I love how everyone assumed she was someone of importance simply because of how she appeared, yet they didn't even know her personally. She was a simple small town woman going through every day life problems but kept herself together in the head. She chose to shine because she realized that life was short and she should enjoy it and make all her dreams come true. This movie is underrated and it bothers me.
Dude , because this is working relationship. She look fancy, that why they think she rich. She might be a good sponsor for politicians. Someone powerful and wealthy is benefits for them later. Have you ever care about the personality of business partners?
N you're not going to be in town and I will be there in a few more questions for you about it tomorrow if that's okay with or without you in my prayers and thoughts and prayers as soon as possible to the meeting on the left is the client and I will be there for sure we will have a great time and I will make sure that the kids and I will be able to come in for an interview tomorrow with me and I'll be in the same time as the only thing that is not the case I will be there in a few more questions about it tomorrow and I will call you in a bit of the only one that has to be able to come
I understand your point but there's more to it than her appearance. She arrived at the hotel via helicopter. At the time, the bell hop reported that the only person he ever saw come in via helicopter was Elton John. It's only natural that they thought she was someone rich and important.
I once had a job that paid really well. I was single. I went out in my best dress and ate at a 5 star restaurant alone. And yes, the chef came out and talked to me. I'm happy to have done it once. It's an incredible memory. I hope every one does it at least once in their life.
I'm so sad this movie did poorly at the box office. I'll admit it's nothing groundbreaking or artistically revolutionary. But the visuals are beautiful, the music is pleasant, the message of self-love is positive, and of course, Queen Latifah is gorgeous and extraordinary in appearance and performance.
Marvel Disneyfan I saw this and thought what kind of modern day movie like this is doing when the protagonist doesn’t get a second or third opinion of her prognosis?
Yes she looks beautiful in that dress. I personally prefer the red head in the table. She is stunning. Queen Latifah does a great job in this movie. Her personality is great.
I love the fact that she has pure joy about food and is not afraid of the calories. I find that people don't enjoy life much anymore and seeing her joy for food brought joy for me. It shows how important it is to find joy in life. We need it a lot more now than ever and this is just a nice reminder to me to find joy in my own life.
I find this movie, "Last Holiday" to be very inspiring, empowering, and uplifting. One of these days, I'm going to work up the courage to dress up real elegant like Queen Latifah's character, Georgia, and go to a fancy restaurant all by myself and order all of the specials like Georgia did. Like Georgia, I'm a foodie, and I appreciate fine dining and visiting good quality and reputable restaurants. I really like how independent Georgia is in this movie, and how she realizes that you can have fun by yourself, and fulfill some of your bucketlist wishes by yourself. And this movie teaches you if good things are meant to be - they will happen to you eventually. Queen Latifah looked beautiful in this clip.
Honestly, this movie is the reason why I enjoy eating alone when visiting new places. It used to make me so uncomfortable. I have no illness and have no intention of bankrupting myself, but for the love of god, just enjoy your own company once in a while.
I more or less did this my first trip to New Orleans, albeit at a dinner with friends. I ordered the biggest sampler platter on the menu and added appetizer dishes of BBQ shrimp, shrimp scampi, and gumbo so I could try almost everything. The waiter wished us an enjoyable meal and said "I KNOW you're going to enjoy yours!" while grinning ear-to-ear.
There was a scene in this film where Queen looked at herself in the mirror and told herself somewhere along the lines of, “you’re gonna love more, smile more” and that hit me. This movie delivered an important message through Queen’s character ... live life!
I always figured the boss hit him as like a performance and hid him in the back for day or two. If a hotel guest fussed like that I would just keep my employee out of their way until they left!
Only when she thought she was going to die, did she begin to live. So many people make the mistake of waiting for things to happen, letting life pass them by. This movie reminds me to cherish and use well the time I have left.
I just went down that weird rabbit hole that high school English teacher usually fall into when discussing symbolism in books. When you said she was the only one wearing color I watched the scene again and noticed something interesting. Three other people have a touch of red to their appearance in the scene: Ms. Burns' hair as well as the Senator's and Congressman's ties. These three people would ultimately be won over by Georgia, much to Kramer's increasing annoyance. Also in the same scene Kramer experiences another annoyance from the color red as the waiter spills wine on his had. Now all of this is probably nothing but it's funny how the use of red in this scene reflects the future character developments in the movie.
To be honest, I adored this movie as a kid. And it maybe kinda comtributed to my nihilism as an adult. You can change your life at any second. In a week, she went from a terrible job exploiting her, to a wonderful vacation and hoards of wealth. Its wonderful.
Well, she also emptied out her entire life savings to do it, since she expected to die soon. I imagine she recovered financially after establishing a successful restaurant that drew attention in its opening because of her adventure (not that she meant to, but accidentally getting on a magazine cover and making insider-connections with restaurant who's-who helped a lot). But it was still a risk, since she wasn't actually dying.
I watched this movie a couple of time already. I recently rewatch it after 5 years, when life has kicking me so hard I feel like I cant get up. The movie bring tears to my eyes, I understand her on a different level. Her character is such a wholesome beautiful woman. And very brave ofcourse. I made myself get up, change and take a walk today.
Georgia is an absolute BOSS in this movie. Going on her dream holiday solo and totally shining during her dinner-for-one appearance. Absolute boss! Such a QUEEN.
Whenever I'm down, I like to watch this movie because I relate to her character so much. I'm also quite shy and introverted so seeing her blossom throughout movie encourages me to do the same ❤️
This movie also taught me the importance of cherishing time with yourself, and self love. Hell, I felt great doing stuff like this too as an adult, getting dressed up and seated in a restaurant with the ability to treat myself.
This dress symbolizes her falling back in love with life, It’s also layered with hot pink fabric… which is what makes it pop on screen so much. Absolutely beautifullllll.. could only imagine looking that beautiful one day.
This movie, along with another called "The Holiday." Both came out in 2006 when I was four (going on 5 my days in Dec). Since that time I have become quite the moviegoer and have obviously seen a lot of movies that surpass both of these movies in a traditional and non-traditional way. But both of them are still my favorite movies EVER, no matter what I do I just cannot shake them. I have watched them both countless times and never tire of them. They have such a charming and nostalgic value to me, as well as being nearly completely different from other romance movies that I had seen then, as well as now. P.s Sorry to go all wax poetic, but genuinely love these movies.
Queen Latifah has such an amazing smile , it's not about her teeth , but her smile and her eyes are a window into her soul . I liked her even when she was acting like a bad mamajama doing rap . I could tell she had a good soul way back then . The world needs more people like her
This was one of my favorite movies I've seen as a kid, the morals and messages it gave were so good. As much as many critics believed it wasn't as good, it still holds as a movie worth watching every now and then
One of my favorite movies whenever I feel down. So uplifting to watch. Very enjoyable story, lovely characters, funny scenes, strong message, beautiful shots and the love story is not the main topic but self-love and how it csn affect other people positively ... Everything you want in a feel-good movie. ❤️
Ordering one of everything so you can taste it all is a DREAM!!!!!! I love that she does it because he makes different things each day. And I love that he makes new things every day. And I love her red dress. And Gus Fring not keeping his eyes off her.
There's just something about this movie that is sooooo charming. (Besides Queen Latifah.) I saw a random post once about what movie could/would you watch for 48 hours straight. This is definitely one that I'll watch.
Greetings from the Czech Republic (it’s Where the movie was filmed). I completely forgot about this amazing movie. So glad it showed up in my recommended :)
I absolutely LOVE this movie! Great from start to end. Sad parts, but funny parts as well. Queen Latifah did a wonderful job in this movie! She was fantastic from the beginning to end! I have to say this is my favorite movie of hers! ❤ I give this movie a 10!
This is my comfort movie - literally whenever I have a bad time, I always come back to this movie and it just makes me smile enough to at least understand the bad things around me So glad I found this
This is will and forever be my favorite movie. I always watch this around Christmas time because it just helps me appreciate who I am. Also, I just love Queen Latifah
I miss good wholesome movies like this, reminds me of the times where we’d watch these movies with friends and families around the holidays before everybody went their own separate ways…😢
When the chef walked out and went straight to queens table instead of them, was satisfying as hell lol
Agreed!
Nothing more attractive than a woman who knows how to eat.
I love how everyone assumed she was someone of importance simply because of how she appeared, yet they didn't even know her personally. Bothers me too, i watch this movie alot!
Well I have learned in my experience that people do treat you different depending on how you dress, groom, and physically look.
Dude , because this is working relationship. She look fancy, that why they think she rich. She might be a good sponsor for politicians. Someone powerful and wealthy is benefits for them later. Have you ever care about the personality of business partners?

@Hurricane Amanda thank you! I want to say it was a place called Biaggis but that doesn't sound right. It's been a while haha.
Wow...I am a teen ..and my dream is to earn a lot of money and make this film(the lavish life part only😅😅😅) my reality
@Dion J Is that sarcasm? Lol why would this person lie.
Thanks for sharing. That was inspiring. I'll try to do that one day.
Yes go independent woman don’t need no men ✨✨
I'm so sad this movie did poorly at the box office. I'll admit it's nothing groundbreaking or artistically revolutionary. Marvel Disneyfan I saw this and thought what kind of modern day movie like this is doing when the protagonist doesn’t get a second or third opinion of her prognosis?
I loved this movie. Seen it multiple times. My favorite part is when she whacks her head, and imagines LL Cool Jay leaning down to kiss her.
It did bad?! It's my favorite movie. The story, the emotion, the comedy was great. The message about living life was sweet.
This movie was great!!!
No it didn't it was #1
Anyone else thinking about how stunning the queen looked in that red dress?
Yes she looks beautiful in that dress. I personally prefer the red head in the table. She is stunning. Queen Latifah does a great job in this movie. Her personality is great.
Xoxo_ Tiffany _Xoxo I sure was. She looked amazing!
She looks good in red. :)
yes she’s the queen
@@BoobLover4Life Why can't you simply say that a black woman is attractive without saying that prefer the white woman?
Red is definitely Queen Latifah’s colour- she looks absolutely beautiful 💋
Everybody looks good in red, you just need to find the perfect shade
Warm-toned complexion. Yes.
Happy 50th birthday to her!!!
@@Power-9Hunnid Happy Birthday to Queen Latifah.
Yes truly fit for queen such as her.

She thought she was going to die in a few weeks. So if I had that diagnosis, I would have no regards for calories either
I don’t. After all this in the year, I just enjoy myself and my family
@@Princess97895 be6$15#'.
I'm that way, I don't care how many calories it is ^_^ I just eat and enjoy.
Im a simple man, I saw someone make food, or have food I eat
Rebel Wilson: I’ll be the first plus size woman in a romcom lead
Me: *COUGH* QUEEN *COUGH* LATIFAH
And her movie was boring
Thanks for the to the plug the ✔️
Thank you!
Queen Latifah was also the lead in another romcom Just Wright with Common.
Agreed. Mo'Nique, too.

I agree with you completely! I always come back here and there to watch this movie.
VelvetGal5 do it no one can stop you but you
Girl it’s been 5 years, I hope you were able to do it ❤️
@VelvetGal5 that’s why I love this movie!.. it never gets old
I did once, and it was 100% worth it. Do it, VelvetGal5!!
Honestly, this movie is the reason why I enjoy eating alone when visiting new places. It used to make me so uncomfortable. I have no illness and have no intention of bankrupting myself, but for the love of god, just enjoy your own company once in a while.
100%
I do that all the time sis. I am not going to go back to eating with a lot of people around me.
exactly!!!
I agree! I find that people actually are pleasant when they see you enjoy life and actually assume the best of you in these scenarios!
I more or less did this my first trip to New Orleans, albeit at a dinner with friends. I agree how it ever it was priceless how the Waiter spilled wine over Kragens hand.
✋
I felt really angry, as there is no reason to hit someone of the staff because of a mistake...
@@Naomi-tj1qz that's what they did.

The most inspiring film of all time
One of my favorite scenes. Not caring that she there alone and not caring about who sees what she eats life goals 😀

Everyone in that restaurant is wearing black/white/grey: Georgia shows up in bright red.

It's the "Oh hello sista" for me 😁😊😂 that's always my favorite part.

Funny how I see this now as I'm transitioning through my own rough time to my paradise. It's lovely and comforting right now.
Well, she also emptied out her entire life savings to do it, since she expected to die soon. She worked really, really hard and never spent that money. Not everyone is so disciplined.
I know that Queen Latifah is already a beautiful woman, but in that dress she is absolutely *stunning!*

They left out the best part at the end....."tooth, baby...the tooth is sweet!" lol.
GodsDe He spoke French to her saying, "Tout? All?" and she replied saying, "Tout, baby. Tout de suite."
Tout: all (hence why the waiter asks Tout? All?)
Tout de suite: at once.
That’s not what she said! 😂
I like your line, better. Lol.
Should've been: "Tout, baby. The tooth is sweet!" In the movie. Lol
tout de suite: now
I watch this movie every damn month it feels like but I never get tired of it. lol
One of my favorite movies of all time. I love it!
I’ve watched this movie many times now it’s still a good movie
I miss good wholesome movies like this, reminds me of the times where we’d watch these movies with friends and families around the holidays before everybody went their own separate ways…😢
Latifah is a gem ❤
Love this movie, queen latifah so beautiful
0:33 Giancarlo Esposito as the Senator (He also plays the big drug guy/owner of Los Pollos Hermanos , Gus on "Breaking Bad") That show is AWESOME!
Amanda Goldsworth No wonder he looked familiar!!
She never ever lied to them
They just assumed
Also Queen Latifah is SO beautiful
Saw this on the TBS, TNT, USA, etc.-type channels and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
I have this movie on dvd. She is such a beautiful lady and great actress. And what a great movie!
This movie was filmed in my Hometown New Orleans. Outstanding
