songs "Syntisten pöytä", "Cicciolina", and "Mäkin haluun pizzaa" to get a good idea about what kind of music she makes.

Käärijä wasn't nominated as a Eurovision representative this year. He was the winner of last year in Finland and this was the performance show of halftime after the candidates of 2024 eurovision competitiers had performed their own shows.
