- In this video I re-tumble some agates from a previous video that did not take a good shine due to an error in using the wrong grit for final polish. I correct the error and come up with some pretty shiny rocks!! We take a look at the rocks close up and I do a before and after slide show at the end. THANKS FOR WATCHING!!

The jaspers are beautiful too, but those agates were breathtakingly beautiful!
🤙
I am a huge fan of looking at polished rocks, and not polished rocks too, but I'm a sucker for the polished ones they're just so beautiful!
Lots more polishing videos coming!!
I am dazzled by the beauty of the gemstones! I love it!
Thanks Carmen!!
All beautiful rocks. I cant wait to be able to go rockhounding with my grandchildren and teach them more about rocks. Thanks for the great video.
Rockhounding with them will be awesome!! Its such a rewarding experience.
When we go on vacation to visit them we do some but I wasn't into it like I am now. I love rockhounding. We would go looking for shells and sea glass on the shoreline. The girls loved that. Sadly with this virus we have been unable to visit them this year. Hopefully next year we will be able to make it out there.
Agates have always been my favorite, so your agates are my choice for the best. But they're all beautiful.
Thanks!!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Thank you for the new video! Made my day!
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it!!!
Those agates!!!! Outstanding!
Thanks!!
So many favorites what a great variety.
🙌🙌
That eye agate, WOW!
👁🙌👀
Thanks so much, a 😎 cool rcock? You surprised 😮. That falling over your feet fabulous, fantastic, amazing rock. I love ❤️ it.
Rock on!
I love to see someone who actually tumbles their agates. They are all beautiful!
Thanks! I like to tumble our agates to tye point where they still have a bit if their original shape but they are shinier.
I really like the peacock feather find.... the colors and patterns appears so deep. The music is just the right volume btw. It made me so home sick for Nova Scotia at Xmas. Mary Christmas guys....
Thats a cool one for sure. Sorry for making you home sick 😔
Love all the agates! So pretty! The eye agate is one of my favorites...the color is beautiful!
Thanks! The eye agates are awesome!
Fantastic job tumbling these agates. All of them are beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Cheers!
thank you for sharing your blessings with us , may God bless your new year
Thank you!! Happy new year!!
Beautiful. Enjoyed watching. For the metallic band in your jasper, we might lean toward Hemetite.
I think you are right!!
Nice. These are really great.
Thank you!! Happy Holidays!!
Well done Sir! Really enjoy your video &slide show!
Merry.xmas everyone.
Happy Holidays!!!
That eye agate is way cool
That's the one I found in the bottom of Chase's bucket the next day after the hunt. He didn't remember picking it up.
Very very beautiful all
Thanks!! 🙏🙌
Very beautiful verity of stones brotha.
Thanks 🤙🤙
Just beautiful!!! 💚
Thank you! 😊
OMG!!! These are so gorgeous! Many many Jewelry-worthy pieces in there! I'm just drooling--you certainly are in the area for THE MOST BEAUTIFUL Colors & Patterns!! Do you have a cabbing setup & interest in making cabs? I could just see so many of these as set in either fancy wire-wraps or silver bezel settings! Thanks so much for sharing your RICHES with us!! And Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!
p.s. that Red Eyed Beauty is the most spectacular thing I've ever seen!!!
We don't have a cabbing machine. Schedule is a bit busy these days to take on too many lapidary activities. Tumbling seems to be all I really have time for. Perhaps someday if the channel grows I can get some more resources and possibly start making jewelry but for now we are just stockpiling all of our tumbled rocks. An Etsy store is another possibility. Thanks for watching and Happy Holidays!!
🙌🙌
@@RockhoundingLife Please forgive my unwarranted vicarious ambition! I do know that full-on lapidary can be an all-consuming energy magnet-I only managed to dodge that bullet for myself by moving away, which ended my own rockhound efforts. In my pathetic defense, it's just that your rocks are SO VERY BEAUTIFUL and I could so clearly see them made up into jewelry. I'd for sure wear pieces made from your little jewels. My apologies.
@@littleSallyJo goodness no need to apologize!! Its great that you think our rocks are jewelry worthy and is making me consider doing something more with them. When I am ready to start turning them into something more I will have lots of stock material!!
Happy Holidays!!!
oops. Poop happens. I started doing a final day or two with borax and it makes a big difference. OOOO eye agate. I have some but that one is stunning. I agree about the tiny ones.
I actually started doing a day in Borax after polish as well. I also do a 2hr borax run after each stage.
I think I liked everything you liked
🤙🤙
All beautiful! Wonderful tumble job. I’d say the last you showed would be my favorite. I’m always conflicted with “ natural as found “ and tumbled. Don’t get me wrong, I love the tumbled shiny, I just see such a change always, and it’s hard to know which would be best. Merry Christmas! Have fun with those boys of yours! You are all super cool! Thank you for the videos!
I like our agates to have a bit of a natural look which is why I won't leave them long in stage 1.
Happy Holidays!!
Beautiful polished rocks. I'm enjoying exploring your video library as a new subscriber. If I can make one small suggestion? I noticed that the bright blue towel underneath is casting a bit of color and interfering a little with the stones (mostly the blue reflecting on the surface). Makes it harder to see the shadow bands and some of the lighter colors. Perhaps a more neutral colored backdrop would help? Just a thought.
I have two sons I am also sharing my love of rocks with and we are beginning tumbling and hounding in our stomping grounds in the pacific northwest. So much fun to see what people in other areas are finding. Great content; we are looking forward to more! Thanks!
Thanks so much for that feedback! It is always welcome! Not to worry though, my wife said the same thing about the blue towel and we got rid of it awhile ago. You won't be seeing it again!! Thanks for watching and subscribing!!
@@RockhoundingLife aha! I need to catch up on the videos it seems! Lol
Looks like crazylace agates
👍
Those were beautiful! My faves were the eye agate and the 2-tone jasper with the metallic line. Could the line be some kind of pyrite?
It might be marcasite or pyrite. I already checked it for magnetism and its a negative so its not hematite or magnetite.
Can you tell me where to go online for the rock polishing grits? Or I can ask Rob tomorrow.
I get all my grit at Kingsley North!
Where do you get your grits from?
have you ever carved an agate? other than making cabachons and tumbling?
Unfortunately no. With kids activities and work its hard to find time. I also don't have the proper equipment. I want to though and its something I will try in the future.
@@RockhoundingLife i am trying to redo my work space, so i can do this sitting down, i am no longer able to stand, walk, for a long time so i need to adjust to sitting down while i work with stones! thank you for you and your kidds videos!!
The eye Agate is fantastic. I am new to tumbling using the rotary tumbler alone. Thinking about getting a Lot o Tumbler check my channel out and give me your opinion on my tumbling results.
Heading to your channel now!
