Vietnam repeats as AVC Challenge Cup champ after sweep of Kazakhstan!
VIETNAM dominated Kazakhstan, 25-20, 25-22, 25-22, to complete a six-game sweep in a successful defense of the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup for Women title on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
The world's No. 38 ranked side captured the gold for the second year running despite Trần Thị Thanh Thúy (T4) - last year’s tournament MVP.
In T4’s absence, opposite hitter Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen manned the title-winning ship for Asia’s sixth-ranked team at the expense of sinking the higher-ranked, world No. 30 Kazakhs in their competition debut.
The eventual tournament MVP fired a game-high 26 points built on 24 attacks, one block and one ace.
Best middle blocker Lê Thanh Thúy also converted five blocks in the title-clinching victory.
On the flip side, the tournament's best outside hitter Sana Anarkulova paced a historic silver-medal finish for the Kazakhs with 15 points on 14 attacks and one block.
The Vietnamese side secured its spot in the eight-team field of the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Challenger Cup on July 4 to 7 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, in which the Philippines will compete as the host nation.
The champion of this tournament will qualify for the 2025 edition of the Volleyball Nations League.

The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) does not support gender testing for athlete Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen.

* "Bich Tuyen has all the necessary identification documents and there is no evidence to suggest that her gender is an issue. Therefore, demanding gender testing for her is unnecessary and violates FIVB regulations."
* AVC also mentioned receiving numerous responses from Vietnamese fans expressing their support for Bich Tuyen. AVC appreciates this support and reaffirms its commitment to protecting the rights of all athletes.
AVC's stance can be summarized as follows:
* AVC does not support gender testing for Bich Tuyen.
* AVC adheres to FIVB regulations on determining athlete gender.
* Bich Tuyen has all the necessary identification documents and there is no evidence to suggest that her gender is an issue.

As for the Adam's apple, I mean it appears like a man's. The angle at which the cartilages meet is approximately 90 degrees, causing the Adam's apple to bulge out. and is more clearly visible in women.
And training shoulders to have feminine muscles will be different from men. I train Chalesthenic and Weight training so I have shoulder muscles too and I know better how their form differs from that of women. Even if there are women with wide shoulders, still won't be as like men shoulders.

As a Chinese volleyball fan who loves to watch volleyball. I don't understand why people had so much hate on Tuyen due to her being like a man. If she is a female then she is a female, there are no arguments in that regard. I also have to admit that Vietnam made huge progress in their women's volleyball program. In the final match against Kazakhstan, they are very resilient in their floor defense and they chose the right strategy in countering Kazakhstan's main hitter Anarkulova. The Vietnamese deserved the win, but Kazakhstan gave everything they had and I give them credit as well. By the way, Kazahkstan's number 2 Anarkulova was simply exhausted in this game due to being overloaded in previous games. She even scored 65 points in the group stage of the AVC Challenge cup. KAZ relied on Anarkulova for attacks way too much and a lot of her attacks were back row attacks that are more physically demanding for her. The Vietnamese were target serving her whenever they can, but the Kazahkstanis provided enough protection for her. 42 attacks in 3 sets is just a little too much to a 34 year old veteran: Anarkulova. She couldn't even jump as high and hit high quality balls in set 3 and her stamina was pushed to the limits by the Kazakhstani coach.
