Once you get the plate around the drive shaft you just need to hit it with a hammer so it slides all the way around the dif
Mine didn't fit correctly either; that front brace/collar isn't shaped right to fit over the diff near the drive shaft. I tried bending it for a better fit (to alleviate the pressure being put on those two bottom bolts which ended up twisting and moving when sliding over rocks) and ended up mangling the collar and just decided to discard it and wrapped some thick steel rope around the diff and through the two bolt holes and used wire clamps to snug the front end of the plate up against the diff, in place of the crappy collar. If I had it to do over again, I would go with the BAMF diff skid instead; much better design.
Check out Classy Tacos install. I think the front brace is supposed to be pushed all the way rearward as possible..

@@TacoManD4X4 hows the visibility on the 5%? Been debating between 5% or 15% on my Ram 1500... 5% just looks so much better lol
Night time is nearly impossible to reverse into a parking spot without rolling the windows down haha other than that 5% isn’t an issue
