As a 40 year old, I just gotta say I so enjoy how y’all interpret mid-rise jeans as low-rise. In the early 2000s low-rise jeans required grooming to pull off.
I'm in my 30s and in my teens I was traumatized by low rise, not even kidding! And then recently I bought a couple or mid-to-low rise jeans and wide trouser pants, and they fit so good! Like, they are low, but they still can hold the entirety of my (quite chonky) butt! What sorcery is this?
Also love these videos, trying trends is fun but it’s exhausting to be “on trend” when the cycle is changing so fast! I like that you chose a more sustainable way to try them out ❤
For the dresses and skirts over jeans, I really think its the cut of the jean that makes it or breaks it. A straight leg/mom style where it kind of tapers in at the ankle gives a more oval silhouette. Maybe try a skinny jean, or a baggy jean, boot cut or flare cut. Experiment! Experimenting with clothes is so fun :D I also think the length of the skirt or dress is a factor, but I think the cute white dress you have there is a really good candidate. Its a visual balancing act.
I agree with the other commenter that said to try cargo jeans! Or just other types of cargo pants in general! I love cargo pants and have a bunch but they aren't really like the ones you tried.
I’m amazed how you feel about the low rise cargos. They look SOO DANG GOOD on you! I have a lot longer torso than you and I look weird in low rise I think because of that. That’s just my opinion though you do fam😂. I’m just jealous over here lol
I’m glad you recognized how slaaayyy you looked in the blue/green sweater dress! Obvi your personal comfort comes first but omg it looked so good on you!!!
I can't with trends, I've never been able to join trends, I have been wearing the same style of clothing since I was 14 and it's never changed haha I guess I've always just known my personal style and that works so well for me. It is fun to take small inspirations but overall I would never buy metallic pants or cargo pants 😂 I actually do wear sweater dresses though, especially if they have a turtle neck 😂🩷
10:25 This sweater dress is sooo gorgeous!!! I definitely think it is for cooler states or countries, but it being a dress actually prevents the sweaty nether regions. This is something that i would keep, it is absolutely gorgeous! I want one!
12:20 Excuse me?! This is fabulous! OMG with the t-shirt being the perfect tunic/dress length, it is perfection! love love love! I would probably put some sneaky shorts on under :P
i really like that you used nuuly to try the trends! this seems like a better way to do it than buying stuff from the thrift store or thredup (those aren't necessarily bad, but i do feel bad when you end up not liking them cause it feels wasteful). wish thrift stores would open up fitting rooms again - that would be the best (and least expensive) way to do it!
Someone put me on to allllways checking the fabric composition of anything I want to buy- polyester tends to make you more sweaty and isn’t super breathable, acrylic normally isn’t v comfy for me but cotton is normally a safe bet. *In reference to the sweater dress (which DOES look amazing btw💚)
Great idea to use Nuuly rentals for a trends video. Since they only/mainly carry brands from companies related to Urban Outfitters, there’s going to be a very current trendy selection. A note of caution for normies, though, Nuuly users are not supposed to wash the clothes while they have them (in case this damages them, which makes you wonder about the quality of those brands) and you have to wonder how well the items are cleaned back at head office. I’ve seen videos of other clothing rental workers just using moist wipes to spot clean and a dry brush on most items before they’re shipped out again. Some Nuuly users have reported musty smells. I’d say do a careful hand wash or abstain. For a similar price per item, you can wash something from the thrift store no questions asked and keep it forever if you want to.
been watching your videos for a while now and just wanted to say im so happy to see how your personal style has grown and solidified over time ! not only is ur fashion soso cute but you’re really true to yourself and I admire it so much!! 🫶
The dress over jeans could be super cute! I feel like adding more accessories, as well as switching to a darker or more neutral wash jean could improve it, yours seem really bright blue
The sweater dress looks gorgeous on you, but I totally understand why you wouldn't wear it - I'm all about comfort too. I like the dresses and skirts over pants trend; I think the shape of the clothing pieces would determine how cohesive the outfit looks. I also love the balaclava. I recently thrifted a crochet elf hood, it's looser than a balaclava but a similar concept and sooo cute!
You should try the cargo pants with a really feminine fun sweater! I love cargo pants and I wear them this way all the time! Also they work really well with combat boots :) also my favorite combo is mint green sweater with an army or olive green cargo pant 💚
I think the lil devil hat would be cutesie with a big puffer/sweater and mini skirt. Tho I probably think that bc I see it styled on Pinterest that way so much 😂
Yes! As a person who lives where it snows, I agree: with a puffer coat would be great! Also, particularly on a day when it is raining, hailing, or whatever… though I can appreciate that never much happens in LA.
I love this kind of videos !! Make me realize that I should go out of my comfort zone ! Dress over pants look was pretty good, but I feel you i tried with some jeans it looked pretty off 😅 but I feel like with trousers, its easier ! The sequin skirt was sooooo pretty, I love it !
Girl what?! Cargo pants have been a thing for years! There are sooo cute! There like my go too and there fun to actually dance in too. I have worn them with docs and it’s hot 🔥😍
i feel like the silhouette is a bit off for the cargo pants outfit. i think a shoe that's more narrow (like an adidas samba) would balance out the volume in the pants and make the outfit work!
I actually view you as an it girl but a different brand if that makes sense! That might just be me though because I have a slightly similar style to you
Taste is so personal! I thought those cargo pants looked amazing on you, but still, respect for knowing when something like texture feels or noise a fabric makes is going to bug you enough that you won't reach for an item.
Do you have any creators you would recommend that lean more into a boho/southwestern/western style ? Also mid-plus size creators? I LOVE your channel, your attitude towards sustainability and fashion is so refreshing and you always put me in a great mood (: I get a lot of inspiration from the principals you talk about, ide love to get some visual inspo that would be a bit more applicable to me if you have any recommendations. Thank you!
I HATE cargo pants, and I don't like the ones you're wearing. But I found a pair I like 😐 Never thought thag would happen. I was desperate cause I needed green pants for something and I tried them on and they looked really well. I still don't know if I like the pockets though. They are H&M, not second hand.
Such a shame you don’t like them because you rocked the cargo fit, little bolero shrug, and that adorable knit hat! 😂 I love dresses over jeans! But I think it’s a cultural thing, I feel like dresses over jeans in Asia isn’t as mocked as it is in the U.S. 🤔
You pull off nearly all these looks, except the dress or skirt over jeans, that's always a no from me. I totally had a couple of sequined skirts in the mid 2010s that I wouldn't want back, but this subdued sheer skirt is nice. It says classy instead of tacky.
i think you didn't do the most amazing job styling those pieces. like, that balaclava look seemed too 2016 fashion and the cargo pants you chose was a bit outdated with all the reversed stitching plus that metallic pants deserved so much better.. but i loved the sweater dress and the long shirt+sequin skirt looks
That sweater dress is made for you. I understand that you live somewhere too hot but it looks gorgeous on you. I also loveeee the sequin skirt with that top it just needs shorts or maybe i white mini skirt underneath but it’s such a cool outfit
I agree cargo pants are hard to style, especially the low rise ones! I only own higher waisted ones & pair them with a more cropped wrap top which I think adds in some daintyness as you mentioned & converse since they have that sporty look but are sleek. I dunno. I just like having pockets that are big enough to hold my phone and cargos have a bunch of those pockets haha. Also, I love the way the lil knit devil bonnet looks the way you were wearing it with a few whispy hairs out!. :)
okay with dress over pants I think finding a dress that hits you mid thigh is perfect and the pants should be slightly flared out by the knee! Play around with textures on the dress or the pants and pair with a neutral color or pop or color!! Think white lace pants with a brown flowy mini dress or black lace mini dress over velvet black flared leggings
I like the cargo pants. But if you don't, maybe you should try a toned down version, it's a lot of lining and a lot of pockets. Maybe a pink or yellow pair would go with your other stuff too.
The dress over jeans can be cute but you have to have the right proportions. Depending on what length dress you might want to wear a wide leg jean vs. a straight leg Jean. I think you could rock it!
I think I don't know how to use Pinterest correctly if these are the trends nowadays bc when I search 2023 trends winter or it girl outfits all I see is people dressed like Kendall Jenner 🫣🫣 looooooooong legs legs for days mini skirts tights legs for days
I wish I could put into words how much I hated that sheer sequin skirt. Like why 😩 you can see the tag just sitting there, it will get ruined in like 5 minutes, and yet it looked cute on you. But why does it exist.
The dress over jeans is cute, you just need a different pair of jeans. Those are very baggy and go in at the bottom so it makes an odd silhouette. A bootcut pair of jeans would look better cause the flare at the bottom would even out the width of the top
There are high waisted cargo pants. They look super cute on you. Oh bought high waisted denim cargo pants that don’t make that noise and the look cute with boots
I love your channel so much but I feel like your videos about fashion trends are becoming repetitive. I know it can be hard to think of new concepts though. Still love you
I usually try to spread out trend videos (especially ones that are similar), but it ended up being back to back. Plus with the new year coming up I do like to revisit old ideas that I did last year since a lot of people are searching for trend type videos, but I understand if it's not your cup of tea ❤ This one I did want to acknowledge that I was redoing some because I know my opinion may be repetitive, but I just wanted to see if in a different style it would make me feel differently which it didn't haha so yeah I don't see myself doing this type of video necessarily again or at least not for a couple of years since I've now tried all the ones I've hated at least as of now. Uploading twice of week every week and having every single idea be original and unique definitely can be a struggle and lead to major burn out so I'm just trying my best to have new ideas, but also recycle things in a way that (at least to me) is different. But again I totally get where you're coming from!
You rocked all of these styles! Yet I understand that this doesn't always equate to comfort in wearing them. Checking that comfort box is important, cause if it isn't comfortable, even if it looks fantastic, we're not likely to wear it.
I've always loved cargo pants, just not this specific style you chose. Mine are all real jeans and they go with everything. Btw, I wear mine with ballet flats, which I never stopped wearing (don't care about trends). I love silver metallics, but again, not the pants you chose. There are metallic jeans that I think are very cute. But even though I love metallics, I don't see myself wearing metallic pants. I do have a sweater that I love, and of course, shoes. The rest of the trends are really not for me.
For dresses over pants I think it needs to be an actual dress, not a skirt and top. The skirt and top in 2 colors and then pants in a third color just breaks up your body into too many chunks. But a dress that is a continuous line over pants extends the vertical line. You recently thrifted a white puffy baby doll dress that could look cute over pants, like maybe those shiny pants that Jenna made you. For trends like silver metallic I personally think they work way better as shoes or bags, not as pants.
I think the balaclava just works with warmer outfits. Pairing it with knits, leather and just outerwear.
Honestly, I LOVE how the cargo pants look on you! But I definitely get wearing what makes you feel comfortable. I love these videos so much ❤️
agreed, i want that whole look😂
As a 40 year old, I just gotta say I so enjoy how y’all interpret mid-rise jeans as low-rise. In the early 2000s low-rise jeans required grooming to pull off.

Yep, if there isn’t a risk of 🍑 peeking out when you sit or bend down, it’s not low-rise!
😂 exactly.
Oh yes, so true. Hopefully, none of us will be forced to deal that level of low rise again.🤞🏼
Yes, and the point was to have it so low your thong showed.🤮Truly the worst trend.
I LOVE THE SWEATER DRESS ON YOU!!! And the silhouette is amazing!
Also love these videos, trying trends is fun but it’s exhausting to be “on trend” when the cycle is changing so fast! I like that you chose a more sustainable way to try them out ❤
Girl that green blue long sleeve dress is a bomb
For the dresses and skirts over jeans, I really think its the cut of the jean that makes it or breaks it. A straight leg/mom style where it kind of tapers in at the ankle gives a more oval silhouette. Maybe try a skinny jean, or a baggy jean, boot cut or flare cut. Experiment! I agree with the other commenter that said to try cargo jeans! Or just other types of cargo pants in general! I love cargo pants and have a bunch but they aren't really like the ones you tried.
I think I need to see Alexa in her villain era though, honestly. I’m here for dresses over flare jeans, specifically babydoll dresses. 🖤
I’m amazed how you feel about the low rise cargos. They look SOO DANG GOOD on you! I have a lot longer torso than you and I look weird in low rise I think because of that. That’s just my opinion though you do fam😂. I’m just jealous over here lol
The sweather dress look so good 😍
I have a vintage mod style sweater dress and i am just so sweaty whenever i wear it. But it is super cute so im never getting rid of it
I’m glad you recognized how slaaayyy you looked in the blue/green sweater dress! Obvi your personal comfort comes first but omg it looked so good on you!!!
Oh my gosh those cargos look adorable on you!! 🥺 I understand you not feeling comfortable with them for sure but they really do look amazing on you!!
I can't with trends, I've never been able to join trends, I have been wearing the same style of clothing since I was 14 and it's never changed haha I guess I've always just known my personal style and that works so well for me. I actually do wear sweater dresses though, especially if they have a turtle neck 😂🩷
You look soooo good in the green dress, eres bella (you are beautiful ❤🎉
You look adorable in all of these! Go with your gut! ❤
The knit dress with an open back makes no sense. Either you freeze in the back or you melt in the front 😂
Curious if you’d like the metallic ganni jeans that are colorful!!
Where are the black chunky cowboy boots from!
I love the bolero on you T_T
The cargos look so cute on you! But it should feel like you want to wear it so that totally trumps that.
Okay, balaclava, slay! Please actually wear it. Styling looked cute!!
Nothing wrong with trying out the trends. Not every trend will work for everyone.
sequined* 😊😊
It also needs to be said that vegan leather is TERRIBLE for the environment!!!
wow im so early!!!!

I think the dress over pants trend is very cute, but I think it looks better with a really short flowy dress and jeans
Yes plus less baggy pants. Sorta like big top small bottom.
It’s kind of a dumpy look to me, in most instances.
exactly!
That was my entire personality back in 2007 lol. Babydoll dresses over flares or skinnies.
Renting was a great idea! Great way to try it without buying and regretting it later
12:20 Excuse me?! This is fabulous! OMG with the t-shirt being the perfect tunic/dress length, it is perfection! love love love! I would probably put some sneaky shorts on under :P
Right? I feel like it's not her style but I love it!
The cargo pants look amazing on you especially when you styled your hair like that 😊
That sweater dress is kind of everything on you Alexa, you can wear sweat pads and it would be worth it!
Love your videos!
i really like that you used nuuly to try the trends! this seems like a better way to do it than buying stuff from the thrift store or thredup (those aren't necessarily bad, but i do feel bad when you end up not liking them cause it feels wasteful). wish thrift stores would open up fitting rooms again - that would be the best (and least expensive) way to do it!

The dress over jeans could be super cute! I feel like adding more accessories, as well as switching to a darker or more neutral wash jean could improve it, yours seem really bright blue
You actually look pretty great with low rise! ♥️ I’m not fan of the cargo, but the low rise thing, doesn’t look bad at all on you!
The sweater dress looks gorgeous on you, but I totally understand why you wouldn't wear it - I'm all about comfort too. I like the dresses and skirts over pants trend; I think the shape of the clothing pieces would determine how cohesive the outfit looks. I also love the balaclava. I actually view you as an it girl but a different brand if that makes sense! That might just be me though because I have a slightly similar style to you
You look adorable in the balaklava ☺️
I would like those silver pants please and thank you 😂😂
I like cargo pants and the boleros but I’m with you on everything else!! This was a fun video!
Taste is so personal! I thought those cargo pants looked amazing on you, but still, respect for knowing when something like texture feels or noise a fabric makes is going to bug you enough that you won't reach for an item.
I really like this hair length on you😮😍 I feel like it’s perfect with your face shape
the dress over jeans was a slay! you styled them amazingly😍

apparently brand new it's $60 as well!!!!! for something so flimsy 😂
@TheBinsQueen I think it looks like a plastic bag 😂 I don’t like it either
You look really really good with the dress over jeans! You should try the jeans with tha white dress with the collar you thrifted a couple videos ago!
Cargo pants are cool, they do come in different fabrics, mine are cotton, high rise and don't make all the noise.
The dress over jeans is cute, you just need a different pair of jeans. Those are very baggy and go in at the bottom so it makes an odd silhouette. A bootcut pair of jeans would look better cause the flare at the bottom would even out the width of the top

The cargos look so cute on you! But totally get they aren’t your personal style. I’m a cargo pant person so I’m biased. 😂
the balaclava just looks ridiculous on everyone imo 😬 but if it makes you happy go for it!
OOOOOHH MY GOSH!!!! Alexa the cargo pants look Fire!!!! on you
To be honest, you always look gorgeous in EVERYTHING.
I ADORE your whole outfit for the sequin skirt.
First Comment AHHH🎉
Wooo!! 💘 appreciate you !!
The TNA motel pants or the Greenwich ones are my take on the cargo pants… more like carpenter pants tho but super flattering
I have silver metallic loafers that I’ve had for years and a crossbody bag and that’s enough for me
I'm definitely a dress over pants girl but I think short dresses seem a little easier to wear
You should try the skirt over jeans trend with flared pair😍
Try a cargo Jean
I love the sweater dress on you. I think the sequin has to be shorter
I think the only one that worked was the cargos
Renting was a great idea! Great way to try it without buying and regretting it later

They sold sell it anymore 😭 it’s by en route though!!
The cargo pants fit it so cute on you!!
Will you sell me your cargo pants?
You look so good so good in The cargo pants❤
the sweater dress looks so good on you!!!
