The Energon series is, in my opinion, one of the best Transformers series out there. It doesn't treat the Autobots and Decepticons as a cookie cutter good guy/bad guy story, but gives them actual personalities and different sides to each character. Autobots are shown to be capable of evil actions, and Decepticons are shown to be capable of merciful actions.
