It's a nice touch that Karin was considerate enough to cheer up her friend by sending Ryu to her.
That's just Karin letting Sakura know that she can have "her man" anywhere she wants him with 1 phone call, and Ryu doesn't even have a phone. Think about that.
@@bw4348 Either Karin's showing off in case she wants a piece, or showing off as the ultimate wingman/woman. Either way, it's a power play.
She supports the ship and the fact that everyone who knows Sakura knows how head over heels she is for Ryu. It was a friendly gesture to get her friend out of her funk.

Im sooo sooo glad she's not the same super hyper young girl ditching class and blindly chasing Ryu around. She's actually matured a lot and is starting to wonder what she really wants to do with her life and what she really wants to achieve. I love the character development, she genuinely seems older.
Yet I don't like this ship. And will she able to meet Sean Matsuda? I would like to see these compete on who is the better pupil.
Yea i have never thought that she should be with Ryu at all, always hated that, but i do like that she's more mature and questioning her real ambition, thats pretty cool to see after all these years. Yea i would love to see her and Sean interact with each other at some point, Ken's student vs Ryu's "student". Tho Ryu never formally trained Sakura she's actually a somewhat competent fighter, i think she would beat Sean since he doesnt seen very strong YET. But i think he has more drive and determination to be a better fighter whereas Sakura is starting to wan in that department.
Why do you say that?? You know Sean sucks right? Lol. Of course he’ll end up being better like I said, because he has the drive, passion, and determination to. Sakura used to, but as we can see here she’s starting to lose that and her goals are changing. SF5 Sakura destroys SF3 Sean. Sean is officially around “Dan tier” in canon.

Interesting revelation for Ryu's thoughts about relationships, and a revelation for Sakura's path of life. To see Sakura grow like that makes me smile. I almost thought she's gonna stay tomboy until I saw her SFV design. And oh boy did it not dissapoint by the story. She really did grow as a woman. :)

Ryu knows about them. He is just not interested in romantic relationships. He said, that it’s a another type of strength. But it’s not the type that he desires. That’s what was getting to. He was implying that Sakura can do her own thing but he will never find desire in that.

Awwwn, this was lovely in every way.
From Karin fetching Ryu for her best friend, to Sakura's concerns about her future, then Ryu and Sakura adressing a topic that is not as easy as street fighting and trying to reach an answer the best way they can... it was really touching. Karin concerned about Sakura, Ryu helping her ease off some tension, both struggling with the idea of having a family to carry your legacy on... :)
And of course, that awkward misunderstanding that Sakura ended up making at the end. XD Goddammit, girl! You took this to another topic! Hahahahaha!

Sakura really has grown up. She achieved the strength she wanted. But now she knows that she can't do what Ryu does. She can't just drop everything and start traveling the world, looking to grow stronger. She knows one day she will die, and her strength will die with her. So now, she wants to start a family, so she can pass her strength down to the next generation.
I wouldn't mind having kids with her😅

Wow, they made Sakura's issue really relatable. We all struggle with ourselves about the future. Knowing that we will all die one day. What can we leave in this world that can help the future and our purpose?
As an adult its weird seeing a character I grew with ask questions and have concerns I had. I feel connected to her my connection was always more than fanservice. Her asking what lies beyond hit way too close. I guess she should be my true main...
When a character like Tenzin from "Legend of Korra" is married to a woman 16 years younger, nobody panics. But when SF's Sakura implies she wants to have children with a guy 7-8 years older than her, everyone loses their minds! XD

Ryu is too boring and plain of a character to go for that kind of life. When it come to character interactions and personality, ryu is bland. Fighting wise, he is one of the most amazing.

Wonderful. I see that Sakura is starting to question her life decisions. This is great! I mean, Sakura is young and (was) a high schooler. She doesn't have the life Ryu does and doesn't exactly have his drive. Even though Ryu still isn't ready for a disciple (seriously, by the time SF3 New Generation/2nd Impact comes, Ken has a disciple. Aren't you going to do that too Ryu?! XD), it's nice that he's still offering his advice to her; as little as it may be.
It's really nice, I like it. It's a short story focusing on a Sakura that's growing up. Real-life stuff (minus the Street Fighting, lol). Even a grown up Sakura is still cute in my book though~! ^_^
Do you know why she has a earpiece/microphone on in her regular outfit? Not sure if I missed the reason.
We all thought she was some type of flight attendant, but it turns out she's working at a part time job at an Arcade...
To be honest, aside from the possibility of her being a flight attendant (which isn't true apparently), I don't know *why* she's wearing an earpiece. ^_^U

She's basically an arcade hype man. In Japanese arcades they have attendants that will announce when a player is doing well at a game. That is either her job or they just added it as a part of her costume.

RedoLane i Was a fan to die of Ryu and Chun li, ( its a good fan couple) but its like... The throphy pairing, in the canon no one woman cares about Ryu like Sakura does. Yeah Ryu had a words with other girls but not in the same way, its just the story behind these two.
Caleb Lael Chun-Li and Ryu do interact briefly with her, go all on fights, and eventually Chun-Li has grown fond of him. While I do understand this is Sakura's story, but Ryu admires Chun-Ali's determination since the Street Fighter 2 series.
A.J Thomas in the canon they never had a deep interact until Sfv as friends. I know that flashback in sf alpha 3, Sakura Is there too, Chun li doesn't see Ryu in some romantic way, Charlie or guile have a strongest relationship with Chun li than Ryu.

In my opinion, Sakura has found the answer to a great doubt that neither Ryu has been able to clarify, why become the strongest or the best? In any case, getting it will not have any value if you do not have a reason that makes you feel good with what you get, we all have the same destiny and for her to reach him, without even living the pleasures of life is something he does not want, LIFE IS MORE THAN FIGHTING WITH THE FIST! To matured too much in such a short time, and with it responsibilities are brought, to pursue a goal without having all the necessary tools ?, Rays I can not imagine that. Finally he has sent a hint and well I hope they can finish together or see the continuation of his Ending in SFIV, only dad Capcom will give us the answer. Thanks Capcom.

I've always favored the RyuxSakura ship, and it's definitely nice to see her progressing as a character. At the same time, though, something about it rubs me the wrong way. The "having kids" angle makes sense on paper, but I don't know... it just feels odd that we'd go IMMEDIATELY from "I like fighting, and I'm in love with Ryu" to "I think I'll get a full-time job and breed." Like, could we maybe explore her dating and getting into teaching a bit while still making time for fighting before we jump to going full normie?
Also, she's worried about the cost of travel? Feels like there's someone she knows who manages perfectly fine traveling on just fight money...

I know responding to a 5 year old comment is a bit odd but I think what she had was a ROUGH idea of what she wanted to do. She doesn’t want to JUST have kids, she’s come so far that she no longer is just the student, she believes herself to have learned enough to become THE TEACHER to give what she learned to the next generation and to help and inspire those who are also new to fighting like Ryu helped her. I can definitely see her opening her own dojo and teaching fighting to newcomers.
I like all the neat little crossovers between the stories like how this one ties in with Blanka's story, or how Lucia's ties with Cody's

I would rather not have that relationship to be canon. Can't you tell on their age difference? Ryu's is about In his thirties as Ken and Chun Li while Sakura's in her early twenties. I ship Ryu x Chun Li instead.
A.J Thomas oh damn I knew new the age difference. That kinda sucks though because I love how excited Sakura is compared to how tame Ryu is. I don't really know the Chun and Ryu interactions to well to really think they'd be a couple.
Megazard XL there's 7 years between Ryu and Sakura, she Is 23 or 24 and Ryu probably 29 or 30, Is not too much. But anyway both have a strong link, both put their lives in danger for each other, in that kind of relationship the age... Really doesn't matter.

Perhaps the most thoughtful of the Character Stories (along with, surprisingly, Poison's). Interesting to note this has the same name as the anime McDonald's commercial that was extremely popular while this was being developed, and the two arguably share similar themes and tone.

If we follow the years before the game was retconned to fit the present day. Sakura should be 20-22 while Ryu should be 30-32 so their age gap isn't big. This is based on whether SFV takes in 1994-1996.

Now I can calculate it better she is a bit younger than Cammy... to be honest I loved the idea to respect it, since if they took the original Capcom datas... it make sence.. since Capcom dies in 2003 when I was little... so this for me is something apart, but I can tell this was good for respect the classic games ages.

Her ending is great. Ryu praising Sakura for becoming stronger is just like Optimus Prime praising Bumblebee for saving Earth in Bumblebee movie ending.

Okay, NOW I understand why everyone was losing their tops over this story. Hmm... not too keen on the whole ship entirely myself, but I had a feeling this angle would present itself at some point, just from seeing the personality and direction of Sakura alone. The only thing missing is confirmation.
As odd as it is for me to say, this I wouldn't mind, but considering it precedes SF3 in terms of timeline... my view of Ryu would alter a little of they went all the way with that setup.
I love this story.. Ed’s is probably runner up, but I just love Sakura as a character even more now.

Charlie was gonna be dead by he end of V either way, because his body would decay either way. Giving the win to the poster boy only made it more humiliating.. But hey, I still enjoy playing him.. even though he’s low tier garbage...
Cristian W. Nash's development was great until they made his sactrifice against Bison. It should've been Ryu and Guile distracting Bison and Nash makes the self destruct killing Bison in this process.

Next thing you know, it will be like Jann Lee and Lei Fang scene with the train where they were about to fight. Then the train starts shaking and they lose their balance with Lei Fang on top of Jann Lee realizing how close they were and all they could do is just stare at each other.

we assume that sakura is about 15-18 in sf alpha（1988-1990), then, sakura's age in sfv is about 23-26 and ryu's age is about 30-32 (he born in 1964). So, THEY HAVE AN AGE DIFFERENCE THAT ABOUT 4-9 YEARS ONLY!!!

anyways this story mode is really cute!!!! im so proud of capcom for actually having a character develop and question themselves with actual meaning unlike the other attempt that was made in third strike that made no sense to the story
